Some of it, also, is the types of degrees. I don't want to use the term "useless degree", but think about the wider variety of non-STEM degrees that there are now that there weren't 20 or 25 years ago. That's why you see people talk a lot about degrees in "Underwater Basket Weaving" or something similarly nonsensical. It's also why I post that Babylon Bee video where the girl is talking to the guy about paying off her "gender studies" degree.

Same here with football but we stay in the top 15 in basketball.

Rules have changed but not that much. Strength & Conditioning instruction sessions may be conducted by school coaches for students in grades 7-12 from that coach's attendance zone starting the first day of school. This is for sports in the off-season only. A strength and conditioning session shall be no more than one hour per day outside the school day, Monday through Friday, and a student shall attend no more than one session of supervised instruction per day. Sport specific skill instruction is prohibited during the strength and conditioning session. Sports specific equipment (balls, dummies, sleds, contact equipment) is prohibited during the strength and conditioning session. School shirts, shorts and shoes may be provided by the school (local school option). Sport Specific Skill Instruction – During the school year, there is no sport specific skill instructions allowed for off-season sports, outside of the school day.

House Passes Bills For Ukraine and Israel

Barry won't even answer the question "Where's all this additional money coming from?" Whether you support giving money for the efforts in Ukraine or not, I think that's a legitimate question to ask and have answered. -
Tennessee VW Workers Vote Over Whelmingly To Join A Union

I worked one time for a company that needed to do some work for another company that had a union. I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail, but this company we were doing the work for made a quite well known fighter jet. Our group was supposed to take some tools and equipment to this one facility in order to install the equipment. Well, we got there, and wasted probably half an hour waiting on the person who had the key to their "cage" so we could get a cart to load our equipment and tools onto so that we could start. The reason we had to wait? The person that greeted us wasn't allowed to open the cage -- per union rules. They literally could have if they had the key, but they had to page a guy to get the key, and then come to our location to open the cage for us. We had to do the same thing every morning, except the other mornings we were there (about a week) they were basically waiting for us when we got there. I actually saw a guy napping during their lunch break on one of the jets they were building. -

The rules have relaxed a lot since whenever you lost touch with the new stuff. After your season you can spend up to "X" hours a week before or after school hours doing sports specific drills/practice for all sports (I can't tell you for sure the value of that X". 5 and 6A can have padded spring football for X hours a week with a spring game. 4A and below typically can have spring football during the athletic period etc, for X number of weeks with an added scrimmage to the regular season. 7 on 7 is wild. You can basically coach 7 on 7 during the class period, give them the plays, set the depth chart etc, but can't actually coach them during the game. Coaches can be present, seen, etc. They can talk to players between games etc. I don't think they can transport them. Hopefully, some of this helps.

They will go back to rocking the Southland if the rumors are true...
-
I watched them this past season. They (Varsity & JV) were pretty bad.

I was just clarifying. I've seen AD's that were good football coaches and also had experience in other sports. They were usually good for the whole program. I've seen some that were football only. Sometimes they had good football programs and sometimes not. But, the entire athletic program never grew under guys like that.

rough year. any upside to this one?

leaving west rusk for qc? blood talks i guess -
- Today

be great to have a well versed AD, but being a good girls coach doesn't equate to good football. correct me if i'm wrong, just thought it was AD/HFC, needs to be good football coach. well versed in other sports is always a plus too
-
Cruz voted No. Guy keeps earning my vote. Cornyn, as usual, in lockstep with the swamp. This guy needs to go.
-
You don't want an AD that is well versed in other sports and supports both boys' and girls' programs? Why not?
-
Because most of the boy athletes at football until Christmas. Basketball isn’t given a chance. When football is over, most years district basketball games have already started

Imagine being presented the option to basically have a job for life regardless of performance and to increase your salary every year by leaps and bounds. Unions are great for the people who are in them, and that's where the benefit stops.
