  1. Elysian fields needs to win, but they also need Daingerfield to beat New Diana. They need both to happen to make the playoffs, and they get the 3 seed of they both happen. There is no other path to the playoffs for Elysian Fields. Here is what I'm fairly certain of (assuming PP beats QC and W beats OC - which are safe bets I think) : If New Diana wins, the EF v DK game doesn't matter, and these are the seeds : 1) PP 2) ND 3) DF 4) W If Daingerfield and Elysian Fields win : 1 )DF 2) PP 3) EF 4) see NOTE below If Daingerfield and DeKalb win : 1) DF 2) PP 3) ND 4) W NOTE : In the event that Daingerfield and Elysian Fields win, the 4 seed will be between New Diana and Waskom. I'm not confident enough in how the tie breakers work to assert which it would be because there is too much conflicting data. Wild74 heard from a Waskom coach that they use points first, then head-to-head - in which case New Diana would win this tie-breaker, but 1) I haven't found any district that uses that method - the methods they use would make Waskom the winner of the tie-breaker, and 2) that same coach told Wild that the only scenario where Waskom makes the playoffs is if DeKalb beats Elysian Fields, and that's not the case. Waskom would make the playoffs if New Diana beats Daingerfield regardless of what happens in the EF/DK game. For these reasons, I'm not calling who the 4 seed would be in this scenario.

  2. I hear. You know my motto..... enjoy the journey you know I always pull for the Pack and any team from East Texas vs the rest of the state. Look like the Pack will be alright in D1R2. A tough region but it is all about match ups.

  3. Well we are 1 game away from the bracket being set in stone. Here’s a rundown of where all of the districts stand. District 9 Current Standings 1 Centerville (4-0) 2 Normangee (3-1) 3 Leon (3-1) 4 Cayuga (1-3) 5 Kerens (1-3) 6 Cross Roads (0-4) Week 11 Centerville vs Leon; Kerens vs Normangee; Cayuga vs Cross Roads Locks: Centerville, Normangee and Leon are IN Elimimated None Centerville clinches 1 seed with win; Leon clinches 1 seed with win and Normangee loss; A Leon win and a Normangee win send the 1 seed tie breaker to points; Cayuga clinches 4 seed with win; Kerens must win and have Cayuga lose to get 4 seed; if Kerens and Cayuga both lose, there is a 3 way tie for 4th with those 2 and cross roads; Centerville has head to head over Normangee Normangee has head to head over Leon Cayuga has head to head over Kerens District 10 Current Standings 1 Alto (4-0) 2 Carlisle (3-1) 3 Hawkins (3-1) 4 Big Sandy (1-3) 5 Union Grove (1-3) 6 Cushing (0-4) Locks: Alto is in as 1 seed, Carlisle and Hawkins are IN Eliminated: None Week 11 Alto vs Union Grove; Carlisle vs Hawkins, Cushing vs Big Sandy Hawkins and Carlisle are playing for the 2 seed; loser is 3 seed; Big Sandy clinches 4 seed with win over Cushing; union Grove must win and have Cushing win to clinch 4 seed; a Cushing win and Union Grove loss makes a 3 way tie between those 2 and Big Sandy; District 11 Current Standings 1 Joaquin (5-0) 2 Harleton (4-1) 3 Garrison (3-3) 4 Timpson (2-3) 5 Linden-Kildare (2-3) 6 Beckville (1-4) 7 Tenaha (1-4) Locks: Joaquin, Harleton and Garrison are IN Eliminated: Tenaha Week 11 Joaquin vs Harleton; Timpson vs Beckville; Tenaha vs Linden-Kildare; Garrison BYE Joaquin and Harleton will determine 1 & 2 seed; Timpson is in and clinches 3 seed with a win; A Timpson win (no matter other results) eliminates everyone else and Garrison is the 4 seed; A Timpson loss opens up a Pandora’s box of possibilities...Garrison would be the 3 seed; LK could claim the 4 seed with a win; A Tenaha win in this scenario would create a 4 way tie for 4th between Timpson, Beckville, LK and Tenaha...Tenaha and Beckville would be 2-1 against the others, LK & Timpson would be 1-2. Beckville would then have the head to head on Tenaha and thus claim the 4 seed District 12 Current Standings 1 San Augustine (4-0) 2 Groveton (3-1) 3 Shelbyville (3-1) 4 Deweyville (1-3) 5 West Sabine (1-3) 6 Hull-Daisetta (0-4) Locks: SA, Groveton and Shelbyville are IN Eliminated: Hull-Daisetta Week 11: SA vs Shelbyville, Groveton vs HD; West Sabine vs Deweyville SA clinches 1 seed with win; Shelbyville clinches 1 seed with win and Groveton loss; Groveton clinches 2 seed with win and SA win; 3 way tie going down to points occurs with Shelbyville and Groveton wins; West Sabine and Deweyville winner is the 4 seed; Predicted Playoff Bracket (W9) Centerville vs (F10) Big Sandy (R12) Groveton vs (T11) Timpson (W10) Alto vs (F9) Cayuga (R11) Harleton vs (T12) Shelbyville (W11) Joaquin vs (F12) Deweyville (R10) Carlisle vs (T9) Leon (W12) San Augustine vs (F11) Garrison (R9) Normangee vs (T10) Hawkins

  4. Thanks, guys. These kids have come a long way since 0-40. After that start to the decade, happy to see them end the 2010's on a strong note. Who empties the stands onto the field after a win to lock up fourth place? We do. Also our first winning season since 2009.

  5. 1. Daingerfield 2. Paul Pewitt 3. EF 4. New Diana All of this is based on New Diana losing to DF and EF beating DeKalb. My understanding head to head is the second thing that counts points are the first thing that counts. I was told that by a coach at Waskom. The driver seat belong to EF

  6. Jefferson had more mistakes this week than they did last week lol. They didn't play bad last week. Hooks had way more chances to score than Atlanta did. I'll tell you where this game went wrong. The Hooks coach went into panic mode when they went down 14-0. Despite the score, Hooks o-line was the real deal. The QB had all day to throw the ball. They completely abandoned the running game when they got behind 14-0. Hooks gets the ball with 2:30 to go in the 2nd, and all 3 timeouts. Hooks called 4 consecutive pass plays. 1st was an interception (called back for pass interference, which I didn't see), the next 3 were all "should have been" picks. Hooks punts, Jeffy threws an INT on the first play. Hooks turns around and finally throws a pick that would stick, and Jeffy would eventually score to make it 21-0. I will say this though. It's probably hard to abandon the passing game when the receivers are open. The Hooks QB missed on 6 or 7 wide open targets in the first half. Missed by maybe a foot. The kid can sling the ball, but he was just off. The running game I feel like was their strong suit though, especially considering how good their offensive line was (as advertised). Jefferson was sending 5-6 defenders early, and got zero pressure. Hooks drove right down the field in a 6 minute drive. Jefferson did adjust, but I still felt like Hooks abandoned the running game way too early.

  7. Your problem Cujo16, you don’t want to hear or see the truth. JT isn’t that good. I told you that earlier this season. I told you beating up on WM and Wylie East wasn’t going to change that, but of course y’all brought up last year. Last year this....last year that. This ain’t last year. This JT team isn’t good. Those are the facts. Stop making excuses and open your eyes. You are who we all thought you were.

  8. I think it just goes to show how much Kamden Perry raised the level of play at that position last year as well. The other receivers wanted to work hard and raise their level of play to where his was at and as fans and alumni we EXPECTED the returning receivers to bring that same work ethic and build off of what was established last year.

  11. For the 2nd year in a row, a DCT was with the Top Brass of the visiting team at Jack V Murphy Bear Stadium . It was left in vehicle ready to present BUT Last years Tatum Game was supposed to be a trophy presentation on our field to Tatum by our ex Superintendent - but instead he had to take it back with him . This year , Sabine had it ready to present but had to leave it in the vehicle and take it back on a short trip back down Hwy 135! the ole saying goes, “ it ain’t over ‘ till it’s over”

  14. Took us a while to put it together too. They had a sense of urgency last night that I haven’t seen all year. I also think everyone has settled into their positions. I told you this week that I thought we were starting to click and everyone wrote it off to looking good against a bad White Oak team but Sabine isn’t a bad team and we continued to get better. Should be fun the rest of the way.

  15. I think I read where the max points for a win is 15. If so then: Hooks beats Atlanta: 1.Hooks 2.Jeff 3.MV 4.HS Atl wins by 15+: 1.Jeff 2.Atl 3.Hooks 4.MV Atl wins by 14: 1.Jeff 2.Hooks 3.Atl 4.MV Atl wins by 13 or less: 1.Jeff 2.Hooks 3.MV 4.Atl

  30. They had a great gameplan. shorten the game and keep Kilgore offense off the field. I am so glad that Coach Clark left us high and dry. Coach Angel was a blessing in disguise.

  40. Now, this I believe. Because I can’t imagine anyone that’s completely sane to comment that Alto is a “has been” team. What we are is a legacy team. That had about 3 rough years in a 30 year stretch (It happens in most programs occasionally). Regardless, I like our chances.
