  1. I just wish this game could kick off in a true Alto season opening atmosphere. But, here we are....Very thankful these boys and all the others across the state are able to play. They only get so many of these. With that said, I expect this young group of Jackets will settle in early and play with the same heart and pride we see year in and year out while finding a way to handle business.

  2. The Alto Yellowjackets (11-2A D1) will host the Troup Tigers (9-3A D2) in the first game of this Covid season. The Jackets are a young group, returning 10 lettermen with 2 offensive and 2 defensive starters. Alto graduated 17 seniors and finished the 2019 season 11-1, while the JV Jackets finished with a 10-0 record. The Mean Sting is picked by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football to win District 11-2A followed by Grapeland, Groveton, and Centerville. Coach Meeks is beginning his third season in Alto. The Troup Tigers return 12 lettermen with 3 offensive and 6 defensive starters. The Tigers finished the 2019 campaign 7-5 overall and 5-2 in district. Texas Football has the Tigers predicted to finish 4th in District 9-3A D2 behind West Rusk, Harmony, and Winona. Interestingly, the Jackets and the Tigers first played in the inaugural year of Alto Football in 1927 (!) with Troup taking the win 48-0. The Tigers lead the series 14-15-2 (or 4?) with the Jackets having won the last 4 out of 6 meetings since 2000. The last time the two met was in 2015 when Alto won 30-7. Who goes 1-0?

  8. GILMER 1-0 in controlled scrimmage vs Terrell. 7-0 in one quarter of action. There were supposed to be two quarters, so not sure what changed. Tennison starting at QB for Gilmer. Has improved his passing, gotten a little bigger, and he just gives the offense a running threat they haven’t had for the last few years. Defense swarmed to the ball, but the secondary looked suspect. just glad to have a high school football game!! Praying all kids stay safe and season can continue!

  12. The #butthurt dims manufactured the collusion bs to start the phony Russian hoax ... nothing was done that was illegal, it's perfectly common and acceptable for an incoming administration to talk with foreign representatives, it was never made out to be a big deal until the dims lost the 2016 election. to top it all off, collusion isn't a crime ... except in the minds of the wackturd #butthurt dims ....

  16. Bclove05 - I saw a little bit of Sabine’s scrimmage. I think our young D is 1 TD better than I previously thought. 35-24 Panthers! Let’s hope the rain blows through mid week.

  17. Harleton learned how to win in 2019. Even though they lost some key players to graduation they are still going to be a fundamentally sound football team. This will be a good test for White Oak even with the difference in classification. I’m going with Harleton in a low scoring game, something like 20-14.

  19. Does that include Antifa, the Black Panthers, Al-Queda, ISIS? I just want to make sure that there could be officers that support or are members of those hate groups also. So if the question had stated police officers to antifa anarchist--you'd be okay with that also. I mean we want the students to critically think and learn for themselves.

  20. He claimed that he received racist phone calls over his support for public housing during his 1970 campaign for New Castle County Council. “The first time the phone rang and someone said, ‘You n----- lover, you want them living next to you?’ I was shocked. I said, ‘If you’re the alternative, I guess the answer is yes.’” This statement is considered a "FACT" OMG--he claimed, no one ever heard it or can verify it, so how does it become a "FACT". SMFH. In speeches throughout the 1980s, he repeatedly claimed to have “marched in the civil rights movement,” and cited “Bull Connor and his dogs” as what “galvanized” his political awakening. There is no evidence of Biden joining civil rights marches during this era, though he did take part in a picket outside downtown Wilmington’s segregated Rialto movie theater in the 1960s. Another great FACT--Dang Barry--I thought you were a teacher and relied on facts--this is freaking funny that you would use a politico article without all facts as a "FACT" article. You should either read what you post, or be ashamed of these wonderful facts. And supposedly there are 55, but I am done after 27. LMAO at your "FACT" article.

  26. I’ve done what He commanded me to do. I’ve proclaimed Him to be the Son of God publicly. I’ve buried myself in a watery grave and rose again in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I battle every day to do what He says do. I fail every day too. Thank God for the blood of Christ. I tremble before the Father. I tremble before Him because He can take my life and send my soul to hell. I do not trust anything in this world. He says this world belongs to the father of lives in 1 John, until our Lord and Savior. Our Lord tells us what He will be looking for on the day of Judgement. He is very specific about it in Matthew 25 where he shall separate the sheep from the goats. He does not mention if one believes His creation is flat or a sphere. I believe we are special. Special enough for the Most High to put on human flesh and be crucified by those He made just so you and I have a chance at spending eternity in His presence. I don’t believe we are dwelling on a tiny rock that’s hurling through space at 60,000 miles per hour and another 2,000 mph circling the sun. You believe in the 6 day creation. If the sun was our anchor then why was it day 4 He created it? That’s like framing a house before the foundation was poured. I believe this notion was introduced by the father of lies to make humans feel insignificant. Have a great weekend West.

  27. The Tigers are a force. I think the two teams last night were pretty balanced on the talent side but the 3 turnovers on the first 3 possessions hurt. That Qb for DF tho! If you can’t tell I was very impressed with him.

  28. ET Football: Panthers display offensive firepower against Tigers By Jack Stallard [email protected] Aug 21, 2020 Updated 6 hrs ago The Spring Hill Panthers displayed a physical running game and a potentially lethal passing game on offense to go along with a few surprises on the defensive side of the ball Thursday during a scrimmage on the road against Mount Vernon. It took a little while, but rookie head coach Weston Griffis was actually able to enjoy the show put on by his team at Don Meredith Stadium. “I’m not going to lie. I found myself watching the offensive line and trying to coach them early on,” said Griffis, who has an extensive background as an offensive line coach an was the team’s offensive coordinator last year before taking over as head coach for the 2020 campaign. “I told one of my coaches I didn’t even know what to do with my hands. It was a different feeling, especially when we got to the live quarter. But, I enjoyed it. I remember at one point looking around and thinking ‘Wow. I have a great coaching staff, and they are coaching their tails off.’ They sure make my job easy.” Spring Hill and Mount Vernon ran a total of 56 plays with the first and second teams, and then competed in a live quarter. All of Spring Hill’s scoring came in the controlled portion of the scrimmage, but the Panthers did have the ball on the Tiger 1-yard line when time expired in the live quarter that ended in a 0-0 tie. “I was impressed with how physical our kids were,” Griffis said. “It’s how we’ve been practicing, and it carried over to the scrimmage. I was also impressed with our returning guys. The leaders did what they were supposed to do, but I was also impressed with a lot of our young guys stepping up.” The offensive scored four times in the controlled portion of the scrimmage, and Eric Morrow has a hand in all of the touchdowns. Morrow hauled in touchdown passes of 70 yards from Brennan Ferguson and 80 yards from Jax Stovall to go along with a 70-yard TD run. Griffis also mentioned fullback Brody Barnhill and tailbacks Devaunte Powers and Michael Marrs as standouts on offense working behind a veteran offensive line. Stovall threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Grayson Crews — a junior who caught Griffis’ eye on the defensive slde. “Grayson Crews has grown a lot over the last year, and he played well,” Griffis said. “Dominique Alexander at cornerback also had a good showing. He’s a physical new guy at that position.” The Panthers now turn their attention to Friday’s season opener at home against the Sabine Cardinals. Spring Hill finished 6-6 a year ago, earning the program’s first playoff berth in 12 years and knocking off Caddo Mills (23-12) for the team’s first postseason victory in 15 seasons. The season ended with a 54-14 bi-district loss to Waco Connally. Sabine carved out a 10-2 record a year ago, the first 10-win season in program history, and defeated Mount Vernon (20-14) for the Cardinals’ first playoff win in school history. Sabine fell to Pottsboro, 47-35, in the bi-district round.

I forgot though...your people don't like facts. As your Supreme Commander Old Uncle Creepy said, "We choose truth over facts."

  32. Ok..... Trump changed me from thinking he was nothing but a shameless self-promoter; He still does that, but there is also the side of him that has totally convinced me that he cares more about this country than the Entire Democrat Clown Show. You guys criticize everything he has done even before he was sworn into the Office of President of These United States of America! Can you, Barry even to begin to understand how freaking Impossible it would be for You do Your Job, if you had to endure the Incessant barrage of others hurl at you Every. Waking. Minute. Of Every. Freaking . Day? & No matter What he does, people not unlike yourself Bit@h about it! It is nothing short of a miracle that he has done more for this country than any other President in My Lifetime, all the while having the Democrat Party spending Million$ upon Million$ Of Taxpayers hard earned dollars in a Partisan Witch Hunt which ended in his Acquittal. You people Hate America & everything she Stands for. It literally makes me sick to see the things people are doing today. You, & They should be ashamed of yourselves ....
