Under democrat standards, proof is irrelevant. According to YOUR “shoe-in” presidential candidate, “it’s not the nature of the evidence, it’s the seriousness of the charge.” The rats don’t have a shred of evidence against Kavanaugh. All they have are made-up allegations. We haven’t seen an ounce of proof. His claim that Ford is a paid shrill for the DNC is every bit as credible as her claim of sexual assault, minus the 37 year wait.3 points

I want John King to completely annihilate Mesquite Horn this year. Besides the poster on 6A, they have an unruly and arrogant fanbase. They go out of their way to taunt us and Mesquite High done the same thing a few years ago but, fortunately the refs flagged their butts extensively for their on-the-field antics. I am talking about, I want John King to hit Mesquite Horn with a 70 piece this upcoming meeting between us.2 points

Dream on!!!!! The dems have done more to hurt the woman's movement than anyone. And you can take that from a survivor of sexual assault that can remember every detail from 43 years ago.2 points

Anyone who didn't see the desperate Ds were gonna run this play haven't been paying attention to politics for the last few decades. It's basically all they have. I hope Kav uses this experience to beat the hell out of the Ds and their insane policies for the next 30-40 years. It will be well-deserved.2 points

As bad as the players actions are, I'm having trouble with the classless comment of the AD regarding the injured player on the other team.2 points
-
He don’t look as tough as thinks bearing down on a player half his size. As a parent i wouldn’t file charges but he would be kicked off the team and the AD should be questioned to why this and the other #### went on. It don’t seem to be just one player on this team with this attitude2 points

After watching this play frame by frame.....you can see what actually occurred here. The Waco University player #76 did a take down and body slam of the assaulted player.....not a legal block. Then he continued slamming the player against the ground.....at which point the assaulted player kicked #76 in self defense. At this time #76 began punching the kid....outweighing him by at least one hundred pounds. This is an outright assault and the University player has no place participating in any UIL sporting events......end of story. In addition, charges should be filed against him and appropriate measures taken to ensure he receives the kind of punishment any other person would receive in this kind of scenario. #76 is a bully.......he did not block the player, but did a take down and body slam to instigate the entire episode. The assaulted player was completely innocent and only defending himself against this bully. Like I said before.......put him in a cage to fight a champion and let's see how he likes it with someone his size.2 points

If I'm his coach, I throw him off the team. If I'm the father of the kid he attacked, I press charges and file a lawsuit.2 points

Ok, let me get this straight: a guy (allegedly) waves his Johnson around at an 80s college party and in 2018 it constitutes sexual assault. The same people who say that tell us that a man who (allegedly) “identifies” as a female goes into a ladies room used by little girls and it’s “tolerance”. You must have to smoke a lot of crack to kill enough brain cells to qualify as a democrat these days.2 points

In the 40 years of watching Franklin football... No doubt one of the best football games in Franklin High School history.. Scott Sanders was very special to my family, he was one of my son’s best friends.. No doubt in All my years doing stats and covering high school football Scott Sanders was one of the toughest players I ever covered. What he did in that game with a broken bone in his leg was unbelievable.. What I would give to go hog hunting with him and my son one more time.... One of the things we would say when he would run the football was IF u mess with the BULL u will get the Horn.... RIP Buddy!!! You are greatly missed.. Love you and miss you my friend.....2 points

Anyway, to answer @Quick question in short.. the defensive coaching certainly does get under my skin at times but I also like them at times. BUT I think the main reason why you all won't see an absolute shutdown performance by the D, and will see a bend don't break is simply the scheme. It's so easy for those spread teams (especially the good ones) to decipher a 4-2-5 pre-snap... it has no choice but to bend. And I HATE it when we decide to rush one of the LB's off the edge without disguising it because all a good spread OC is going to do is tell his QB to switch the play to a run up the middle.... and RB will get 10 yards every time. Can't have just 1 LB in the middle and expect to stop the run. That's relying too much on interior dline to stop the run but that's a tall task when they're already out numbered. All boils down to the times we are in honestly. The spread is easy to teach but hard to defend. Can't shut it down and the only team that I remember in recent memory absolutely shutting down the spread was Katy in 2015 when they beat LT, 3-4 scheme. LT put it to The Woodlands in 2016, also 3-4.2 points

UIL will get involved if mother of injured player wants to press it to next level. Three similar issues in same game points to a larger issue in the program.1 point

Again, not saying that Ms Ford is lying, but how many of us could write a somewhat credible story, and then memorize certain details of that story? I think most of us could.1 point

But he said he was sorry after the game and shook the other player’s hand! I think the AD should have imposed a stiffer punishment than ejection from this game and a half from the next game. This was pretty flagrant. Maybe the coach did and we just don’t know about it. I’m not in favor of filing assault charges and having the kid arrested. He is 13-14 years old. However the coach better put him on a short leash because if it happens again the player, coach, AD & Superintendent will be in some very deep hot water.1 point

You have ZERO credibility on this issue. You voted for a sexual predator TWICE, and continue to worship him to this day. You supported a woman who sought to destroy women who made credible allegations ten years AFTER the (alleged) Kavanaugh incident. You liberals are so predictable. You are nothing more than a Clinton bootlicker. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.1 point

Please pray for the long hours and hard work coaches do with our HS student/athletes. Texas HS football is so much deeper than just X's and O's. It is discipline, work ethic, and the ability to work with one another in the good as well as the bad times. This is our future and from all I see on the news is in jeopardy if the ship isn't righted. Thank you coaches from a former coach!!!!1 point

Yeah, we had a TD against Gatesville called back because the receiver held his forefinger up as he crossed the goal line. A: If you want to have an "EXCESSIVE Taunting" penalty, I can accept that. But penalizing a team because of a forefinger or high-stepping? Smoaky doesn't allow the proper language I deem adequate to describe that mentality. But let's address the logic: Why is it a penalty to simply raise a forefinger or highstep on a touchdown run? Because it's taunting the opposing players? What, it's hurting their feelings? We do all know that on lots of plays in almost every game across the state on any given Friday night, at least one player is shouting something offensive at an opposing player, right? So shpuld tefs start flagging all of that? Or how about we start handing out "Great Job" trophies exactly like the state championship one to all 1400+ teams? B: There is NO REALM OF EXISTENCE were it should be considered okay by ANY stretch of the imagination to take away a score because of a forefinger or a highstep. The ONLY time any play should be negated is if a procedural violation occurred which created or could have created an unfair advantage. A penalty for Excessive Celebration or Taunting during a touchdown play should be enforced on the ensuing kickoff, or if it occurs in the process of a kickoff, on the ensuing possession.1 point

"Gilmer would normally win......" - Up until the last 3 years? Likely. "Carthage is the best and superior to all other programs...................." They are the best program in 4A, if not the best in all classifications, proven by 6 state championships in the last decade under Scott Surratt. "83 Daingerfield Is best team ever..." You'd have to have seen them to understand. 631 points scored (in that era) and giving up only 8 points through 16 games, 14 out of 16 games were shutouts including 13 in a row to finish the season, opponents averaging less than a foot per offensive play? Yes? I'm of the opinion that if that defense would've known that they would set records for shutouts, they would've shut out the other two opponents. They would've found a way. They were that good. None of this has anything to do with Newton, and the Eagles will likely put a whooping on a "down" Gilmer team. It is what it is, and unless we regain the fire in our belly, we're likely to see a couple more in district. I just hope we can give y'all a decent game. Nothing would make me happier than to see our team play much better after being embarrassed last week.1 point

I honestly did not like reading through this thread and seeing all of the Carthage and Newton nonsense. I am a Newton fan and I believe that we have an awesome team that will win back to back titles in 3A football and can give any 4A team a run for their money. Though, i believe Carthage would beat Newton and I am totally fine with that. There is nothing to be ashamed of there. Athlete wise, we will match up with them completely fine and probably have the better athletes on the field, but their offense and defensive line would out play Newtons. It is what it is. Carthage is going for a three peat for a reason; they're no slouch and neither is Newton. These two teams do not play, so let's just witness greatness in two different classifications. On to Gilmer and Newton, I think Newton will beat them 56-14. I know that illiterate Newton fans are probably going to bash me for being realistic, but, oh well! PS, I was not calling all Newton fans illiterate, but there are some on here that everyone can agree upon.1 point
