Ok so Garrison played Crockett tough, SA got roughed up by Winnsboro, WH got blown out again, and Timpson, Joaquin and Shelbyville all got blowout wins. I think it’s safe to say that Timpson is for real, in case anyone was doubting them. I just emailed Greg Tepper at DCTF and told him they need to move Timpson to at least #4 in their next poll.

They had to replace 4 OL. 1 retired and 2 got booted for breaking team rules. Still though, a little surprising. The backup QB isn't very good. I think next week and a little later when SEC and BIG 10 starts you'll see some surprising opening week scores. Not necessarily losses, but some games closer than would be expected.

Carthage, Jasper and Center will probably all be ranked in the top 10 when they start District. Should be fun.

I believe Centerville has a move in at QB and they are actually letting him throw the ball a lil. Grapeland played without a few starters last night. I have watched Westwood and buffalo. So Centerville must have something.

Ol’ TRUEBLUE’s thoughts: we looked sloppy on offense for a large part of the game. We put the ball on the ground and had about 4 false start flags. Hopefully we got all of that out of our system. I thought our line did a good job of negating their size advantage after a rough start. OC still needs some time to adjust to the slot-t. It took a full season and two offseasons for us to fully make the change. They didn’t really get an off-season this year, so they are definitely behind the curve. That said, our defense was lights out. I think they picked up two first downs on our first defense that weren’t from penalties. Hopefully we will finally get to play a home game next week lol.

He “Agreed” to the sentence?! Since when do we give a ’s azz if they Agree to the sentence? Lock him up, weld the door shut with him inside & feed him a couple times a month, & let Justice be Done....

Went to this game. PG led 13-0 at the half. Hawks got the ball to start 3rd and went 3 and out. Silsbee scored to make it 13-7 with about 8 minutes left in 3rd. Next PG possession Silsbee forced the Hawks into a 3rd and 19 but PG caught Silsbee napping in the secondary and hit a 84 yard TD pass. Ensuing kickoff Silsbee fumbled, PG recovered around the 25. 4 plays later PG scores making it 26-7. Went from Silsbee with the momentum and down just a score to a 3 TD deficit in about 3 minutes of game clock. Kind of snowballed from there. Silsbee defense played tough but was just on the field much too long. Last couple of PG TD's showed that fact. Was listening in the stands to the radio broadcast (Silsbee broadcast). Pretty good broadcast. I do wonder why Coach Gipson had his first team offense on the field up 39-7 with 5 minutes left in the game? Not worth risking an injury to a key player in that situation. Starting QB actually got banged up on a play with 2:30 left. Had to limp off the field. Going to try and make a couple more PG games this season.

I'm a programmer. Here's how I see it: If I'm moving code around or tidying it up, that's what we generally refer to as code maintenance or refactoring. Sometimes we re-name methods or variables, sure, but in most cases that is for readability and maintenance purposes. If I get a new requirement, I simply add that functionality into the current code base, or remove it (if the requirement is "we no longer need this functionality"). If the code is functioning horribly, or if the entire thing is badly written, then we may scrap it and re-write. And yes, occasionally we re-write portions of code, but again, I think that falls under general maintenance and refactoring.

Good win bears. Wish Carlisle would’ve been full strength but either way Timpson looks very legit this year.

So a little crazy this week. Alto gets cancelled on. Not sure if it get the W via forfeit, but as of now is still 0-3 in my eyes. CV wins over Westwood 36-10 seems like a decent win. Westwood seems a tad better then years past. Grapeland gets thumped by Kirbyville 61-18. Have no idea about Kirby this year but they have been down a few years for sure. Normangee wins handily over Lovelady 50-12. I believe lovelady is down a little this year but good win for Normangee regardless. Groveton drops one to Shelbyville 54-27 Not sure how this one is Shelbyville seems to be up and down some. Sure doesn’t help Groveton afte the loss last week. Haven’t seen Leon vs. B-E score. - Cancelled not sure on anything other then that So it looks like Normangee is now the only undefeated team so far in the district. I still feel this will be a competitive and wide open district. A lot of tradition in most all of these schools and always tough teams to play year in and year out. May be interesting how this one shakes out.

If this team ran wing t, i formation, veer, or any type of power run offense, they could win with good def, good oline and game manager at qb. but this team runs style of offense, which is heavily dependent on QB play and the def ain't shutdown. Have to have above avg qb play to win with JTs current system.

Agreed I would of liked a few more passes but I can’t complain thought had a few dumb play calls on 4th down plays but all in all I was pleased.

Most programs, if not all (if they are being 100% honest) have a few positive cases. Cmon everyone knows it’s ex-Alto coaches now in Frankston still butt-hurt from getting fired are the ones who made the “anonymous” call. And instead of basing decisions off of facts from upper Alto administration, Winona goes with un-named caller. I’m NOT from Alto but I am a fan. Let the boys play or cancel your season & give them time to reschedule so you don’t do this to another group of boys who just want to play some ball.

That is a great question. Why would a team drive all the way from Winona to Alto and refuse to get off the bus and play a game? If they had no intention of playing, why make the trip? Our school has followed all protocols and is clear to play. This is on Winona. And what about my statement is false? Canton has had a positive case and played football. Timpson had a coach in quarantine last week and played ball. I’m sure there are multiple schools who have similar situations. I agree with txdun. If a team is going to NOT PLAY because of one or two cases (etc etc), they might as well cancel their season right now. And say what you will about Winona being scared to play or not being scared, the fact of the matter is they did not play. Or return a phone call/text for that matter.

The game is being Produced and broadcast by BBP Media and hosted on the Texarkana Gameday page. It is not produced by Texarkana Gameday. BBP is run by the Video Production teacher at Paul Pewitt and uses the help Pewitt students. I agree that Texarkana Gameday does a GREAT job, but want to make sure credit is given for the Paul Pewitt production where it is due.

Regardless of the schedule they’ve played, if ANYONE had predicted Huntington and Queen City to both start 3-0 they would have been laughed off of SDC. Tru storie.
