  1. I think in order for PP to win this game they have to move the ball on the ground and burn clock and keep EF offense to a limited number of opportunities. I think EF wins by 14

  2. With all due respect to Huffman, there's really not anything on their resume that will give Kilgore heartburn. Yes they may have 10 wins, but a lot of those were tight games against some extremely mediocre competition. Huffman's offense appears to be on the struggle bus this season and it won't get any better against Kilgore's defense and the way they're playing. Huffman's defense hasn't given up many points, but Kilgore's offense will be the best one they've faced.

  3. I don’t buy into polls and votes, got to play the game regardless of what it looks like on paper. I’m expecting another great game between these two teams. We played with an energy last week I haven’t seen in a long time and hope we don’t come out flat this week. I’m picking Pewitt by 3.

  4. Show of hands from anyone in 5A that’s shocked to see Lindale’s success in 4A. *no one* In spite of being one of the smallest 5A schools in the state they always commanded respect from Ennis, John Tyler, Lufkin, Marshall, Whitehouse....whomever. They were never an easy out. As a former rival of theirs......Im thrilled to see them so well. Planning on making it to the game this Friday. Congrats Lindale. This Maverick is pulling for you.

  5. I was on the Friday night football app trying to tell the Newton fans, y'all better respect PP, they been earned that, but hey nobody was surprised by PP beating Newton, everybody I talked to in EF thought the same thing

  6. And the 2018 game, PP used some pass plays to make a 2 minute drive to score late in the 4th to beat EF. The game was in the 20’s. We have changed d coordinators since then and taken on a completely different identity on defense. Those 2 games definitely count and we were 0-2 against PP the last 2 years. But if you are basing your predictions and thinking that is the EF team you will see Friday night, you will be surprised. We just lost last year to PP because they were the better team and they earned their victory. Consolation prize for EF after playing PP last year, we changed Nature Boys mind about the physicality of EF.

  7. Temperature is not supposed to be below 65 during the game. Winds supposed to be mild except during storms. Those conditions won’t keep Little Belichick from airing it out, especially if Salado loads the box. Give me starters vs starters 42 - 7 and Carthage’s 2s vs Salado’s 1s 7 -14. Final 49 -21.

  8. We got enough stops last year to be in the game late into the 4th qtr. I know that was last year and this is 2 different teams. Is PP’s run game this year as good as their run game last year? I think EF’s defense is better this year than it was last year. EF is a physical team this year on both sides of the ball. I think they can match up with PP’s physicality.

  9. They played the run against waskom the first time this year better than anyone else thus far. I know Waskom and PP have different running games so PP may have more success.

  12. I’d love to say Huffman was going to win, but realistically the best they can hope for is to keep it decent. Unless HH plays over their heads, this one could get ugly. They’re a good solid team that makes few mistakes, but they’re not in Kilgore’s league. Still, I’ll be pulling for the Falcons, but see them as a 3 TD underdogs.

  13. IMHO no class 4A1 or 4A2 div high school can complete with Carthage this year. You would have to go up in class to 5A1 or 5A2 schools to play with Carthage this year. Carthage could easy complete at 5A2 level this year.

  14. I think the hardest part of that would be creating a time machine to travel back to 2001. Also they wouldn't have been born yet, so there is that as well.

  15. Burris has been out all year. Jackson has been out since week 9. Martin and Phillips have been there all year with both missing 1 game I think. PG and Gilmer rematch coming soon.

  17. Don’t forget the PG game was 7-7 at the half. Carthage did pull away but in any football game a few turnovers could make a BIG difference. Also, several years back the Graham Steers gave them all they wanted. 13-12 in 09

  18. Region 4 has already shape up to be a all district regional final no matter who wins or loses in that region, all 4 teams are still in it

  19. I pretty sure it was. Made great points also about the “irregularities” we have been discussing. no incumbent president in nearly a century and a half has gained votes in a re-election campaign and still lost. not 1? Hard to believe this was a legit election.

  20. 2 weeks to prepare for this team... I honestly think you see the most complete game Longview has had all season. Meredith/MH will both go for 100+ on the ground...one of em could go for 200+...our best passing game this year was around 160 yards...I think we go for at least that this week. Give me 52-10 Lobos. JJ Henry gets a TD for McKinney North.

  21. Since district started, Elysian Fields is averaging 44.3 points per game vs defenses that give up 24.4 per game. This is 20.0 more points than the average defense they face gives up. They are holding teams that score 29.9 per game to 22.8 or 7 points fewer on average. Overall swing is +27.0. Pewitt is putting up 33.3 per game vs defenses allowing 25.1 or 8.2 points more than the defense they face gives up. On the defensive side, teams that score 33.0 on average are being held to 22.4 vs Pewitt, or 10.6 less. Overall swing for Pewitt is +18.8. Pewitt gets a slight edge on defense while Elysian Fields has the significant advantage on offense. Pewitt had a surprising win over Newton last week though, and I would have had Newton winning that game pretty big, so who knows?! The score predictor comes up with Elysian Fields in a 38-29 win in this one though.

  22. Not at all. People may forget Lindale actually won a 5A district championship in 2009 when they were up the first time. They are currently the largest 4A team in the state from what I remember about the cutoff last Feb. I think they were under by 5 (?) something like that. Here in Jacksonville, we are certainly hoping to drop to 4A as we have been at the low end of 5A for several years. Not a cure as many 4A D1 programs are tough— like Lindale. But Lindale shows what happens when you drop. Palestine dropped to 4A in 2004 AP (after Peterson). They went to the semifinals in 2004. Just saying....

  24. Any time we play EF Im nervous , very good program, we’re gonna accept the underdog role and give it hell, we have a hell of a receiver but the will never dream of throwing him the ball so all y’all have to do is stop the run just like every year but damn we’re running the ball good .

  25. You gotta give the Devil his due, this Carthage team is special no doubt, and probably the best defense ive seen then have in the Surratt era, I dont see anyone in 4A playing with them this year!

  26. I’m not basing anything on the last two years, I still remember all the times EF knocked us out of the playoffs , any time we play y’all it’s a knock down drag out!

  27. In my opinion our offense is much more physical this year especially last three games, new coaches in a crazy year has been tough but they are starting to gel. We still have a balanced run attack but maybe stronger this year when it comes to the ground and pound. Our offensive line is almost all Seniors returning and special teams is also very good this year all the way around.Always a good game between these two teams, it’s EF’s offense that worries me as usual, If EF was to get a couple key stops though we may be in trouble but I guess that could go both ways.

  29. You can't stop people from traditions. I know that Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two biggest family holidays or at least they were with my family. I know the New York police departments have told Gov. Cuomo to go suck rocks with his 10 people limit. When police have tried to enforce those policies it has hurt the police force image of working with the community. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/some-new-york-sheriffs-say-they-ll-refuse-enforce-gov-n1248051 . I think this year was the first year that we haven't had a neighborhood night out when local law enforcement would join in to speak with the neighborhood, and build their image that they aren't the bad guy. I expect Barry to come on here and say we need to follow this guidance as he parrots The View on attacking families coming together. Are you really taking a risk if everyone is healthy ? It's possible, because one individual could be in the early stages or they might be asymptomatic. You can't keep families from seeing each other. You truly never know when the last time that you will see a family member. It might be dangerous, but I think it's worth the risk to be with family. Especially if people are being tested for the Wuhan. Life goes on.

  30. The way I see it there is no reason for being "woke" in the work place, and this CEO was right. You're there to perform a job to the best of your ability. Just do your job, make your money, and go home. They can be as woke as they want to be there. I realize that people are going to have personality conflicts with others at work. The best way to prevent it from escalating is just ignore them, and do your job.

  36. Traion led the Yoemen to 3 straight state championships and was on his way to a fourth, when he had a devastating knee injury right before halftime of the state championship game against Brock. After that injury Traion leg was never the same. Traion was an outstanding young man. RIP Traion. Prayers for him and his family. Prayers for the other young man that drowned and for his family. RIP

  37. This year PG squad is a run oriented unit. The team is very good with this run game they don't make many mistakes (4 yards and cloud of dust). They eat up game clock with the run game which keep ball out of the offense hands. PG scores on 50% to 60% of their possessions. PG three losses this year have come against state ranked 4AII schools (Argyle 52-41 - Carthage 35-7 - Gilmer 31-28). Two of PG Div 1 commit's were not playing in these games. PG defense is best against the run, PG may be little weaker against the passing attack of Caddo Mills. For CM to win the the game they will have to play mistake free and hit on 70 to 75% of their passes attempted. Let take a look at common opponent Community (Nevada) CM beat Community 29 -11 ---- PG beat Community 42 - 0 CM will get 8 possession and score on 3 -- PG will get 8 possessions and will score on 6 Final score PG 42 CM 21

  39. Nor did Timpson have their new offensive set up. First time they played I bet Timpson didn’t throw 5 times. Now looking back I don’t think it was the rain, I think it may have been a shoulder.

  41. Doubt P G punts more than twice. I think P G will have to have at least 3 turnovers for C M to have a chance to win.

  42. I think if region 3/4 is to win state, it will be Elysian Fields. Canadian/Gunter run defenses are top notch. I honestly don’t see PP or Franklin winning as they are too one dimensional. Look at PP vs Gunter at state. Gunter ran all over PP. we held Gunter to a little over 100 yards rushing. That is not a knock on Franklin or PP, I just think it is a bad matchup.

  44. Ahhh. the Plano game! We lost 17-12 I think but the game came down to 2 calls that went against us. I sill say that David Henderson intercepted the ball in the end zone. Their guy reached in and grabbed it and the officials ruled dual possession, giving Plano a touchdown. But the worst call (actually a no call) was right before halftime when Plano threw a touchdown pass. Their left tackle literally tackled Eugene Williams, our defensive end, by the face mask as he was nearing the QB. It was in open space, no other players near them, so it wasn't like it couldn't be seen. The official was looking right at it, but didn't throw the flag. I know there is video somewhere of that play. Both plays were shown over and over on TV by Dallas and Tyler stations. Of course, Plano went on win the state championship. Another one that should have been ours!
