The Carol Burnett Show was must see TV back in the 70's at 9 pm. The sketches were hilarious. Carol, Tim, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Wagner had such chemistry together that has never been duplicated on prime time TV.

Winnsboro goes over into arch rival territory and plucks their young and successful head football coach and you guys are wondering how they are going to justify paying for it? Two very good games that we actually had a shot at winning. An error here and there (Shelbyville didn’t have an earned run in either game! ), and some of our big sticks not producing was the difference in those games. But that’s baseball. Not taking anything away from the Dragons at all; they are a solid, talented team! Shelbyville’s last loss, ironically is vs. Alto back on Texas Independence Day! Lol We ended 13-13 which was indicative of our entire season. We had moments of great ball where we could play with anybody and then other times not so much. Just not very consistent. We have a lot to build on though with only one graduating senior and some strong kids from JV and the 8th grade that will contribute. All the best to Cushing. Y’all got hot at the right time and it’s a pretty dang good bracket that proved favorable for the Bearkats. Good luck vs. Shelbyville!

Only rumors. Nothing concrete. But I'll see what I can find out tonight. Making Carthage a regular season game really hurt our scrimmage prospects unless we are willing to travel like we did last season. We already have the two lone East Texas 6A schools on our schedule. That leaves only 3 possibilities from 5A Div I: JT, Lufkin, and Texas High. Any of them would be a good test. Esp. JT and LP. The only East Texas 5A Div II school not in our district is SS..... which... if you are going to travel all the way to SS... you may as well look for a quality DFW opponent IMHO. Now you're down to 4A Div I.... and we already have Carthage on the schedule too. Leaving only Henderson and Kilgore as possibilities. And Kilgore looks to be rebuilding a bit. I'm not sure how the current staff feels about 4A Div II...... I know we scrimmaged Pleasant Grove in 2016 and 2017, a series set up by Coach Harper. But the former coach dropped PG in favor of the long road trip to Waco Vs. Ellison. PG is a great program.....they would likely be the only 4A Div II program that would be considered. I expect another road trip IMHO........ I think it was a good experience to have a LONG road trip prior to the season. We don't have any real long road games this season... Jacksonville being the longest (89 miles). All the other road games are super close: Longview (23 miles) Carthage (28 miles) Hallsville (13 miles) Jacksonville (89 miles) Whitehouse (65 miles) I honestly don't ever recall so little traveling for the Mavs in a regular season as we do in 2019. Our district home games this season should all be doozies with Lindale, Nac, and PT..... likely the playoff favorites in the district along with us. Can't wait. This should be a fun season.

Happy fans are still here. We are excited about how hard these kids are working and the number of kids involved. These kids have not been worked like they are being worked now but they are enjoying it. Yes griffin is at CH and i don’t sense any hard feelings from any of the kids. They just want to win which is understanding after the last couple of years. He will be in the backfield which is where he’s being recruited as. All positive vibes coming from the Hill.

That is a great idea. So instead of getting whipped in 3A and 4A they can join forces and get whipped in everything being 5A. I think Palestine soccer is the only thing that has success and might be able to compete in 5A

It's amazing how people now days disrespect the game!!! When you make up your on rules on hits and errors you are disrespecting the game of baseball! I know some of you would do anything to make things look better for your side, but that's not the way the game of baseball is played. Parker pitched a great game one of the, no the best I've seen all year and that's all classifications. But he gave up a bunt single in the 2nd to Gray Hancock, because the throw was wide after the runner was passed the base, and Wise had a one hitter that was Parker in the 4th a double down the line. Two pitcher's that had great games! I promise I know what I'm talking about, played, coached THOUSANDS of games and a student of the game for over 50 Years. And I would never take anything a way from a kid that had a game like Parker did, he was really good like I told him all night long!!!!

Seriously. There are people who vote who can name all the Kardashians but can't name their Representative, or how many years a term is.
