@BarryLaverty@RETIREDFAN1 Who do political ads actually work for anyway? I would think that presidential ads are almost worthless since candidate policies are blasted everywhere. The true independent voter has their list of priorities and will vote on who they think cover those priorities... This is just my opinion but I believe these ads are targeting the basement dwelling 18-21 yr olds who don't care anything about politics and will do nothing to educate themselves on it... While you might be able to get these fat lazy globs of fat goo to Tweet your messages and scream it on their World of Warcraft chat channels, you aren't going to get them off of their lazy fat butts and go wait in line 2-3 hours to vote. Same for college kids, they want to vote on election day to be a part of the story, then after 2 hours in line, they bail... they have a frat party to be at. Am I wrong in this thinking?2 points
-
So taking in this method of thinking, we should dissolve the government as well?2 points

You are kidding me with this right? The entire argument from the left is that we can't lose a liberal judge to a conservative judge. I agree with your statement, but the stance of the Democratic party on this nomination has everything to do with Party Loyalty and nothing to do with Constitutional Law.2 points

EF won't be too bad next year. A lot of things can change before next season, but EF won't have a big drop off next season either. I don't think it will be a blowout next year between these 2 teams if EF keeps their defensive coach.2 points

I know first hand what it's like to TRY to get rid of career civil service dead weight people doing more harm than good. I had about 4 or 5 out of over 150 civil service employees working in Logistics out at Barksdale AFB in the 90s that really needed to be fired, it was next to impossible to do anything about them. Short of them putting their, or someone else's life in danger, they were practically untouchable. About all you can do in most cases is try and reassign them, but that just shifts the problem to another area .... Mr Pardee, one of my logistics analysts, said to me once, pointing at an ICBM static display on the base, "You see that right there? That's the symbol of the civil service worker. It sits there and does nothing and you can't fire it" .....1 point

Any accountability is better than none. If each different party fired everyone in the gov and started over, that would be better than the current system1 point

I typically like folks whose hands look like that. Beat up, bruised, calloused hands are something I've always admired because it's reminded me of of Dad and my Grandad's. They were some of the toughest, hardest working people I've known. It's the jokers that look like hand models that I don't trust. (Probably Trump and Biden)1 point

People do things like that, I think, when they don't have much of an argument. Right?1 point

Better that than forever having a job with no loyalty. At least loyalty to current admin (dem or repub) means the are beholden somewhat to the people and voters.1 point

I don't know why you would see that as such. No one is better than anyone else, even with who we think is better for our Country. We can agree to disagree on that aspect. If I saw Biden as a President who would unite us as a people that love God, and America then I would have considered supporting him. Instead I saw the media misconstrue all that Donald Trump before he was President and while he has been President to defame him. President Trump has taken the high road and attempted to work with all races to Make America Great Again. He doesn't care what your color is, he wants all American citizens to be successful. I think that's what all of U.S. want for our fellow Americans. I can't say the same for Biden. He and the media don't think that people have it within themselves to be successful without Government assistance. Everyone has it in them, unless they're talked down to like that. In essence it's verbal abuse. You're not good enough to make it on your own without the Government is what I hear. I say that's wrong on many levels, but we'll never see it mentioned in a court of law the abuse that the Democrat Party has inflicted upon millions of Americans. The sad thing is the abuser usually believes it. We're Americans and should be proud to say it, but that's not the case today.1 point

If you read the entire article, you would know that "Trump's new order closely follows issuance of rules telling agencies to provide only the minimal accommodations required by law to assist under performing employees before disciplining them and to make the maximum use of their discretion in choosing discipline either for poor performance or misconduct." To me that sounds like it is a way to get rid of employees that take there government job for granted, and we the American taxpayer are supporting, even when they do a terrible job--like the postal service, and the IRS. We need more people actually working in national parks, and the military, as soldiers, not all those "paper pushers". That is the one thing that Bill Clinton did that actually allowed the US to have a budget surplus for a couple of years--he did not re-hire jobs when people retired and cut the federal government payroll by over 100,000 jobs. And you, Barry, know as well as I do--it's hard to get rid of those people who don't do their jobs to their best abilities, especially in government work. As teachers, we see this year in and year out--some keeps their job when they do the least amount of work.1 point
