  2. And I can promise you, some coaches needed to have their contracts non-renewed. But what coach would not get his contract non-renewed if he was doing everything the "RIGHT" way? Well I know 1 for sure--still has the paperwork to prove everything he did was following state and UIL rules, but still got non-renewed because of one lousy parent who convinced a school board that he knew more about athletics than a seasoned veteran teacher and coach--and the was a freaking auto mechanic for the border patrol. But at the same time, I know lots of coaches, that need to do more work for the pay they receive. Again, if we are getting rid of people who are NOT doing their job correctly--then I DO NOT have a problem with this. Especially since I am helping pay those individuals.

  4. This Covid has put a lot of hurt on certain games but Waskom will be fine with the tickets that are allocated. This game will determined 1 and 2 within the district. As of right now if everyone wins out in the first round Waskom and EF will play DF or PP right now DF is the leader in their district and will play the loser of EF/Waskom with PP playing the winner. In order for EF/Waskom to play each other again they would have to play in the regional finals. If that happens there will be plenty of room to set on both sides.

  5. Joe has the best secondary that I have ever seen them have and I firmly believe the Timpson passing game will be shut down early, forcing them to feed Courtney and Bussey every play, who will ultimately break a few big ones, but will eventually get tired from taking a beating on both sides of the ball. Courtney will be forced to make tackles every play on Defense because of Joe's offense, and will be fed the ball almost every play because of Joe's secondary. In my opinion, it's overall just a bad matchup for Timpson style wise.

  7. I hope both teams do take care of business this week. It will make for a much better game next week. Lindale has always been competitive even in 5A but yes it has been a while since they competed for a district title. Just off the top of my head the last one I remember was 2011. I could be wrong but that’s the last I remember.

  9. Hooks would have to win by 9. They would be + 9 -1 for a total of 8 Df would be +17-9 for a total of 8 and Hooks would have the head to head over Daingerfield

  11. So for anyone who was at every Joe game like I was. This numbers games mean nothing. So many times they got off the gas so they would not embarrass the kids on the other team to the point they wouldn’t come out the next year. It’s called class Joe could have scored ez 500- 550 points on offense this year. So for you who believe in these numbers. I’m sure the bears did the same with a little less class. So I believe This will be a great game this week but don’t bet your chips on these numbers. Every team Groveton, San Augustine, Garrison, where all in the top ten but fail to the slot-T. The difference at Joe is going to hit the RB ,QB hard on every Run and the corners will shut down the pass game . We will see how long the bears can withstand hit after hard hit. The RB from San Augustine took 3 good hits and did nothing after that he was scared, laying down on his team. The QB from Garrison did the same thing. So the bears need to put some extra pads on for this one. Joaquin is going to bring the pain. It will be close at half but the rest of the game Joaquin will pound it hard and come out on top by 14. Timpson can not defend the slot-T kinda like Alto. For the kids playing both ways for Timpson the hits come on both sides of the ball. There will be no pass to defend only the run where they will not avoid contact. This is a problem for a RB or QB who plays both ways double the hard contact. Hope everyone stays healthy for the playoffs. On both teams.

  18. By The Editorial Board The editorial board is a group of Smoaky.com posters whose views are informed by expertise, research, debate and certain longstanding values. It is separate from the left wing views of NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC & the Hack Network CNN. It is our views that the GOP will be around a long time with their current control of Governorships, Senate and the Presidency of the United States. With ever increasing control of communism of the DIMWIT party a landslide of enormous and epic proportions will prove to the DIMWITS that their party of Klan Members & Slave Owners will soon be a party of the past. This bodes well for making America Great Again and Keeping America Great.

  24. Turns out I was partially right, but incorrect about the "runner up". It's laid out in the 12th Amendment. https://usconstitution.net/xconst_Am12.html It states, in part: There ya go. So basically, if neither candidate gets to the 270 (or the electors aren't able to cast their votes by the given date, which I think is December 14 this year), and it goes to the House, the House can then vote. Each "delegation" gets 1 vote. You'd need 33 states for a quorum., and based on the wording, it would appear that 26 states would have to vote for a candidate for that candidate to be President. If they can't decide by March 4, then the Vice President becomes the President. Then a quorum (minimum 67) of Senators would basically do the same thing for vice President. And you could, in theory, Have a President from one party, and a VP from another party. President and vice President used to be elected separately. You didn't have a "running mate".

  25. Trump is following the same model. Untangling the USA from globalist-driven misadventures that are not in our national interest. And rightly so, I might add. Trump is liberal with regards to the gay/trans issue whereas Buchanan was a conservative. That's really about the only difference between the two.

  30. This funny because with a Republican victory the Democratic Party is going to fall apart. Pelosi is going to retire. Bernie will retire. Shumer may not sure of that one yet. There is going to be a civil war but it will be in the democratic party because their leadership will dissolve. 2021 is going to be an interesting year after Trump wins

  33. In 1996 I was working in Stavanger Norway and I found out the Tigers were playing Windthorst for the 1A State Championship the next day. I hopped a plane to London, to Houston, picked up my oldest son at Sam Houston, in Huntsville, and made to Bedford Tx in time for the kickoff. I did something similar in '98 when I was working in Dammam Saudi Arabia, but I worked things out to make all the playoff games.

  36. Your defense of one candidate being ok with murder and the other an opponent of murder is "Trump hasn't changed it yet"? Seriously??? If you are serious, which I doubt, I would argue that it takes more than the man in office to change law/ presedence. But the man in office appointing judges who are on the Godly side of abortion, and voting for congress and senate that are like minded could one day end the absolute undeniable acts of murder by allowed by our country.

Retired in '03 and have been trying to makeup for lost time ever since. Make them all now even though I live 3-1/2 hours away.

  39. In 2024, we’ll all be wealthier if Trump wins the election. We’d expect more soldiers to be home than we have had in many years. The Middle East would have more peace than it’s seen in many years and we’d still not be at war with North Korea. Maybe we’d have some sensible folks running California, Michigan, Minnesota and New York by then too.

  43. We know, we know, if Joe had been captain she would still be cruising the waves today, he would have sniffed or groped the iceberg out of the way. Sailing the seas with no cost to the passenger, with solar/ electric motors and even criminals and folks with no ticket would be allowed. If you have so much fun on board at others expense that you find yourself pregnant, then Captain Joe can help you with that inconvenience also.
