There was a lot of research, specifically geared to Texas, done in the middle part of this decade on consolidation of small districts that were geographically adjoined. That research all pointed to the fact that this method of restructuring could be highly beneficial to both to the students and the taxpayers. However, the “talk” was captured by a group (opposed) who slyly rearranged the focus from small to all - advocating combining all the schools in each county into one ISD (similar to County District system done many, many years ago). This research showed that it was not financially or educationally viable to do so – and the whole examination was put on the back burner. Some sources point out that this refocus was designed specifically to kill the small school consolidation plan and instead gain traction for vouchers and using private schools to accomplish what they called the “same idea from a different approach.” The politics of it – when all else fails, remind the public that you are for “local control of schools” … and hope they don't notice all the unfunded state mandates and over-testing that are contrary to your line of political BS. Can't have it both ways - unless you are a shrewd politician. I would be held in contempt of Congress, because I almost never answer questions with a simple “yes” or “no”... I’m quite sure he is the same way & was simply having none of their high handed attitudes & was enjoying himself watching old Sheila get #### by his his refusal to be intimidated by her.

I hate it but it looks like the beginning of the end of a era. Guy, Rusty, Townes, Gary, Jerry Jeff, Ray Wylie...either already passed on or getting to that stage in life where they just wanna enjoy life after years of running the roads.

After reading the original post completely, I figured out what situation you are talking about. I don't know how that whole setup works, but I guess if those kids on the bench are not happy, they have their choices of schools to attend. I don't know the head coach or the assistants - but if a coach is fine getting beat while playing his own child, I think that it should be reconsidered whether or not he is the right person to be the coach.

Anyone other than Gary Danielson is a waste of a vote
