Impressive Wins: Gladewater, Columbus, Llano, Mineola Bad Loss: Rockdale, Wall Gladewater doubles up Tatum, both of which are highly ranked. Columbus continues to impressive with a thorough win over 4A Smithville. Llano with a shutout win over what appears to be a sold Ballinger team. Mineola with a quality win over what was a top 10 team in DCTF rankings. Not sure what is going on with Rockdale. Last week's loss to Bellville was not concerning to me, but this one to McGregor is very alarming. I'm giving the Tigers one more shot as they have a tremendous amount of talent on their roster. Wall has traditionally played Midland Christian very tough and beat them last year. Time to drop them out of the top 10 for now.

So the most basic question to know where everyone stands is, where do you draw the line on what the government can tell you to do? Mask mandates are not "Law", as in they have not been sent before the legislature to be voted on by our representatives, so then it becomes a matter of what power is given to the executive branch in a "Pandemic". I think there is some legal gray area there. Beyond that, you are talking about events that are sanctioned by other entities. Could the UIL or another state's sanctioning body require you to wear a mask if we weren't in a pandemic? What's to stop them from requiring you to do other things in the name of safety? The virus is real and there are serious illnesses, but where do we draw the line? Are we checking shot records at the gate to ensure we don't have a measles outbreak? I have a hard time with so many people being so complacent about being told what they can and cannot do without it being routed through the proper channels. We basically fought for independence because we didn't like someone making rules for us without our say in it.
