  2. I would be furious if OU hired him. I am not going to condemn another school for doing so, though.

  3. Yeah, having Jessie back is gonna be great. Mixing it up with Keilyn and young Meredith is gonna be exciting as well. Totally expecting some initial annoyance early in the season: "Why aren't we throwing the ball more?!"

  4. Omenihu returning. DL should be a strength next year. Omenihu, Roach, Nelson, Graham, Wilbon, Chisolm, and Hager all played this year and Bimage should provide depth also. Wouldn't be surprised if Coburn logs some minutes either.

  5. His foot was touching a player who was clearly OOB, therefore, he was OOB. TD should have come back and the sideline interference flag enforced from the end of the run. It’s all good though. Best team in the country won. Your third party sideshow team will have to try again next year.

  6. More like how infidelity ruined everything he had built on the field.

  8. 2015. UGA was 5-1 when BAMA went between the hedges. 2016, Tennessee was 6-1 before BAMA went to Neyland Stadium. It ain’t our fault that the teams that play them after us follow our blueprint.

  9. But but but... I'm not watching in protest of the SEC!!! Why did everyone watch and make the game lucrative!?

  10. I know they will play hard and fast. They will have a plan every time they step on the field. And I truly believe that between Chavis and Morris, Arkansas will have some of the best talent they have had in a long time. They played for an SEC Championship 3 times under Houston Nutt, they can definitely do it with Morris and Chavis on the Hill.

  11. Yes, Yes and Yes. Spring ball can't get here quick enough. I know how important the weight room is and I know how important the speed and conditioning drills are to the overall development of the team and the program. But, I am ready for "Full Tilt Boogie"

  12. That was the worst halftime "entertainment", if that's what you call entertainment, that I have ever seen during any televised halftime in my lifetime ... I don't see how they could have found anything worse ....

  15. FIFY... This is the 2nd time I've vouched for someone and they burned me... So screw all of these guys. Lion is and has been back on my list.

  16. I am not sure all of you guys are aware of this, but the NCAA added 2 more sideline jobs for coaches... Essentially, adding the capability for all programs to add 2 more coaches to each staff. You will see a lot more "offensive Analyst" jobs to fill the 2 spots in the pressbox left open to move 2 more coaches down on to the field.

  17. I thought it was February 2, myself. And that if we got a district rival we hadn’t played in a decade or more, we’d get six more weeks of winter.

  23. Looks like we will next year be seeing long threads mostly about the schools in NE Tex that have dropped into 3A D1 IE the New Boston Daingerfield threads of 2012 2013 etc

  25. I don't want to hear this bull#### about what OU would or wouldn't have done. We lost. We don't get to say what we could have done. We didn't get it done. We are no longer a part of the conversation. OU was whipping Georgia up and down the field for an entire half of football... but refused to finish. We had ample opportunities (both on offense and defense) to put the game away. But we didn't. We scored 40+ points and rolled up 500+ yards of offense... and lost. Georgia beat us when and where it counted. Georgia deserved to be there. Period.

  26. And if you talk about infant mortality, I'd bet the US leads the world in children being born to drug addicted (crack head, sniffing glue, paint, shooting heroin, etc) mothers. And it appears that fentanyl is killing many of our teens.

  27. Essentially, the politicians of both parties increase the deficit. Currently, Obama is King. The only time either party in DC worries about the deficit is when the other party is in power. Many conservatives were (rightfully so) concerned about Obama's deficit spending since it did increase so much. And just a hint to any liberals/Dems, if you want to say something negative about Trump, avoid the deficit thing, because you may be concerned about it, but the politicians you vote in, and the DNC are not - nor are way to many Repubs. If Trump increases it as much as Obama, I'll be screaming for his head.

  28. And there you go, obfuscating. You're going to stay in denial until one day a UFO hovers over Garrison and beams you up. Once you're released, you're going to start telling folks what you saw, and they'll act just like you are now. And me and Colmes are going to have a good belly laugh (we got belly, although last time I had a talk with him he was down to 250 - my weight). Anyway, back to my story. When no one in Garrison will believe you, you'll run up to Deadwood & get some of Doomer's Elixir. Then you'll hunt up Harrier for a joint and, and, well, it's a slippery slope. Personally, I hate to see you end up like that. PS: Guess I need to say this, even though I was pulling for Ga, Roll Tide.

  31. A number have had their cases thrown out, or they chose to pursue civil suits for money and no criminal suits. Again, as far as the legal system is concerned, only one rape occurred by a football player under Briles watch, and he dealt with it. Again, I'm not at all saying he is innocent, but why would you pay the guy $20 million if you had evidence to terminate him with cause?

  33. Maybe a lot of folks here did know it...but there were a lot of coaches etc. who weren't sure of the date... And its not always on the 1st weekday of February...2012 (February 2 Thursday) and 2010 (February 3 Wednesday) are two examples..

  34. As Paul Harvey would say ... "and now for the rest of the story" .... All spending is not equal. There is bad spending, worse spending and worthwhile justifiable spending .... Dimocrat presidents are far worse at the worst of the worst spending, that's just a fact. All they do is drastically expand social spending and neglect national security. Every republican president in my lifetime that followed a dimocrat president since Kennedy has had to necessarily spend a ton of money to rebuild a neglected and depleted military and national defense infrastructure. It happened after Carter, Clinton and now Obama ...

  36. This one feels easy for me... In East Texas, you generally live where you earn your bread and you stay there. However, with the decline of education in the larger schools or at least the perception of lesser education and safety at the larger towns in ETX (Marshall, Longview, Tyler, Texarkana, Lufkin, Nac), you see schools that benefit from the parents choosing the "safer better school" with a "winning tradition." So think of this, in the 80s and 90s, Marshall, Longview, Tyler, and Texarkana stayed loaded with talent. People didn't live in Carthage, EF, and Waskom and work in Marshall. They lived and worked there. Same for Longview, and look at some of the "safer suburbs" that leech off of that. However, you also have to consider my list up there... We have maybe 10 schools that we can consider "large" East Texas football... then you have Dallas and Houston and SA, and Ft Worth... There aren't many schools smaller than 4A out here in the metro... Also in DFW/Houston/etc... you basically can pick your school district if you can afford it. We live in Aledo, and we see people with children buying new properties out here daily. Housing less than $300k is not listed more than a few days before it goes off of the market. Now where do these Aledo people work? Ft Worth, Arlington, Granbury, Weatherford, etc etc etc... So why Aledo? It's an easy drive with a reputation of a great education and a winning tradition... In ETX that reputation exists solely in the smaller schools, and in DFW you can find plenty of larger schools that will attract those same type of people.

  37. I agree. I’ve never said the man is guilty in anyway. But he was responsible for whatever happened due to his negligence of the daily operations of his football program. is that fair? Who knows, but considering what they paid the man, he should have had his eyes and ears in a few more places

  38. Oddly enough, the Title IX lawsuit vs Baylor that named Art Briles was dismissed today. That means there are exactly zero pending criminal or civil suits vs Baylor/Briles. There were never any arrests. I'm not at all a Briles apologist, but at the end of the day if the man's name has been cleared, then we can't keep treating like he's guilty. That's the system we chose.

  40. I figured if @MattStepp thought it was worthy enough to make an announcement on Twitter about it... and he’s a TXHSFB guru.... it was worth sharing here too. He got no snarky remarks. Can’t expect the same on SDC tho. Too many bored internet keyboard warriors on here.

  41. I think Mathias was saying that the small schools are competing with schools on more of an equal playing field when it comes to resources, enrollment, etc and the big East TX schools aren't. And I think we can both agree on that at least at the 6a level. Probably more equal on the 5a level for East TX big schools.

  42. Interesting reading your posts. Maybe you guys won’t be able to win state every year, which y’all did for a few years. I will say there have been some good teams drop into your division like Atlanta and Diboll and a few others. It is very hard to win at a high level every year especially in the smaller schools. That being said I can see your frustrations with going 4-7, loosing to your rival, and your rival winning state. You guys are proud and extremely competitive, and I like that about the Yoe faithful. Good luck to you guys in 2018 it won’t be easy your division is a tough one.

  43. What has upset allot of Yoe fans is how fundamentally unsound the team has become. This coaching staff does not know how to evaluate it's talent and put them in position to be successful. There needs to be a change at HC and it needs to be done soon. This existing Super and school board had the opportunity to hire an experienced HC. Hopefully the wrongs will be righted.

  44. I wouldn’t say the numbers are way down, we have just as many kids out playing as before. The problem with the defense is the spread offense we ran, it makes you soft. The mind set has to change in the adults, before you will see a change in the kids, we had a lot of finger pointing at kids and not enough pointing back at leadership, practice time, and work ethic. It was time for a change and that’s what is happening, but the parents and fans need to adjust as well, let the new coach do the coaching, and everything will be fine.
