  1. I don’t think they get past Guyer this year personally, but we’ll see.

  2. Herb Hand is getting whoever he wants. Aggie boards have had Conner penciled into its class for a year and half. Don't be surprised if in the end Foster and Tunmise end up at Texas as well. Them 2, Conner, and Milroe have been friends and played together since youth football. Conner will be a Guard at Texas IMO.

  3. I personally do NOT like it and wish they'd all go back to their respective schools. The kids that have come through L.I.S.D. since primary and elementary don't deserve this. Our home grown boys have a TRUE allegiance to this community and have been wanting to be Lobos well before the state title came. Then on top of that, NONE of what I have seen warrants some less than sub-par 2A and 3A opportunists wandering about. I'd rather win and lose with what's got us here. It ain't like we're getting athletes from the likes John Tyler, Lufkin, Rockwall, Allen or maybe even Evangel for that matter. We're talking about S-C-R-U-B-S. And, I mean the bottom corner of the Lay's potato chip bag type transfers, too. It absolutely amazes me what parents will do to make sure their son or daughter is on a winning team. I know we have "open" enrollment but, that has become a MAJOR loophole for football transfers and we're a better program than this. And, that's just my God's honest opinion of the matter.

  5. Donald Trump Ally Boris Johnson has been named the new Prime Minister of the UK. This is actually a very telling event. Conservative parties here and abroad are the sane “make sense” parties, as the liberal ones become more insane.

  7. I’ve read it on a couple sites.... possibly Bama, Clemson, etc... I cant remember everywhere I’ve seen it. It’s typically posters talking about it. I’ve seen it on Hornsports too. It doesn’t mean anything other than they are supposedly good friends and where Fong gets his Aggie recruiting info from

  8. From what I’ve read, it comes from the Notre Dame sites. Could be legit or it could be sour grapes. But it was after Elko left ND.

  11. Even when the oline was bad, it wasn’t because the weren’t recruiting well. Texas hasn’t recruited bad. Probably ever. It just didn’t develop the oline at all for a stretch of time. But it’s not like they were getting 2stars at the position. They have gotten 4stars on the oline the last majority of the years you are talking about.

  12. Yes I expect them to get those two for sure. I think A&M gets foster Jackson and Fatheree and both schools end up with very good Oline classes. The state is extremely deep for tackles in 2021.

  13. ...And the Buckeyes had a really "down" season by their own standards last season, and the discipline has just not been there for the last 4 years after Jeff. I "think" they will be much improved this season, but that will only happen if they avoid so many turnovers, block better, and avoid so many penalties on offense. The defense had to put the "black" back in the "Black Flag Defense" also. The turnover on our coaching staff has not helped us. Our young men have looked a little confused, especially on defense, though they got better late in the season. Our coaches just have to k.i.s.s. in order for progress to be made quicker and have more continuity. The costliest thing that has cost us wins the past 4 seasons is TURNOVERS. Good decision-making comes from discipline. I'm always hoping that we will get some of that discipline back that made us such a good team for so many years. We'll see. I could be wrong, but I think Silsbee has a puncher's chance to beat Newton, especially with it being early in the season. I really think that WO-S will get the win at Newton this season. I hope the Buckeyes get back to playing Buckeye football. If they do, I think they hand the Eagles another loss.

  22. Yeah I read an article that’s says turf companies mislead people and that turf is more expensive than maintaining natural grass. The article also said that replacement is a lot more than you stated.

  24. Lmao. While it IS expensive to install..... over the course of its life (about 10-12 seasons)... it’s significantly CHEAPER to maintain than grass. No watering, fertilizing, painting, paid man hours... list goes on. And no mud bowls. Not to artificially sweeten tour thread though....

  31. Finally got around to this. Did some all time research and some beginning in 1996 when the Big 12 formed. This was neat to see how much success both of these teams have had throughout history and “recently”. National titles since ‘96 are at one a piece. Oklahoma has 12 Big 12 conference titles and Texas has 3. Oklahoma’s overall record since ‘96 is 216-71, and their bowl record is 8-11. UT’s overall record since ‘96 is 203-91, and their bowl record is 12-7. OU has 7 Heisman Trophy winners; UT has 2. Recent Sooner Heisman winners are ‘03 White, ‘08 Bradford, ‘17 Mayfield, ‘18 Murray. OU All Time Record = 908-325-53 OU All Time Bowl Record = 29-21-1 UT All Time Record = 908-370-33 UT All Time Bowl Record = 29-24-2 OU All Time conference titles = 48 UT All Time conference titles = 32 OU has 80 Consensus All Americans UT has 60 Consensus All Americans OU has 7 national championships UT has 4 national championships OU has the highest win % at .762 since 1945. OU has the most wins (606) since WWII. OU has the longest winning streak ever at 47 Since ‘96 Oklahoma holds a 14-10 record head to head over Texas. Texas holds the all time series record at 62-47-5.

  32. Economy's doing so well, and state/local governments are continually restricting how teachers can discipline students, they're choosing better-paying private sector jobs. Info from a small-town HS AD I recently was in a conversation with.

  33. Sadly we will see more and more of this type of situations occur. Small schools and poorer districts are caught between a rock and a hard place as related to experienced/quality coaches and teachers. If you are still a member of THSCA go to their job board and check out how many job vacancies there still are at this late date. The last time I looked there are still over a thousand job openings and this isn't all of them. The bigger, richer districts can offer so much more (money wise) not to mention private industry, especially the oil industry offering 30-40 thousand dollars more than someone would make teaching and coaching. Then throw in the number of hours, poor working conditions, parents and administrators second guessing everything you do...why would someone NOT take the better job. The bottom line is there is a tremendous shortage of qualified coaches and teachers and unfortunately there is a limit to what the smaller districts can pay...the result is, you have to take what you can get...which is sad for the kids but that's the environment we are in now.

  42. I know you asked him but I’ll jump in..... Offense has to replace two skill players....... everyone else skill-wise is back. Will be a different look offense with new OC. Still should put up points and get yards. Defense should be as good as the defenses that Tatum had mid-late 00s...... front three is pretty much what needs to be replaced. Everyone else is back. Should be a fun season.
