  1. This team is just an average NFL team with some "star" names. I see us going 9-7 this year, and missing the playoffs. I wouldn't get my hopes up after next week, because the Jets are Miami north. Dak is only worth $20 million. He had a lot of yards passing today, but three ints in a game isn't going to cut it. Hopefully this will bring about the demise of the Red Clapper. He's had three good years out of 10. That might cut it in baseball, but not in football.

  2. FYI: Big Sandy has a JV! They did not last year, so this is good! We’ll have a full slate of Thursday night football!

  8. Eventually, you just have to let go and move on. It is obvious your guy did not get the job. I do not know Coach King, but what I read is he has a vision of the type of program he wants for the Leopards. With the current events that have transpired, he and the administration need all of the support that they can get. Being an antagonist is going to do nothing but bring the program down further.

  11. This past Friday night is what "Friday Night Lights" is to Texas footbal. It was a great atmosphere with two classy BEast Texas teams giving it their all. In the end, the better team won. Carthage has a great team top to bottom. The depth of Carthage made a huge difference in this game, along with the coaching that knows how to use those players during the game. I thought Coach Surrant did a great job of running from Landon as well as running sideline to sideline during the game. That strategy slowly wore down the the defensive line. That is not an easy task to do because PG has an incredible strength and conditioning program. In addition, I read some where that the Carthage coaching staff swapped the offensive line around during the game to better match the PG defensive line. If so, that is impressive. Finally, I hope both teams get all players healthy for the second half of the seasn. PG, especially needs two guys to get well for the long run. Good luck to the Bulldogs on the rest of the season! Note, I had the pleasure to meet the voice of the Dawgs, Larry Allen. He is a very nice guy, and I wish PG had someone like him calling the Hawk games on the radio.

  12. Some of you Carthage boys have set your expectations way to high for Ingram. He was a great small school high school RB. You're acting like he's Earl Campbell or Ricky Williams. He's a solid College RB that may have a chance to get drafted. I trust Herman and the offensive staff to get the best out of him. He's only a Sophomore and will continue to get better.

  13. You guys realize Ingram went out early in the game injured and probably wasn't the same when he came back right? He's still leading the team in rushing at almost 5 yard per carry.

  14. I passed your concerns to the Atlanta coaching staff and they will consider your request to teach a new offense half way through the season.

  15. I should be at every single game the rest of the way (though I'll be honest, the Midway/Temple game the week we play Lee is extremely tempting to skip our's for). Definitely will be at all the Mesquite games since it's right down the road from me. Come sit with the group this week! (jb, WP4L, 84, 73 and myself)

  19. Going to be a tough one but those Vandals will give it all they have. I just hope we at least get our starting qb back for this game. I'll guarantee 100% for sure the red team wins...

  20. That PT passing attack is too good to chalk up an easy win for anyone. JMHO. Lindale and Marshall Will have to earn wins over the Pirates. Week 11 at Maverick Stadium could Very well be for the district championship. Wonder if PT would bring the house and sell out their side. NEVER seen PT do anything like that. But a short drive road game for the DC might do it. But first.... we gotta take care of MP, win at the Tomato Bowl, beat Nac, and win at WH. We can’t overlook anyone

  23. wonder if they have tried to put too much weight on ingram trying to make him something he is not. ellinger not finding him passing out of backfield where he is in space which is where he is best. he is being misused in my opinion. rarely has anywhere to run. herman so far is a b+ coach.

  24. The Dawgs that played L-E and Gilmer should win by 14-17. The Dawgs that played Marshall and P G should win by 24+.

  25. At the end of the day.... IMHO..... no one in 9-5A is good enough to overlook any team. No matter what their record is. At least not from what I've seen thus far this season.

  26. I'll amend.... Lamar and Katy are the wildcards TBH. Last year Lamar was (7-3) when they came to Marshall and they were awful. I don't think Montgomery was very good either when they lost to Lindale. But I don't see anyone beating AMC or Huntsville for sure.

  29. It was closer than the score indicated. Carthage pulled away in the 4th. PG gave carthage everything it wanted and preparing both for long playoff runs. All you gotta do is watch film or view it on YouTube instead of the ridiculous notion that pleasant Grove was annihilated.

  37. Just not sure of the Horns playing with only 3 downlineman on D with their secondary hurting anyway. Maybe they can show up next week and surprise Okie with a different alignment. Of course next week they will face a running threat with Hurts at QB, so maybe they need to stay with only 3 down in that game.

  38. The amount of incorrect information about both last night’s situation and liberty Eylau in general in this thread is unreal. Guys please remember that these are kids. Mistakes will be made. These are 2 great football programs. One is close to being on top right now and the other is struggling. It happens. It’s a cycle. sometimes everyone on here needs to take a step back and remember that high school sports are about the kids. in regards to the Atlanta game hellrazor, there was nothing dirty in that game man... go watch the game film. There were some very questionable calls. LE is playing a ton of sophomores right now. We are in a rebuilding year... we knew that a rebuilding year plus this insanely tough schedule wasn’t a great combination.. but we’ll get through it. watch out for the leopards the next few years though... there are some good classes coming. this is all I will say on this topic. #KALE

  40. Oline has been the main issue so far this season. We even had Rex come and try to help them. We’ve had a few injuries, but I’m not going to make excuses. Every single guy has struggled at some point and the basic spread scheme doesn’t help things. We just can’t run the ball. Main thing hurting this team right now imo. Defense and passing game has been good though. We just had a few injuries on defense last night, which probably led to those three scoring possessions for Magnolia. Because when Ingram (our linebacker) went out, the bulldogs were able to run on us. Before that....nothing. So fatigue and injuries probably hurt us on that side last night. Only a week to figure it out before CS comes to town. Hope we can figure out something. We’re still 4-1....I’ll take a ugly win any day of the week over a lost. Just want us to play better.

  41. 8-5A Div II Ennis over RC 38-21 Corsicana over Terrell 42-7 Greenville over North Forney 49-38 Sul Springs over Forney 32-13 Kaufman- BYE STANDINGS Ennis (4-0) (5-1) Corsicana (4-0) (5-1) Royse City (2-1) (4-1) Greenville (2-1) (3-2) North Forney (1-3) (3-3) Forney (1-3) (2-4) Terrell (1-3) (1-5) Sulphur Springs (1-2) (1-4) Kaufman (0-3) (0-5) It appears the district championship will be decided on November 1st when Ennis travels to Corsicana. Royse City was knocked out of the unbeaten ranks with their loss to Ennis on Friday. Meanwhile the Lions remain tied with Corsicana for first place with the Tiger's win over Terrell. Greenville moved into a tie for third with their win over North Forney Three teams currently have one district win. Big showdown between Greenville and RC in two weeks for third place. Turning out to be a fun race. ---------- 9-5A DIV II Marshall over Hallsville 47-15 Pine Tree over MP 56-25 Lindale over Nac 37-10 Whitehouse over Jacksonville 25-13 Standings Pine Tree (2-0) (3-2) Whitehouse (2-0) (3-2) Marshall (2-0) (2-3) Lindale (1-1) (3-2) Nacogdoches (1-1) (1-4) Hallsville (0-2) (2-3) Mt. Pleasant (0-2) (2-3) Jacksonville (0-2) (1-4) Lindale's win over Nac was the most unexpected outcome on the night. The Eagles asserted themselves in the middle of the district title race with the victory. Pine Tree's offense continues to hum along. Marshall's offense appears to be coming around nicely. Hallsville, MP, and Jax are starting to get behind the 8-ball for the playoffs..... wins are needed. --------- 7-5A Div I McKinney North beat Texas High 62-41 John Tyler beat Wylie East 48-7 Mesquite Poteet beat Sherman 44-21 West Mesquite- OFF Standings McKinney North (2-0) (5-1) John Tyler (2-0) (2-4) West Mesquite (1-0) (1-4) Mesquite Poteet (1-0) (2-3) Texas High (0-2) (3-3) Sherman (0-2) (3-2) Wylie East (0-2) (2-4) McKinney North and John Tyler both got big wins Friday to improve to (2-0). But West Mesquite and Poteet can't be ignored as both are (1-0). MN and JT face off in 2 weeks.... but the Lions can't overlook WM even though they are (1-4). Texas High, Sherman, and Wylie East are all winless and in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. ---------- 8-5A DIv II Lufkin beat Magnolia 24-18 College Station beat Waller 38-7 Tomball beat Caney Creek 41-19 Magnolia West over Willis 54-30 Standings College Station (2-0) (4-1) Lufkin (2-0) (4-1) Magnolia West (2-0) (3-2) Magnolia (1-1) (3-2) Tomball (1-1) (2-3) WIllis (0-2) (1-4) Caney Creek (0-2) (1-4) Waller (0-2) (0-4) College Station continues to roll with a big win over winless Waller. Lufkin slipped passed a pesky Magnolia team. LP hosts College Station next week in what could be for the district championship. Magnolia West can't be ignored. ---------------- Miss anything? I'll post the Week 7 schedule later today.

  42. Literally everyone. Those teams beat up on each other so much, especially in 2003. Longview, Lee and Lufkin were all top 5 going into district. By the end of it, I know we were just completely destroyed. Wouldve been interesting to see what would’ve happened if Rockwall and DeSoto didn’t fight that battle (and win).
