  1. It was a good game with quite of few close calls that could have went either direction. BunzT you are right....if Pewitt would have gotten the 4th n 1 we would be talking about the dropped TD pass by EF and the missed extra points...the EF penalties that kept Pewitt drives alive. The ball just didn’t bounce the Bulls way. I wouldn’t be a ref for anything. Great season Pewitt. Great comeback and Good luck EF.

  3. Whats this all about? “EF’s Ryan Wilkerson has completed 165 of 228 passes for 2,466 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions to go along with 1,132 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns“

  4. On the field? Absolutely he belongs in the same conversation. The results speak for themselves. The quick turnaround at Bowling Green, the success at Utah, the nattys at Florida at Ohio State, the man is a winner. Shady? Yup. However, if you want to win, there are few better out there right now...

  5. What a game. WOW. Hate it for the Brahmas... What a season with a new staff, Covid, and big wins. EF vs Waskom... ROUND 2... DING DING

  6. Bottom Line.....................PP could not convert 1 yard to end game ,could not hold a 2/3 score lead and could not cover # 5 & 3. Going forward DF and PP are going to have to develop a new style of play to compete with EF and Waskom the next few years . One is going to need better coaching.

  7. I keep hearing the talking heads say that Ohio State should get into the playoff even if they miss the Big10 championship game because they fail to meet the league’s 6 game eligibility requirement. Am I the only one who thinks this is a clear case of the media advocating for one of their darling programs? How should a 5-0 Buckeyes team get in over a 9-1 A&M? How is 5 wins better than 9? Especially when those 9 wins are against an arguably tougher schedule? If OSU gets to play, and beat Michigan and Michigan State, their best win will be over a Indiana team that might be ranked in the top 15. Meanwhile, A&M will have wins over at least 4 teams with a winning record, including SEC East champion Florida, who’s only other loss will be to Alabama. Assuming BAMA beats Florida and Clemson wins their rematch with Notre Dame, I don’t see any argument for a 5-1 OSU getting in over a 9-1 Aggie squad. If anyone wants to make such an argument, I’d love to hear it.

  8. How quickly we go from, No fraud, to fraud always happens but not enough to matter, to finally “it wouldn’t have changed the election”. You don’t have to prove fraud to the extent of overturning the election to get another. Just enough fraud to make the election questionable. Which we have long surpassed. We need another election nationwide. All in person voting. With IDs

  9. So true. All these kids have missed a big part of the high school experience. Obviously some schools more than others. It is tough thinking how this has devastated some special times and not just on an athletic level. I hope this all will some day be a distant.....but dark.....memory.

  11. Yeah, I can co-sign this. It may be the foolishness of a 40-year-old man speaking here, but I have a hard time imagining myself in retirement. I want to do what I do until I'm dead. I bet Meyer watches games now and it just kills him to see coaches making boneheaded decisions. Sure, TV commentating is a SWEET gig with very little pressure, but also very little reward. Meyer probably has more money right now than he could ever spend. But dude is a coach. One of the best in the modern era, and (as we've mentioned) worthy of being considered among the greatest ever. If you've got that kind of fire inside you, it's hard to just sit on the sidelines.

  12. I never understand why people make the argument, 'Why would he leave his job in the booth to return to coaching'. Think about what you're asking....Why would a COACH leave a NON coaching job to return to COACH. Maybe it's because that's what he loves to do. Maybe it's because regardless of anything else, THAT remains his #1 passion. How many coaches start their first job making millions of dollars? Heck, how many coaches go on to make millions of dollars? Most coaches start out making very little, and understand that to be the case, but do it anyway because it's what they love to do.

  13. Yeah I hear ya. As much as I hope I'm wrong...I doubt we will have a 200 yard passing game this year. But I'm not overly stressing about it this year. It only becomes a huge problem when you get behind the sticks with dumb penalties but ideally, its not the end of the world. With discipline + a solid running game + a solid defense...with 100+ passing yards a game...in our system...its very possible to go deep. Cy Fair and Dekaney come to mind but you have to have all 4 in order to see high success. We had 3 of the 4 against HP....lacked the discipline which is why we ultimately loss. Take away those penalties + the Haynes fumble...we beat HP with a sophomore QB. Now in a year or two....if the passing attack remains as it is now...then I panic but right now they are what they are. Game managers....not really game changers...which is what they were always gonna be this year. Have to give em time to develop because the long term potential is there to have a good passing attack no doubt.

  14. We China Springians are excited to be playing in December! This team is a year early with many under classmen growing up in a hurry. They look like a totally different team since district and I know they will compete Friday. It's an enormous task taking on Carthage, but that's why they play the game! Brock losing to Jim Ned and Pleasant Grove losing to Caddo Mills... Strange things can and do happen in the playoffs!

  15. Spot on! Love him or hate him, what you see is what you get with the orange fella. Hussein and Creepy on the other hand smell of car salesman and tv preacher. Portray one image while the truth is much different. I can tolerate a truth telling A-hole idiot (Trump) much better than a liar ( Hussein and Creepy).

  16. People have really been hard on Gilmer these last 10 years. Realize the standard was set high, but this team has consistently competed well into November for the whole decade. Many other programs would kill to be where they are.

  18. I think that's the one people are most confused about, because it was a first down and that's why the clock was stopped
    1 point
  19. They stopped clock for first down not cause he got out of bounds and Ford was talking to white hat and he didn’t start clock when was suppose to. It was some of his best coaching lol whether he meant to do it or not it was great strategy to get us lined up and a play called .
    1 point
  20. We all agreed he was in bounds and clock should have kept rolling, I also believe the QB arm was not coming forward on that hit that should've ended the game, I'm not gonna lie about EF on anything, I'm not that big of a homer.

  21. I’m disappointed that my neighbor knows so little about me. I’ve never been a lsu fan. I’ve been a BAMA fan since birth. And also, I never said I was more qualified than Urban. I said my chances of winning a natty at UT were higher than the likelihood of him taking the job. But carry on friend.

  22. What's STHU? South Texas Hills University? I've never heard of it.

  23. If making under qualified coaches into millionaires through the stupidity of the administration and the unrealistic expectations of the fan base and alumni makes it a premier place position, then I agree. Hey since you’re so well connected, do you think my 5 years as Admissions Counselor at the Nick Saban Coach Rehabilitation Clinic, combined with 6 years as a moderator on SDC would give me a shot at the job once Herman is canned? I’ll only need about $20 million over 6 years with a $5 million buyout. That’s a bargain by today’s standards, and the chances of winning a National championship with me are every bit as high as Urban Meyer taking the job.

  24. Man....he made a Punt Return this past week that was insane. https://youtu.be/4GfdTVEUxZM?t=10438 And yeah, he has history on both sides of the ball. Played RB and FS at Judson. Played both this year as a freshman, even some WR. Great talent and good size.

  28. I’m concerned with what might happen if the opt out rule doesn’t go away when Covid does. We already had players opting out of bowl games. Now they’re skipping entire seasons. I agree with you, they’re just looking out for their future when there’s no good reason to keep playing for nothing.

  29. Pleasant Grove has carried the banner for Texarkana for the last 3 years. Got nothing but respect for their coaches & players. This was still a very good year and without the injuries it probably would have gone on another week or two. I don't believe they were near as good as they were the last 2 years..........but they were pretty dang good. Congrats on a great year

  31. I hate it. It makes him look like a quitter. However, I said this on Twitter and I will say it here... I will not trash these guys for opting out when you have an NFL future until you are allowed to make money off of the NCAA. The NCAA has exploited these athletes for at least a century... so much so, that when they finally sued to get money out of it, they ruined the greatest football video game franchise, making it impossible to produce.

  32. Lots of out of work coaches on this thread! They wouldn't be where they are today without the coach they have at the helm. You play how you have to play to win. If that means playing kids both ways, then thats what you do. There are some pretty good kids playing both ways at some bigger schools too. Pretty sure Denton Ryan has a couple that are D1 commits. Carthage has played kids on both sides of the ball. Injuries happen in football. It's a violent game. The human body is funny. There are many reasons that injuries happen. How many of the top athletes in the world miss time due to injury. From football players to track stars to golfers, injuries happen and not just to the overworked or out of shape. Speculating about kids injuries is kinda irresponsible.

  33. Urban can turn Texas around and he will be gone in 5 years. He isn’t a complacent guy. He gets the job done then leaves.

  36. I'm thinking the last time these two teams played Mart won with a late 48 yard field goal. Pretty sure the Tigers were an underdog then too.

  38. Well seeing the look on Keeling face when EF won Friday night told me all I needed to know lol he did not want to play us again it was written all over his face. I going to say EF wins 41 - 27

  39. Waskom is down starting QB and the starting RB is limited he missed the DF game but played some in the WR game but not much. Then they lost #12 a safety/CB which will Hurt a already suspect secondary. I not sure what makes them think it will be a different game other than blindly hoping for a different result. EF is completely healthy except for #17 who has a knee injury but he has been out prob half the year already other than that we are 100% coming into this game.
