Agree 100% to what I bolded and bolded and underlined. A&M is an investment for the conference. They never would’ve gone after Texas, because Texas would’ve been a huge threat to their elites. Didn’t want OU in the SEC West either, same reasoning. A&M was the perfect university for the SEC to grab up. Huge, dedicated fan base with thousands and thousands of alumni across the country and they most likely will never have sustained success and will not unseat Alabama or LSU in the west. A&M gets the SEC millions of additional viewers, legitimate recruiting pipelines and ties to Texas players without messing up their sandbox. A&M gets what they want to. Kind of get a separation from UT, get more money in the SEC tv deal and get to wear the SEC patch on their jerseys and get to chant “SEC, SEC, SEC!” It actually is a win-win for the Aggies and the conference.5 points

The Landyn Grant-Jalen Hale connection will be talked about for years to come. For now, lets enjoy HK for the next few weeks that we have em. Been a fun ride with this dude, and probably the most decorated Lobo ever with all of the accolades.4 points

This will probably be the last chance I get to post before the games tomorrow night. We go from rivals to brothers until we meet again in the playoffs. Good luck to the Wildcats, Lions, and Dawgs! And go Bulldogs!3 points

You evidently don't know Razorback fans like I do. That is not acceptable. They want to be in a bowl game every year, ranked every year, and compete for a National Title that they think they deserve since their fictional one in 1964.3 points

Is ND a balanced offense or heavy pass, or heavy run ? Just wondering. I guess you have a good run defense. How about your pass defense? I pray both teams play there best to their abilities and come out of this game injury free. Also for safe travel for players, bands, cheerleaders and spectators.3 points

Well district projections/predictions are different than state rankings, where prior to this year, most voting had no idea who they were voting for/had never seen them and just voting off known names. I enjoy predictions and projections (obviously). State rankings, meh. Even so, LONGVIEW being amongst all the Allen, Lake Travis, Duncanville and North Shores of the world is an extremely high nod to this program imo.2 points

Regional bias in DFW . They only include you guys cause the lobos are in a District with metroplex teams. East Tx as whole generally gets disrespected as whole.2 points

Come on, man. Lion posts what he thinks sounds smart, whether it's true or not. I guess that's better than his embarrassing weekly "Longview won't win come playoff time" spiel that he used to post.2 points

Meh. I say you play to win. Ask Temple how that went last year (and no matter what Wildcat fans say, they threw that game against Cove). Either way, karma comes back around. I don't think they make it to State.2 points

I would even say throw our second round games in there as well the last couple of years. 2012 and 2013 we had Rowlett. First game we struggled until after halftime, second game we dominated most the way. 2014 and 2015 we had Mansfield ISD games which were good games. 2016 failed to make it. 2017 and 2018 we had Jesuit then Prosper, which were over before halftime, though that Prosper game was a lot of fun just having our crowd in that place. Meh, we play who gets put in front of us. Nothing we can do, unlike West Brook over there throwing games to go an easier route.2 points

Slive didn’t give two rips about the rivalry. If he did it would be played every year. Those types of games are scheduled every year in the sec (yes, as regular season games)and are protected by the sec’s late ooc scheduling. SCar-Clemson, Georgia-Georgia Tech, Florida-Florida State, etc. the sec ensures those happen annually so u can’t say they’re protecting the rivalry from being a dud of a game. They had intentions and you will never agree, but the sec didn’t want to take a chance and let aTm lose to a bad Texas team. They chose somebody else and gave them exposure while protecting their Investment in the state of Texas. And yes aTm is an investment for the sec. it got them TVs, more recruiting and a team that will likely not mess up their original teams hierarchy. If slive, or the current commish, cared about the rivalries being subpar matchups he’d rethink some of those protected oOC games that have been crappy games for a while.2 points

Okay so after skimming this thread, what I understand is.... Spring Hill scored a lot of points in week 1. Because of that, Lufkin fans are mad at Quick (the poster- FrankLucas/TobinFrost… not their coach) because Katy hasn't played a game outside of Houston since 2003. Therefore, North Shore will drop several passes and beat themselves, causing Longview to win at home against Temple, but they won't be dominating in doing so, meaning Haynes King will be gone next season and AKA is mad as Hell that Baylor is gonna beat OU. Did I get all that right?2 points

Great post. This witch hunt, and that is an accurate descriptive term, has gone from ridiculous to scary. For the Democrats to be compared to the KGB by a man with Dershowitz’s credentials, and a Liberal Democrat, should strike fear in the hearts of anyone who loves America, Conservative or Liberal.1 point

His resume in athletics at Longview high is damn near untouchable. All american in football...state champ in hoops...state champ in track...just the best athlete ever at Longview. But Hale I believe is gonna challenge all of that.1 point

I think 1 1/2 years is too short of a time period to judge a head coach. You have to weed out the prior coaches recruits, and bring in your players. He hasn't had enough time. I think coaches need time to bring in their players to fit their system. Arkansas simply thinks they're a national powerhouse, and they never have been. The best season they've had in recent years is #5 in 2011, before that you have to go back to 1964 and 1965 when they finished #2 in the final polls, but did claim a National Championship along with Alabama in 1964. They haven't ever won one outright. They had some success in the 70's and 80's, but could only be ranked as high as #8 in 1981 finishing behind SMU. SMU's only loss that year was 9-7 to Texas, and I was at that game. They brought their own demise and the demise of the old SWC when they left in 1990. They can keep suffering in the SEC for all I care . They did it to themselves and the SWC which was one of the best conferences in the past.1 point

What I see is a fumble. In real time I see his shoulder coming forward, and his arm going down to his body as if to cradle the ball. Then he lost control of it and it hit the ground.1 point

There’s NEVER anything wrong with competing. The team playing the 0-10 team is still in a competitive environment. It only gets them better for the following week. I also believe an 0-10 varsity team is better than your JV. My opinion.1 point
