I find it odd the way the media is characterizing these morons as violent rioters...while BLM protests were called "mostly peaceful" no matter how many businesses were looted and burned. Regardless, Biden will take the oath on Jan 20 and most of us will go right on with our lives. This too shall pass.

Well, to get one thing out of the way right off the bat..... Classification really doesnt matter much in basketball. 3A-6A, everyone has the same 13-15 players. Yates usually will whoop anyone in the state in hoops...but isnt exactly the biggest school. So....getting to Longview... Girls hoops hasnt been good since Aldridge left a decade ago. He was 908-180 in his 32 years at LHS with state hardware. He was not only a good coach, but very active in the community and truly did groom the Longview ladies from youth. You can't build a house without foundation. So, Longview girls simply lack the culture and coaching. We get to the boys....who have actually been on an upward trend in that last decade compared to the 2000s when they were bad...Longview is pretty young this year. Many Freshmen on the roster...all of which have promising futures in both football and basketball. Several guys like DK Reese, Jay Darensbourg and Chris Wilder are all already at least 6'2 and will be a problem on the football field long term as well. Now, they just got back varsity football guys like Jalen Hale and Kybo Jackson-Jamerson...and you immediately saw the difference when they played Marshall yesterday. Hale was especially important because not only is he a major FBS recruit in football, hes also a FBS recruit in basketball as well. Reminder that he's only a sophomore. As that fresh-soph group age, Lobo basketball will get better. So will football...and heck baseball too.

And get ready to be increasingly told that you're somehow bad for being white (and possibly male and Christian), that you must undergo "critical race theory" training, and oh, watch the country move left. I'm not knocking Flood. I have seen the rebuilding of an Offensive line group happen at Oklahoma. After 2012, Oklahoma hired Bedenbaugh who now considered one of if not the best O-line coach in the country. Oklahoma's offensive line was in much better shape and it had not been bad for a whole decade like the Texas Offensive line has been. It took three seasons before you saw that impact on the recruiting trail, and it took hitting big on some 3 star guys. In the 2013-2015 signing classes, Oklahoma signed four 4 star guys and 12 3 star guys. Bedenbaugh turned several of those three star guys into NFL draft picks like Orlando Brown and Ben Powers. Since the from the 2017-2021 classes Oklahoma has signed one 5 star, 13 four stars, and 5 three star guys. It takes time to rebuild an O-line. It might take 4-5 years to get it fixed at Texas. They are going to have to consistently make some 3 stars guys NFL draft picks before the 4 and 5 star guys start coming in droves.

I guess the point needs to be clarified is yes, Alabama recruits itself, but the talent still needs to be coached to the Alabama system. The point that the OL performance has not dropped off is that Flood, despite being there only 2 years, probably indicates that he is at least equal to or better than the previous OL coaches at Alabama. This does not mean that magically the offense will be humming along just like Alabama, but the probability that it will be better than under Herman is certainly something to be expected and considered as a possibility.

All goes back to the same thing. They don't care. Ends justify the means even if they have to cheat.

Money isn't everything!! He has a system set up, coaches in place where he wants them. He has built a football factory and has total autonomy. Talking to some of his assistants that coach other sports, they are happy being assistants and winning. Carthage is a very nice community to raise a family, a good school district and cost of living is pretty low. All of us should aspire to be in that kind of situation.
