I am a Hallsville lifer living in Hallsville my whole life aside from the four years I spent in Austin going to UT. My kids went to school there as well. I still live in Hallsville. Hallsville is not a football school. Has not been since the '60's at best aside from the occasional upstart team, the last serious one was the '99 team that lost in the fourth round in the Astrodome. Granted there are the occasional athletes that come around but not enough of them at one time to make a serious impact on the team. Plunk's record at Hallsville reflects what Hallsville's ceiling is historically with the intermittent playoff appearance and/or run. Drennon underachieved IMO due to...well, lets just say, "Not fitting in". Hallsville is a baseball, softball, and volleyball school. Hallsville should just embrace that and continue to excel with it. There is nothing wrong with having a "different" core competency. As long as Hallsville is bordered by Longview and Marshall that is where the football talent will migrate to. Besides, Hallsville is becoming more and more of a "commuter school" as families continue to move in just to work in Longview. The Board that outed Plunk had unrealistic expectations of the "athletes" walking the halls. Drennon had just come off of a championship at Mineola where one or two athletes can make a difference in that classification. The availability of Drennon at that time was just the Kool-Aid that some could not resist and just saw "Championship" as the headline and did not read the entire text.3 points

I will say it's more Tisd than Lee. They need to stop interfering and let the AD do his job. Also I believe they have unrealistic goals for Lee. They should have left things alone. Redrawing lines like the way they did. The new transfer rules is stupid. It's hurt Lee more than helped Lee.2 points

They are being processed. The days of a healthy upperclassmen that cannot contribute continuing to fill up a scholarship are over it seems.2 points

The really dumb thing about this is the amount of money that San Antonio could have made from having a Chick-Fil-A.2 points

Refugees automatically qualify for Medicare and the government practically throw money at them for business loans they don't have to even start paying back for 10 years, if ever ... that's why you see more and more convenience stores and hotels owned and operated by towel heads ....2 points

Brennan is not only a communist, he is also a Muslim sympathizer ... like Obummer, he has close ties to the Muslim brotherhood ... that's why Obummer appointed him to be head of the CIA .... https://wsau.com/blogs/ben-armstrong-blog/20344/the-real-john-brennan/1 point

Pretty much spot on. Coach Plunk is the winningest coach in the history of Hallsville with a 40% win record (averaged out to a 4-6 record every year). I've seen them several times over the past few years and like you said they sporadically have an athlete here and there but not enough. Plunk did the best he could with what he had. Also, way too many internal issues to overcome. When everyone is not on board & working behind the scenes to sabotage the head coach, it won't happen. From what I know about Drennon is he's a good ole boy that isn't going to go kiss the butts of the big shots, which is why he probably didn't "fit in"1 point

Lee is about to be on candidate #5-6. They have tried to pluck coaches away from their current programs with no luck. That tells me a lot about the situation at Lee. Coaches from lower classifications turning it down for one reason or another. Hhhhmmm1 point

There's SO much that goes into it on the top levels... I've even had a certain coach who use to coach at LV and now coaches successfully at ETX small tell me personally. So many factors on and off the field, could write a novel. But you hit a big point. Doesn't too much matter who your starters are, if you don't have depth on the top levels.....you won't get too far. Of course, not always...but all of this is usually the case.1 point

Ever had any dealings with addicts or alcoholics? They never think they are the problem. It's always someone else's fault. Coach Plunk was not the problem. Coach Drennon was not the problem. A LOT of issues and obstacles in Hallsville1 point

He had GREAT talent in Mineola for 3-4 years and got out when that talent left. Hallsville saw a title and thought it would work out. Hallsville doesnāt have the kind of talent to win it all at this point. Drennon didnāt have much success as a head coach before the Mineola stop. I think he was at Mildred and Liberty-Eylau.1 point

Guess We will see if This was A good hire think it was a hire just because he had a state title under his name. Didnāt go so well for Hallsville of thinking of same thing Iām afraid same thing going happen in Gs but hope not. After talking to some of the people of mineola about when he was there he just had talent to carry them they said he didnāt do much coaching. Still think some of the higher coordinators that applied might been better higher but we will see soon when he gets in office see what he brings with him!1 point

Probably going to cost them more now, since the #1 choice backed out.... Their 2,3,4 choice can play hardball now!1 point

No hire coming Friday. Meeting has been cancelled. Stepp says no hire until 23rd board meeting. Sounds like Lee is struggling to make a hire right now1 point

That is correct....BUT, Matthew 7:13 - 14 Matthew 7:13-14 English Standard Version (ESV) 13 āEnter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.0 points

Several things going on here...first, Brennen said something not right, then actually apologized for it, not something Trump has EVER done, he is not a 'member of the Communist Party' but had one vote over 40 years ago in a presidential ballot as a protest vote, then went onto a long and distinguished career of public service, being cleared for the highest level of security our country has, and this in a week where Trump's SIXTEEN THOUSAND lies were documented. Just sadly demented...-1 points
