  1. You know the difference between a Baptist and Methodist? Methodists park in front of the beer store!

  2. Keeping Moore may have a lot to do with Dak's comfort level. They seem to be leaning very heavily on McCarthy's ability to improve Dak's play. McCarthy is an offensive guy and can take advantage of what Moore does well, and reject what he doesn't. I think what will happen; Moore will lay out the game plans, and McCarthy will call the plays during the game. That's just a guess on my part.

  6. Also the second greatest of all commandments is : Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV) 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

  11. Definately the Brockermeyer's. Herman can't mess this up. Tommy gets all the press, but James got rave reviews at the future 50 thing this past weekend at Center. I think he'll be knocking on the door as a top 100 prospect in the end, the knock on him so far is his weight. Byrd will probably drop from a 5*. Main Rivals guy said he struggled, although he played exclusively DT this past season for Duncanville, so that's not a surprise going to OT reps. I just don't see Jackson at Texas. He's an a&m legacy. This will be like the Collins recruitment IMO. He'll visit Texas some, Texas will think they may have a chance, but in the end he'll go to a&m. Jackson and Sanders would be an elite DE haul though. I'm curious if maybe Derrick Harris could end up as DE/stand-up OLB. Definately want Quay Davis back. He's got some Dez Bryant in him. Tunmise is a wild card. He likes Texas, but hated Orlando's scheme. I hope Texas lands 1 of Wheaton or LJ Johnson. Texas needs to land some stud CB's for this class as well. Ibraheem is a must get.

  12. I could see Broughton getting some rotation along the DL since he's an EE. Think I saw Omeire is an EE, and if so I could see him getting some snaps. Bijan definitely. The rest probably red shirt.

  16. I'd say this is on point. This team is now all Herman recruits and no excuses. After LSU, OU, and @ OK State, Texas "should" win the other games, but as we've seen that is far from a given. I'm hoping with a more simplified defense and just letting players make plays will be a big improvement on that side of the ball. Texas defense's in the part were at it's best under Chizik and Muschamp when they just let guys go play. Diaz, Bedford, and Orlando all had good 1st years, but were figured out afterwards and also benefited from upperclassmen the 1st years. Roach was the only Sr. that played on defense in the Bowl Game and I don't think it was shocking the defense looked it's best all year with a simplified scheme/4-man look.

  19. I go to a fairly large First Baptist Church, with a security team that includes current/retired LEOs and servicemen. Anyone suggesting patdowns or "polite searches" will be thrown out faster than a Methodist.

  23. I actually kinda like the idea that someone came up with the other day. I think it may have been someone on this forum. The Senate should set a time frame. Send over the Articles in X number of days, or Y happens. I think whoever it was suggested that the House should have 25 days (though I think I'd make it a month) to send over the articles, or the Senate automatically acquits. That, or they need to actually codify rules as to what happens, when, and how. And follow them. One thing I don't understand, though. I understand that McConnell doesn't want Pelosi to send over the articles. But if he's claiming he's got the votes to start a trial, why can't the Senate just get their own copy of the articles (heck, they're downloadable online) and use those? Maybe I'm missing something.

  24. No doubt that it is a VERY far stretch. It is purely a seeding game now. You want to run the table in the conference so that you wind up in the low double digit seeds and not a 14/15 seed. At the end of the day though...gotta get right in 1 weekend in Katy or the previous 30 some odd games are irrelevant.

  27. I can tell you without a doubt, the day I get asked if I mind being “politely searched” before I go into a church to worship is the day I find another church. Furthermore, as a member of my church’s security team, the day I’m asked to perform “polite searches” is the day I find another place to worship. As a church, we are in the business of spreading the gospel. We do this, in part, by providing an example of a Christlike life. I may have missed it, but I don’t recall anywhere in the Gospels where Jesus ordered His disciples to perform “polite searches” to make sure worshipers weren’t carrying swords.

  28. I have a story about the Night Songs/Slippery When Wet concert at Hirsch. I'm a Bob Uecker type when it comes to concerts, and I like to be as close to the stage as I possibly can. I actually used S&H Green Stamps to pay for the entire trip. Back then they would give you money for the books. My Momma had been saving them for years since we last used them. So I drug out the collection, and began pasting them with a sponge and water. I had enough books to cash them in for around $75. That's a lot of money back in 1986 especially for a 17 year old teenager. Tickets $30 for the show, $10 gas that was a full tank back then, $15 concert t-shirt, $10 for a stop at McDonalds on the way home. We head to the show on February 10, 1987 right after getting out of school. We arrived around 5:30 pm, and we're one of the first in line to enter. My fiancee and I go directly to the floor, she had a crush on Jon. Cinderealla comes out, and If I remember right "Night Songs" was the first song of their set. There is only one line of people ahead of us, and they are putting on the performance as you that was great. I don't know if she didn't eat lunch that day, or if it was vertigo, but she passes out. I catch her, and the people around us help lift her over the gate, and they take her backstage. This is before cell phones or pagers mind you. Well, what am I supposed to do. I have to find her, to make sure she's safe. I leave immediately make my way through the sold out crowd. I begin looking for someone with security, and they lead me to the west side of the building. About 15 minutes later she shows up escorted by security. We missed half their set, plus half of Bon Jovi's set. I'm going well this is great. We made our way back to the floor, and were around the same spot we were at with the Def Leppard concert. Lights go out, and the next thing I know Bon Jovi is about 10 feet away on the high rise at the back of the floor. He tells a story about growing up and breaks into "Never Say Goodbye" then they "fly" him back to the stage with a trapeze contraption. I was so upset with her, but that was the highlight of that concert. I'll never know why she passed out, but that's what ruined that concert for me.

  40. Why doesn't Moscow Mitch do his duty and go about his business like he is supposed to? You know, holding up every single bill, denying Supreme Court confirmation hearings, and then not even pretending to be interested in doing things in an appropriate and serious manner regarding impeachment doesn't make him a statesman, by any stretch, but he could at least try.
