Time on my hands. The Texas defense is by no means elite, but it's not as bad as being made out to be. 133 points given up on the year, but over half of this (70) has been given up in the 4th quarter. 14 to La Tech when Texas was up 40 or whatever to 0 with the backups in. 13 to Rice with the game over and backups in. 7 to Oklahoma State due to a muffed punt. 14 to WVU with game in hand and 2nd/3rd string in. Yeah the LSU game they stunk in the 4th when one stop probably wins/ties it. Texas is also near the top in turnovers. So yes, they aren't a top 20/elite or whatever defense, but they aren't as terrible as some are making it out to be.3 points

Actually, I can. The fact is, there are certain programs where QB's stats are inflated, and misleading....Baylor, Texas Tech, Washington State (under Leach), OU. And I believe the fact that we have 2 years worth of stats on Hurts at Alabama to compare, helps show that. He lost his job to Tua for a reason. And in Tua's first year, playing in the same system, with the same coaches, against the same competition, he obliterated anything Hurts did as the starter there. Now, all of a sudden, Hurts is putting up the same numbers we've seen every other QB in the OU offense put up, and I'm supposed to jump on board in believing it's because he's the best QB in college football?3 points

Uh huh, kind of like when a man abuses a woman and then says she deserved it. Whatever...y'all just keep on proving my point. Thanks.2 points

Why in the word would a picture of his wife be relevant to this topic? Some of y'all don't care about the facts. By the way, she is also a teacher, but I'm sure you will have some derogatory and disrespectful comments about that, too, just like the things you have said about the kids from Mt. Vernon and women associated with them. The relative of the player who moved from Kansas was called a stripper on here just because somebody was trying to be a big man. I still don't get what makes grown "men" act this way.2 points

Like I said about 8 pages back. It's no different than anything else man. Do you believe there should be tickets issued for breaking traffic laws? Just because you get caught and someone else doesn't, doesn't mean you don't have to pay the price. This is completely self-inflicted.2 points

The people of Hong Kong are not cool with having to go to China to be tried for made up charges agians the state. So they protested, China is beating them, Apple killed the App that let the people of Hong Kong communicate with each other. The GM for the Rockets tweeted he supported Hong Kong, China say no more NBA in China unless the NBA tows the line, Steve Kerr who says everything Trump is doing is wrong and totalitarian in form, when asked about Hong Kong act like Judas Iscariot so to keep his money with China and betrays his christian protesting mantra and I am pretty sure the President of China "Xi" somehow made the NBA all star team with his mad skills. https://babylonbee.com/news/nba-requiring-players-to-stand-for-chinese-national-anthem https://babylonbee.com/news/president-xi-makes-nba-all-star-team The Bee is truthful satire BTW2 points

yep, if they own the property in the district (paying school taxes)...kids of employees that work in the district...and/or have some residency somewhere there in the district, then this all should be a MUTED discussion --> seems that people should step back and give the kids an opportunity to play (and to even consider having MVISD forfeit their past wins --> SICK). that's what bothers me...I have no dog in the MVISD hunt aside from enjoying Briles. as a coach, I am always going to favor kids getting their chance to play a max in their HS/college, etc career. it all ends too fast...enjoy it and let them play while they can.2 points

My opinion is they were getting worn down because of lack of depth. Now I am not disagreeing with what TDJ89 is saying about not being physical enough. I also think they can get tougher on defense as well. They have a few soft players on defense that are not interested in coming down and making contact. But they do have some that are physical, but the entire defense has to be physical and have that mentality and they have a few that just don't. If they can get those few to get that mentality, I think the defense improves a lot. I think they will improve some with added depth they are getting back this week. They have just had quite a few players out that would have helped on defense and depth. And 2 that are coming back are pretty tough and physical from what I have heard. So may start seeing some changes with that side of the ball. I have also heard a couple of position swaps on defense that will make a difference with the toughness of the defense.2 points

I was thinking about ending it all last night, but then I said wait "I have not checked on all this drama on Smoaky, and I found hope" On a heavier note if you know somebody and they look like they are struggling do not be afraid to reach out to them. https://www.mission22.com/1 point

I've always thought that people with the "The world is out to get me" mentality, actually suffered from a mental disorder. I don't think it's normal or healthy to think that way.1 point

That is sad especially to the kids that earned it. Get rid of the NCAA. The punishment doesn't fit the crime.1 point

Maybe Briles should have been looking at a TAPPS school or one in California that allows this kind of stuff. There's lots of places in the USA where transfers are allowed without much of any rules in place. Even in a city school in a metro area like Houston, Austin, or Dallas he would have a better chance than a small town school in East Texas......that's asking for trouble as you can see now. He should've known that!1 point

I clearly said outside of LSU... My statement is more towards the like Saturday of osu and WVU gave them pretty good games and neither has shown a lot this year. Especially WVU. My point is, Everyone points towards that LSU game and that is the only measuring stick you guys want to use. When I point out the defensive struggles they showed vs WVU and osu and question whether they are a top 10 caliber team because of it, you guys act like I’m a monster. Yes they played LSU well and that’s a good game. Yes they also looked like a poor defensive team against WVU last week. I’m sorry I’m willing to point out flaws in your mighty longhorns but they are there. We will see more of what they are about after this weekend. I don’t think that’s being unfair in the slightest.1 point

There hasn't been much respect for the three new MV kids on this forum all season long. They have been demeaned and mocked and ridiculed and have had so many untrue things posted about them. One particular poster, who doesn't even live in MV's district, seems to have made it his personal mission to talk bad about them nonstop, and then usually a lot more join in. I just don't get it. I have wondered for weeks now what is wrong with a person that would make them say things like that about kids and also women. Obviously, it speaks to the person's character, but, really, what does a person get out of it? Who knows...1 point

Aaahhhh I forgot D1 plays before D2. It really makes no difference, because I'll be there the entire time, regardless of if any of these teams make it or not.1 point
