A premiere ETX coaching job and you guys have it narrowed down to 2 candidates who are right here local. Why would they limit it to that kind of search? They are gonna get candidates from all over! Why y’all looking for a Gilmer man. Far as I know Surratt had barely ever been to Carthage when he was hired there. Have a full blown coaching search.

I will say this.... If Gilmer wants to get over the post Traylor hump they need to hire outside.

I really wish people stop trying to compare coaches to traylor. People act like it’s just coaches out there that are in traylors ballpark, I honestly think turner kept the program going sure it was some drop off not just in coaches but the athletes as well. I think with what we have coming back and what’s coming up I wouldn’t want these kids learning a whole new system and coaches but it’s kinda strange that it’s mostly outsiders that think they know what we need

Grant Delpit at 17 to Dallas would be a nice player falling, position of need pick. Kid had a down year in 2019 more because of injury than talent. Kid can walk down down and play as a 4th linebacker in the box, rush off the edge or hang back in coverage. Dallas hasn’t had a safety like that in years. Kristian Fulton is another Tiger that could be there at 17. Dallas could be in the market for a corner or a two and Fulton could probably walk in and take Awuzie’s starting spot. A good man coverage corner with some off field issues that could cause some concerns. With some rumblings that McCarthy may switch Dallas from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense could mean some huge moves coming to the d-line and linebacker crew. Dallas would really have to invest in getting the guys up front to be able to make that swap possible.

Not a chance of this happening he was just at Gilmer and went to pewitt.

Tom Landy is right. Lane is clear choice here. Pine Tree was once an easy win on everyone’s schedule and Coach Lane has really change the culture at PT. No one in that district looks forward to playing the pirates now. They have brought back smash mouth football. If the Buckeyes want to return to the glory days- then Lane better be their guy. If not, be ready for more high expectations but poor outcomes.

Most students I would dare say have no biblical knowledge or moral upbring. Parents would rather sleep in instead of going to church and seeing their children get some kind of moral teachings, so left to their own devices they go the way of the world.

Tyler Emmett Scott and Marshall Pemberton were the 4A schools yes. Only lasted two years with the 4A schools however.

Sophomore that will play SS. Senior that pitched last year. Have a couple of freshman and a junior that wasn’t on varsity last season.

I agree the letters should be declassified to show the treasonous behavior or our prior President. They only pandered to the terrorist. The only way to keep those savages in check is through economic sanctions and limited military strikes with no boots on the ground. We can handle them just fine from the air above. Not a single U.S. soldier or civilians life will be lost, but they will suffer the consequences should they retaliate. If they listen to the man who wields the big stick and comply he will respond with compassion. Iran will not, they are too hot headed, and there machismo will lead them to even more suffering.

This is exactly what I think we need. I'm not sure if the board will spend the money to bring a big name, proven head coach, though. My inclination is to say they won't, which is sad. We need somebody who will hold the coaches and the players accountable for lack of preparation and performance, and instill the discipline we have sorely missed the last 3 or so years. I'm not sure if we have somebody on the staff now that has that ability or not. If they hire within, which I kinda hope they don't, it'll likely be Alan Metzel.

I don't think either team has the right to consider themselves superior right now. But common man... A&M beat one team this year with a winning record. That team was Oklahoma State in a bowl game that had them playing without their QB. A&M was favored and still didn't cover the measly 4 point spread. Not counting the bowl games, the teams A&M beat had a combined record of 22-50. Likewise the teams Texas beat this year had a combined 52-49 record with 4 of those teams playing in a bowl game. I understand though... Georgia didn't want to be there last year and Utah actually #### along with all teams in the PAC.
