Breaking News: Metoyer cleared for OU
Per David Metoyer, Trey Metoyer, former Whitehouse WR, has been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse to enroll at the University of Oklahoma.

Metoyer spent the last semester at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.

Clarksville Rosser to UT-San Antonio
Clarskville's H.B. Rosser has given a verbal commitment to UT-San Antonio. Rosser, played both quarterback and defensive back at Clarksville High School.

Rosser threw for 1,524-yards and 22-TD's and ran for 1,011-yards on 117-carries and 12-TD's during his senior season.

Lamonte Chambers to Mexia
Lamonte Chambers is the new head football coach at Mexia High School. Chambers has been the running back's coach at San Antonio Madison.

Chambers played at Wortham High School and then Tarleton State University.

He's also been an assistant coach at Mineral Wells, South San Antonio, San Antonio Holmes and then Madison.

He replaces Paul Weaver, who was 9-13 including two playoff teams at Mexia.

Piske, Castles among finalists at Tyler Lee
(Updated)

Interim Head Football Coach Randy Huffstickler was informed on Tuesday that he is not among the finalists to become the new head coach at Tyler Lee High School. Huffstickler informed his coaching staff and players of the administration's decision during a team meeting.

Lindale AD/Football Coach Mike Meador told Smoaky.com he was among the list of finalists, but withdrew his name from consideration almost immediately, "I just have a great job and situation here at Lindale and we have some unfinished business."

Two sources told Smoaky.com both Fairfield's Darrell Piske and Corsicana's Phil Castles are among the finalists.

Magnolia West Football Coach Shawn Bell told Smoaky.com he was not a finalist, Bell was among a small group invited back for a second interview.

Kaufman AD/Football Coach Todd York was also among those who interviewed, but he was also told he wasn't a finalist.

Tyler ISD athletic director Rod Kaspar told David Smoak in November he would like to name a head coach by the first week in February.
