There’s an interesting conversation happening on twitter about this. Thought I’d bring it here. Let’s say UIL cancels football this fall. What would that mean? would alternate leagues form? Would we see club/elite football explode like we’ve seen with select baseball, AAU basketball, and select soccer? These are all real concerns for coaches of those sports. Could football fall into that trap? There would be safety and medical concerns for non UIL football. Would those leagues and select teams protect players like the UIL? What about the loss of coaching and athletic training expertise? It’s in place for UIL schools. Would it for alternatives? End of the day...... kids are going to play football this fall. One way or another. in the sandlot, on a travel/select team, or in a pop up league. Wouldnt it just be better if UIL proceeds normally and let each district decide if they participate or not based on their communities’s health? thoughts???

Funny thing is the last time I saw the old Professor of Possumology was at the Yamboree with his trailer that had a cage full of them. I still remember possum meat sold in cans, and other souvenirs being sold in that General Store in Rhonesboro. Some think I'm crazy that I mention that it was also a small museum to North America's only marsupial.

I know he can be, but I don't like his logic on this just yet. The thing about that 70 year old man is, he's lived through so many of these pandemics that he's tired of it too. Think about all the one's not only he has lived through, but I've lived through many as well. My brother turned 70 this year, and he doesn't wear a mask unless it's required, but he doesn't like it. I think the main reason is my sister in law is fretting over the Wuhan, and he does it for her peace of mind.

Non school football - the cost would be too much for most parents(helmets, shoulder pads, cleats, uniform, etc......plus footing the bill to pay for a field)......most schools would not allow a select team on their field.

We started looking stupid to the world when we elected a reality show mobster. We will start to restore our lost standing when we vote him out in November.

I think they want to control all three legs of the Government. They will do anything to accomplish that. Including RIOTS. They are actually doing a very good job of it. After they win election they will declare victory over everything and tell their people in the streets to go home. Now is not the time for petty violence. It will be at least 4 years before any of them realize they got nothing and have been marginalized to the sidelines and they know the conservatives of the United State are not going to riot. Why tear down what took years to build up. Plus - We have to work Monday I'm voting Trump 2020 but he is being played right now from every angle. I can't decide if it is Third world country politics or just Highschool B.S. going on - Either way we are looking Stupid to the world

Wanted to congratulate Kilgore's Donavan Adkins for his performance this past weekend. Dude is going to be really good if he can stay healthy.

Hands down Kilgore's greatest coach and coaching staff was when Mike Vallery was running the show. Vallery and his staff absolutely turned Kilgore sports around and definitely put Kilgore on the map in the competitive and winning aspects in HS sports.

I didn't click the link with the Yahoo News source that only gave a partial story. I need more information to discern what actually happened. I read the first part of the Yahoo News article. It seems like the reporter didn't even know the WWWHW. I want all the facts, don't report something with speculation or partial facts. I answered that with my comment above. There are many questions in regards to the shooting. No witness accounts, and mere speculation.

I found out Monday that my cousin is the Judge that signed it. It has Gilmer at odds with one another. Yes, Todd Tefteller is my cousin on my Momma's side of the family. I can't believe that he cancelled the fireworks display. He should have had better judgement with that.
