Of course they do!! I'm so shocked that "something else" is to blame!! LOLOLOL!!! Just fire the "something else" and let a little dribbler parent take over...I'm sure they would win state!! LOLOL!!!3 points

Iâm not getting in this too deep, but all those early season losses and close games with 5a teams for Carthage is a thing of the past (If people want to call a 22 point win against WH in 2017 a close game, then I donât know what to tell you). The program has taken another step since the earlier years (2007 - 2015). Carthage basically does not lose anymore. So bringing loses or close games from those years has nothing to do with where Carthageâs program is right now. Carthage is 73-3 since 2016. None of those losses are to 5a teams. Since then they are 7-0 against teams that were 5a when Carthage played them. Since Carthage didnât play any teams this year in that classification, you have to go back to 2019 where Carthage beat Marshall 38-6 and Jax 48-0. Marshall won their district that year. Granted we are talking ETX 5a DII which is not saying a whole lot. So hard to say how Carthage would do against other 5a DII teams around the state. I think both sides here are off base. Carthage would do just fine in 5a DII. Thatâs as far as they could go up without it being a problem. But anybody that thinks Carthage could not compete at a very high level in 5a DII is just not wanting to give Carthage any credit for whatever reason. And anybody saying Carthage goes undefeated and wins a state championship 3 out of 4 years in 5a DII is the same amount crazy, just on the other end of the spectrum. IMO Carthage couldâve competed THIS year in that 5a DII state title game I saw on FSSW. I donât know who would win, same as everybody else. Nobody knows for a fact. But the eye test tells me that Aledo was not head and shoulders better than Carthage.2 points

Their religion is statism, so I do not expect them to understand anything other then to bark when they hear the dog whistle and gnash their teeth when they hear the truth instead of the dog whistle.2 points

Have you heard one liberal on this site condemn censoring the voices of conservatives? I haven't. I have seen several support it though.2 points

No kidding. Talk about sheep. Why not just send them all of your money. Or if you own a small business pay a $20 min wage. You know since $15 is so good. Heck, make it $50. Anybody that wants to give the government 1 ounce more control is an IDIOT!2 points

That is very fair and objective of you. But you are the only one between the two of you capable of doing that, I'm sure you have already realized that though. lol2 points

Maud and Bowie are both improved but Clarksville is still really down compared to normal. They graduated a good group of seniors last year. They seem to have a lot of kids with limited time on varsity, and a lot of young kids. I didnât think they were poorly coached when I watched them play if thatâs what your implying. Also I would say Rivercrest and McLeod have the best teams theyâve had in a while. LK also has a good group of seniors and are playing well.2 points

A culture of apathy and entitlement. Not saying it is the coaching, but the make up of the kids and the admin.2 points

Found this first edition in a storage unit that I bought. And it was signed. In the back is a taped in news article featuring Larry McMurty--From the New York Times-1985. So I am pretty much a fan of the story and the author.2 points

It is a sad day when high school kids take a knee when so many men and women died so they could have the freedom to play a game. Nobody wants to see politics at a high school football. I am thankful to God above that kids of all color, race, and ethnicity work hard as a team to be the best they can be. High school football in Texas is the one place we come together to root for our TEAM. There is no I or me. It is us. God Bless OUR kids that work so hard and bring such joy to WE the fans.2 points

Not implying anything about the coach, leaning more toward it being the lack of experience they have. Either way, it's just odd seeing Clarksville lose this much.1 point

It's the way of life at small schools. Sooner or later you have dips in talent pools, even Clarksville at basketball had to have a dip in talent. Probably won't last long but it happens.1 point

You couldn't be more wrong. This was not one of the best teams Aledo has had, meanwhile this was one of if not the best team Carthage has had. Carthage would win this year by 14+. Firstly due to the dominating defense. Secondly, the offense with a wealth of playmakers all over the field and a QB who completed 70 percent of his passes and thats not dink and dunks like so many offenses run. Thats down the field shots all over the place.1 point

Watched the movie as a kid. Read the books as an adult. The movies and tv shows after the original arenât that great. Woodrow Call is the most polarizing character of the whole series. A man of his word and honor but unable to fully accept his own son.1 point

I've seen the "movie" at least a dozen times. Definitely in my top 5. I've got the book right here that I got from my dad when he passed. I really need to take the time to sit down and read it. I have read Comanche Moon but don't think I've read the other two in the series. I need to read more lol.1 point

I think Mattheew McConaughey said it best. âMy first gut is this â my gut instinct on âThe Eyes of Texasâ at present. And it has been since this issue came up. And this is a play on the word eyes of Texas but I thought about it. Look, in the form of rehabilitation, which is what weâre all trying to figure out here, right? If somebodyâs... if my eyes donât see, if Iâm having trouble seeing, you donât gouge my eyes. You get me glasses. ... Iâm saying well letâs not get rid of the eyes, letâs change the way the eyes see. The University of Texas hijacked that song from what its roots were. It has no present meaning or intention of what it did in its origin. Alright? So, while I understand and respect itâs disgraceful because of its origin, Iâm like, weâve rehabilitated that song. We hijacked it. We stole it. Itâs like the U2 song that talks about Charles Manson stole that Beatles tune, âHelter Skelter.â Hey, weâre stealing it back. We got it. Thatâs not what weâre standing for. This is what we mean by it. And it does mean a halo of excellence above us. To go, hey, letâs have something that we have an expectation for who we are as Longhorns here. Thatâs how I see it. I say donât change the eyes, just change the way the eyes see. Letâs embrace the change of what the song means and what weâve turned it into.1 point

Isnât this a self investigation? Itâs not being done by the ncaa, right?! If so, theyâll prolly do what LSU did and put a small penalty on themselves and appease the ncaa.1 point

@BarryLaverty , between you and @ANTI I need to make clear I referenced most Dem voters get themselves into financial hardship with poor decisions. Never did I say there arenât wealthy people who unwisely vote for the Dems. Answer us this, if there are not a treasure trove of in the least financially unstable voters who lean Dem then why do the Dems always pander to them? Itâs because that is their base, people looking for handouts and ignorant young voters who think voting for Democrats is what all the cool kids do. Dems got that moniker, because people know voting Democrat is the best way to show your rebellious spirit throwing off the responsibilities your parents and grand parents would burden you with as upstanding citizens. Democrat voters spit on our soldiers as they return from Vietnam, you know cool stuff like that.1 point

I donât get the Tennessee job hype. They have won 2 conference titles in the last 30 years. It is probably the 3rd best job in its own division and 7th best job in its own conference.1 point

The only offensive player for Aledo Iâd want is Earle. The rest I wouldnât trade you any of our Carthage boys for any of yours. Roberts over Courtney, no way. Your QB over Horton, no way. Your OL over our OL, no way. Your TE over our TE, no way. You could have one of our receivers for JoJo Earle, thatâs it. Ok, one receiver and a backup offensive lineman for Earle, best and final offer. Weâd beat yâall straight up though.1 point

Thatâs incorrect, there actually are some young people with some good old fashioned common sense and work ethic. Leaning right means leaning toward Christian values and selflessness rather than ignorance and selfishness. Leaning right means youâre willing to work and wonât just sit on your butt and play the victim. Thatâs what losers do and thatâs what lots of Dem voters do. The American men and women of the 40âs and 50âs are what we should aspire to. Those people were freaking beasts. Now days our teenagers and many adults are soft, lazy, victim card playing, excuse giving pansies. The biggest problem is people do not want to take responsibility for any failure or mistake they make no matter how small, itâs always someone elseâs fault. How about you grow some balls and take responsibility for your actions and decisions. Most Democrat voters are people who are looking to big brother to bail them out in some way or another usually because of the bad financial situation theyâve gotten themselves into with poor decision making. Most Republican voters are people whoâve worked hard and made good decisions and earned a life they can be proud, they do not have to look for a handout. Thatâs just the cold hard truth and we need more of it these days. God bless America.1 point

Who says the program wasn't disciplined under Rhoades? I will say this: I talked to Coach Brashear on more than one occasion. As AD, he told me once that they were having a hard time finding coaches and even teachers because people would rather take private sector jobs where they got paid more and didn't have to tolerate kids they couldn't discipline. So as far as the discipline goes, that might not be a "coach" problem, and might be a "parents complaining about their kids being disciplined" issue. Word is that Sprinkles gave Brashear three days to turn in his resignation. Despite the W-L record, Tommy is maroon-blooded through-and-through, an upstanding Christian person, and exemplified the tradition of school spirit while exhibiting genuine care for the kids in his programs. I get the impression Yoe fans are not happy with the way this was handled. That being said - Yes, there are many in Yoe Nation who seem to be very aware that the 2016 interviews for the position included a few more-qualified candidates, and the general consensus is that Brashear got the job because the school board and certain members of the "country club" crowd knew they could get him cheaper and keep him under their thumb when they were so inclined. Regarding Zeinart, rumor was when he was hired that he might be next in line for HC. However, like others here, I have noticed that Rick Rhoades seems to show back up in Cameron every chance he gets. But if he is truly retiring... He's not the only Rhoades who has occasionally expressed an interest in getting his family back to a smaller town... The question raised there is, coming off a state title as an assistant under another former Yoe coach, could he be persuaded, and how much would he cost?1 point

Coach Rhoades came back to Cameron for Traion Smithâs memorial and funeral. He was welcomed back with open arms at that time. I understand what Rhoades told you but letâs say there were other discussions about the retirement plans. I say sit back and stay tuned.1 point
