  1. No doubt West Monroe will be a much better test than Ruston would've been. I like it a lot. Especially knowing it's a two year deal and we get them under Texas rules in 2020. They're not the program they were under Shows, but they're still an elite program and definitely of, if not the, best programs in Louisiana. If we were going to face a team from LA, it should be them. I still don't think they scored that last minute touchdown against us in 2006 to win it, but oh well. Other schedule note, the John Tyler game on the 13th at Rose will start at 7 PM, not 7:30.

  2. Amazing, most of the liberals couldn't name one good thing about McCain before he died, and now they love him and want to defend his honor. Hypocrites.

  5. Another note about WM... Since 1993, WM has played in 16 state championship games, winning 8. They are a very strong program and will provide a very tough early season test.

  6. A great early test. Hopefully they expose any and every weak point we have in order to prepare for district and a deep playoff run.

  7. They can, but a lot of that experience for young guys on Tuesday nights is prepping them for tournament time and postseason. That's why you need to have even your bottom rotation guys in there getting some innings.

  8. The tower meeting is a good example of not being substantive, regardless what the talking heads and politicians say. But yes, i can call wrong, wrong. For example, it was WRONG to have an investigation into a duly-elected president based on nothing but LIES. The one area i will criticise Trump on with regard to McCain was when he said close to the beginning of the campaign that he doesnt consider people who get captured to be war heroes. That was certainly not called for. I respect McCains service and sacrifice, and it's too bad he threw away all that good will by being a total fraud the decades he spent in politics. His betrayal on the repeal of obumcare was inexcusable and cemented his status as a total fraud. Last i'll speak on mccain. These debates were had after he died and i dont see much sense in rehashing it now.

  9. I suspect this is mostly due to the fact the news of mccains role in peddling the dossier is in the news now. Of course, those of us who have been paying attention, have known about this for something like a year now. As far as your asking why all these people around Trump have been caught lying, the real question is what were these lies about. If you ask me under oath what time i went to bed last night and i said midnight but in fact, because i wasnt paying real close attention to the clock, it was actually 11:45, then i would technically be caught in a lie. These are the types of things the mueller goons have been prosecuting. Dont have diddly squat to do with anything substantive.

  10. I don't gamble, so it's moot. That said, when it comes to voting, I don't ever recall Republicans "finding" votes in closets and in cars parked at airports that just happen to help their candidate.

  11. I was watching the game here and there. Had some work to do but it was on in our living room. From what I've been reading the umpiring was really bad on both sides. That's always the worst.

  14. It's this simple. Trump fights back. His opponents (and in some cases, enemies) aren't used to being hit back and don't like it very much. And seeing how the last words McCain wrote amounted to no more than a PETTY last shot at Trump, any criticism he gets from Trump, even if he's 6ft under, is deserved.

  18. The Lobos week 4 matchup with Ruston has been replaced with West Monroe at Independence Stadium. Longview will be the visiting team, meaning the game will be under LA rules. West Monroe went 14-1 last season, with their lone loss a 3 point loss in the 5A state championship.

  23. He nailed it on how America was built on the Enlightenment, and the left wants to send us back to the Dark Ages with Marxist Socialism. He does have it a little wrong on Houston, because they've bought into the Chicago mentality to a degree. One of my many first cousins lives in Illinois, and they're complaining that Chicago runs the state, just as many in New York feel that New York City runs the entire state when many of them are Republicans, yet since they don't have the higher population they don't have enough representation for how they desire to be governed, and that is a travesty.

  24. This shows that the press was willing to accept the information from the Obama Administration as truth, without doing any investigative journalism. In my opinion, they should do a thorough job in all of their reporting, and not give any President a pass just because they say their administration was going to be transparent. That was one big lie. https://fas.org/blogs/secrecy/2017/11/obama-transparency/ The requests shot up under President Trump, because who could trust him ? I didn't at first. I would like to see the requests based on Presidents in the past just to see where he ranks. I'm fairly sure it would be near the top if not the highest because of all the fact checking that is done on him. What's hilarious is even with some of the things that they say he lies about are simply speculation on what could potentially be a lie, and not that it actually is at the time. Take for instance net neutrality that people were saying was going to destroy the internet as we know it. It turned out to be a big bag of nothing. Today the hot topic is immigration, yet since 1980 - 1986 and then from 1996- 2016 we had a border crisis from both sides of the aisle. President Reagan used amnesty to shut them up about it. That didn't work. Nothing was said during the Bush Sr. years, because he was still enacting that law. President Obama lied about that : https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2014/11/24/did-george-h-w-bush-really-shield-1-5-million-illegal-immigrants-nope/?utm_term=.86123827f959. Today President Trump wants to secure the border with a wall, which should be done, but they're saying there's no emergency. When I read articles in these same publications that 750 to the thousands are at border checkpoints everyday. That's just in cities, and doesn't count those that are coming across where there is little to no border patrol presence. The press is proving there is a crisis, yet talking out of the other side of their mouths that there isn't. They are a pathetic lot.

  25. I disagree. You want to win games that matter most. A&M lost a game earlier this season to Incarnate Word on a Wednesday (our 5th game in 6 days, so we were short on pitching). We COULD have thrown John Doxakis and likely won the game, but we saved him for the weekend. Meanwhile, ICW used their Saturday pitcher for 4 innings to ensure that they got the win once the game was close halfway through. We lost the game 6-5 but then went on to beat Baylor, TCU, and Houston over the weekend (all thanks to stellar pitching by pitchers who we sat out during the midweek) because we had our best pitching available while they went on to lose 2 of 3 to UT Arlington. Wins over those 3 teams boost A&M's RPI and such WAY more than going 2-2 that week with one of those wins being ICW. Now I'm not saying to just concede midweek games. But saving good pitching for conference opponents is way more important. Texas took 2 of 3 from Tech this past weekend... Even if they lose to Arkansas tonight, it'd be WAY better for their cause to take 2 of 3 from TCU than to split with Arkansas midweek.

  29. Call me crazy, but if I were Haynes, I'd be taking a long, hard look at the U. All things considered, it could be a very advantageous situation for him. Obviously I understand the allure of LSU and other big name schools who have interest... but I really think Haynes at Miami could be something special.

  32. Yep, all that hubris denotes fear, especially for those who supported a reality TV show star, who was Mobbed up, been sued over 2000 times, had multiple affairs, divorced twice, is unbelievably unfit for his office, had a fake university, had a fake charity, went bankrupt involving casinos, yet still walked away with cash, and who has a ever shrinking group of former campaign workers who aren't in jail or headed there.

  33. I would imagine this would have gone in a different direction had Coach Surratt NOT been named in this lawsuit...as alluded to, but in another way. When a town is known for one thing in recent history and you throw some dirt at one of those heroes...a high pressure water hose will get pulled out quick on that street to wash off the "dirt"...I mean evidence.

  34. So, it's not that there was no credible evidence in the plaintiff's case, it's just that CISD destroyed all the evidence to protect the coach? Gotcha. It's impressive that the federal judge couldn't figure that out, but you did... I'm not a moderator on here but a reasonable person could conclude that your statement would fall under the "spreading unsubstantiated rumors" category.
