The big 12 lost 3 flagship universities and an AgMech school. TCU took the directional spot and West Virginia took one of the flagship spots. Utsa would never get a shot at the Big12, especially if Houston didn’t.

Van lost a lot, but if they would’ve been in this district the last 4 years, they would’ve had a couple wins over Henderson, Carthage, or Kilgore. Maybe not all 3, but they would’ve sprinkled in the occasional win. I would say they could’ve won a game a year out of those 3. They are 39-10 since 2014. Beat Palestine 4 years in a row, beat Lindale 3 times, and Kaufman twice. Lost 2 close games to Kennedale who has won R2 the last 2 years. Van definitely has not seen the competition week in and week out they will see in this district, but I would bank on them beating atleast 1 of the big 3 on a yearly basis if this district stays together. Center and CH have wins over Kilgore. CH and Brownsboro have wins over Henderson. And Kilgore and Henderson both have multiple wins over Carthage since this district started in 2014. Do I think Van can win this district? No, I do not. Do I think they have a chance at 2-4? Yes, I do.

I am a Democrat and I think this proposal is straight BS! The only people you will find complaining about something as trivial as an air horn at the game is the losing team's fanbase. When your team is winning and scoring at will, you seem to not even recall a train horn. I guess, I'd have my lip stuck out and complaining about the train horn if we were getting our butts handed to us week in and week out, too.

It all runs together don't it? Seems like 4 or 5 years back but it was actually in 04 when we played W-H at Rose. It was Stephen Hodge's senior year. We had the #1 scoring defense in the state and #2 scoring offense. I remember quite well because we played Gilmer next round who had the #1 scoring offense in the state and #2 scoring defense in the state. Late in the 4th quarter of the W-H game Hodge was back fielding a punt return and waved for a fair catch and a Wilmer Hutchins player loaded up on him and hit him wide open and the ball was still 20 ft from him in the air. Very dirty hit that left him with a badly strained MCL. He played the next week against Gilmer but was nowhere near 100%. Starting MLB Daylon McCoy also broke his hand in that game against W-H and was ruled out fornthe Gilmer game. Then Lennon Creer suffered a high ankle sprain early in that Gilmer game the following week after piling up over 100 yards on his first 5 carries. That was the year before we went to 3 straight state titles. I don't know if we would have beaten Gilmer with a healthy Hodge, McCoy, and Creer or not because Gilmer was so loaded that year but I think we would have played them better than the 60-35 score it ended up being. That Tatum/Gilmer 04 game is on youtube minus a large part of the 2nd quarter because the Gilmer goof balls that were filming and broadcasting ran out of film half way through the 2nd quarter and didn't know it til after halftime lol.
