  10. I’d rather see a governing body like the ncaa control college football’s interest than somebody like espn. When it becomes money driven it’ll go sour. These student athletes are considered amateur athletes hoping to become professionals. I’m not understanding how others don’t understand that. They’re getting a free education and everything they could need paid for for up to four years. They also receive stipends to help cover other expenses. Not to mention state of the art fitness, strength & conditioning and training. The only flaws I have with the ncaa is their lack of enforcement of the rules they have in place and their enforcement of the transfer system.

  11. C&C uses fishing math LOL. Always taller, heavier or faster. Cotton84 has been known to stretch the truth to get a response from certain posters. My numbers should be pretty close. PG won’t have a cakewalk to the QB. #77 vs #44, #48 or #40 one on one will be Power 5 vs Power 5 every snap.

  15. Hot dog, another post that liberals cannot refute, so I got the . How satisfying to post something so solid that the Left cannot reply, so all they have left is to put. on it. I do have to wonder, if folks continuously make post that the leftist know are true, why they don’t start to question their own false beliefs? Proof that you can lead a liberal to the truth, but you can’t make them think.

  21. Pay for play will fail in the long run ... it would totally ruin amateur football at the college level ... I don't see this working out as advertised by the kooks in Kalifornia and Florida believe ... I agree many of the NCAA rules need to be tweaked, but what the libtard Gov of Kalifornia is doing is not the answer ...

The only thing that could be said as fact was taggert wasn't a good hire.

  27. Not sure how many know that Stoney, Mav, AKA and Lion played football at Texas State under Fran back in the day. #9 is Mav and his double knee braces. Stoney in all my glory rocking the #19. Nobody could beat AKA’s sideline coolness with the cap and mullet. Greatest #98 to ever lace them up for the Cats, Ol Lion himself.

  32. Harmon West 2-way domination brings in ASB Player of the Week honors Caleb Beames Updated Wed Oct 02, 2019 9:18 PM CDT ALTO, Texas (KTRE/KLTV) - People walked away from Alto’s 45-10 win over Corrigan-Camden impressed with the play of Harmon West. On offense West went 13-23 for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for another touchdown. On the defensive side he had 11 tackles and 4 for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble and an interception. This is the second week in a row that an Alto player has won the Player of the Week award. Last week, Todd Duplichain won it. “It just shows the work we put in at Alto,” West said. It is more then me and Todd. It just shows the work we all do." Coach Ricky Meeks is not surprised. “I told them when they called me today about Harmon that we will have another one in a couple of weeks. Our kids are just playing well. They are playing with a ton of confidence. They are believing in what we are doing and trusting their teammates. That’s why we have the success.” West does not really watch much football other then his team’s game footage and scouting other teams so he doesn’t model his game after any one player. He does draw inspiration from his team. “I admire the line,” West said. “I think the offensive line they are the selfless people out here that no one sees.” https://www.kltv.com/2019/10/03/harmon-west-way-domination-bring-asb-player-week-honors/

  33. Don't trust the hype or the Sec bias. Little unexpected but proves the Sec is overrated and Big 12 is underrated. Teams with losing records by Conference. ACC: 2 (GA Tech, UNC)Big 12: 1 (Kansas)B1G: 3 (RUTG, PUR, NW)PAC-12: 3 (UCLA, ORST, STAN)SEC: 6 (SC, TENN, VAN, UK, ARK, OLE MISS)

  35. I'm not really expecting East Texas 5A Div I to change much in 2020. Lufkin will likely stay put in their south district. Texas High and JT are probably joined at the hip into a DFW district. It will be interesting to see if REL drops. Haven't heard much about that being a possibility this time around.... but I know in 2018... there was a lot of talk with Lee going 5A. IMHO they would flourish in that district. Longview probably isn't dropping. So that leaves things pretty intact for 5A Div I for another 2 seasons. BUTTTTT 5A Div II in East Texas could get interesting if the above post about Poteet dropping holds true. Poteet dropping to Div II is interesting...because there isn't anywhere for them to go in the present alignment. The Frisco/Denison/Denton district has 9 schools already. The Corsi/Ennis/Greenville/RC/SS district has 9 schools. The DISD/Red Oak district only has 8, so that's a possibility. But DISD could have another school lined up for that district. So what to do with Poteet? They could move Sulphur Springs over to 9-5A Div II to make room for Poteet in that Royse City/Greenville/Corsicana/Ennis district. SS could be joining MP, Marshall, Hallsville, PT, Nac, WH, Lindale, Jax.... for a 9 team district in East Texas. Provided none of the bubble teams (Lindale, SS, Jax) drop to 4A Div I. There aren't any candidates moving up it seems. A 9 team 9-5A Div II makes scheduling really easy (or hard depending on your perspective) for non-district play. Only 2 games to schedule. Which could make for some hard decisions for some. I know there's some debates about pros and cons of a 9 team district. The current state of East Texas 5A makes it seem a little BLAH. But if things were to improve and we saw a rebirth of SS, Marshall continued to trend up, PT and Nac continue upwards, WH same.... could be a great race. But improvement is needed across the board. Fun stuff to think/talk about. We will know alignment numbers and cutoffs in a few weeks..... that'll definitely spark some conversation.

  37. Since we have all the time in the world this week, and because you saw them against Rockwall, what was the big issue against the Jackets' 9th grade squad? Was it the short fields or is Rockwall's offense that solid?

  38. I felt for Quincy, he just couldn't stay healthy. But you're right. Carlin took the reins with two games to play against Lee in 2003. Lee was ranked 4th in the state that week. But they made the plays, and the defense came up big on the final play to win it, 22-21. Granted, he got shut out the next week vs Lp, and then of course the original bi-district loss to South Garland where neither team could do much. That would've been a big game to have had Malcolm Kelly playing, but believe he was out due to grades. We had a lot of injury issues that season. Quincy got 2.5 games into that 04 season before he re-injured himself vs Lake Highlands. Would've be interesting to see how King managed Quincy and Carlin through out the year if he had stayed healthy.

  41. Yes, Foster front 7 in 8th is ridiculous. So is Judson's. And keep in mind the 9th grade has a good defense already. I would also give Grant the edge. But Tutt is so damn good yall. You gotta go see him play....makes throws on the run you don't typically see from a middle schooler. I also don't talk about him much but Campbell Williams at Foster...its a shame he had to come up in the Tutt/Grant era. Tall QB who is a great baseball player. You know what's crazy? Grant's dad had similar situation back on those 2003 and 2004 teams. Quincy Grant was starter, but we had a backup those years that would have started at most places by the name of Carlin Freeman. Freeman did get to start alot of 2003 as sophomore and 2004 as JR because of Grant's knee issues. I was thinking about that earlier today. Btw, gotta post pone that small write up on upcoming talent. May still get it out late tonight or tomorrow.

  42. For the MOST part, yes. Especially QBs. The Haynes King's, Bivins Caraway's, Aaron Johnson's, Dez Chumley's all either went to Judson or Foster. I can't remember the last good Forest Park QB we had. But Forest Park still puts out dudes. Mainly athletic skill position players. Kybo Jackson-Jamerson on our current defense was an Eagle. Kaden Kearbey. Dakirin Buchanan. Former players like Eric Hawkins, DT Jackson, Ant Wiley, Thomas Jones, Braylynn Anthony, Tylan Miller etc.
