  1. But that acceptance, based on common ideology, proves that Republicans aren’t racist. Even Biden (and most Democrat politicians) thinks the black vote is monolithic. Explains why they’re so scared of a Black Conservative. Can’t have them folks getting off the plantation. Thus the racist slurs spouted by the Left at Scott, designed to keep the other blacks in line.

  3. This is exactly why the President should discourage illegal immigration. This is on Biden's hands. He created this atmosphere on the campaign trail. He has also put the lives of many unaccompanied children's life on the line with the treks they made, and the coyote smuggling that they have endured. The only way we should change our immigration laws is to allow them to apply to immigrate to America in their home countries and not on American soil. Once they have the approval to immigrate, then we should allow them to come to America.

  8. Well, Castles has impeccable integrity and many schools would love that record but there were some serious problems. Not much in the way of discipline, not much in the way of care for success in the entirety of the whole athletic department. Castles may be intelligent, but it is a narrowly defined intelligence. As for Robinson, the problems at Crowley had more to do with an egomaniacal head caoch. Also, there were lots of schools that they could not compete with in their district. He will be there a year and then be a Head Coach again.

  9. 22-40. What makes the powers that be in Henderson think that the new guy is all of a sudden going to come in and win 11 games? That’s certainly a fair observation

  11. Number of wins does not determine how good of a coach a person is or how good of an athletic director he/she is --- In either direction...............8 wins a year at Allen in football is not the same as 8 wins a year at Queen City Talent on the football field and other sports, talent walking the halls of the high school and not playing a single sport, how he/she treats the athletes, how he/she does things in the community, etc all have to be considered.............no matter the school

  12. I just have a hard time concurring with your statement that the program was falling apart. He has 1 bad year (in a year that was 2020) and everything is falling apart, kids are moving away, etc? Cmon man I’m not buying that for 1 second. As I mentioned earlier, Castles averaged 8 wins a year during his Henderson tenure. I’m beginning to think he may have been the victim of the new superintendent’s “personal” agenda; not the first time and certainly not the last time something like that will happen in small town Texas

With Justin Fields, Rashawn Slater, Micah Parsons on the board Dallas chose to trade down to 12 with Philadelphia, getting 3.84 in return. Philadelphia chose DeVonta Smith at 10. Giants traded 11 to Chicago for 1.20, ‘22 1st rounder. Dallas could have made that trade but had Parsons as the highest rated player on the board. Even over Surtain and Horn. In my opinion they should have taken Slater to protect Dak. Kelvin Joseph was the best available CB at 44. He’s a rapper in his free time. He was asked to leave LSU before winding up at Kentucky. If he puts as much effort into being a corner as he does his music Dallas could have another talented CB. Osa Odighizuwa is a DT that can play 3T and 1T if he bulks up. Kid has a wrestling background which shows his athleticism. Can rush the passer. Better against the run for a DT his size. Chauncey Gholston is a solid Iowa DE. Not an explosive athlete. He’s a kid that will be a rotation guy with the potential to become a starter. Nahshon Wright was a reach at 3.99. Tall, long kid who only played 2 years of D1 ball. I’m not a fan of this pick. Dallas had better options at this pick. Ifeatu Meilfonwu and Elijah Molden. His traits fit what Dan Quinn wants in a CB. If he develops he could be something. You just don’t do that in the 3rd round. Jabril Cox started off day 3 in a good way. Former NDSU/LSU LB is better against the pass then he is the run right now. Which is something you can’t say for Jaylon Smith. Should be a special teams guy with the potential to be a starter sooner rather than later. Josh Ball would be a good pick at OT if he wasn’t a trash person. 11 counts of domestic abuse against his former girlfriend forced him to leave FSU. Simi Fehoko is a 6-4 220 WR who runs a 4.43 40. That’s a big boy that can move. With Michael Gallup in a contract year, Fehoko can redshirt this year. Learn the scheme and take over for Gallup in ‘22. Quinton Bohanna is a kid that could make the team, could be cut. 6-4 327 1T run stopper. He’s big not athletic. Great for stopping the run. If he makes the team he’ll be a situational player. Israel Mukuama is another tall, long cornerback. That seemed to be the trend this draft. Not fast enough to line up outside in the NFL he’s a potential move to FS. Dan Quinn has success making the same move with Damintae Kazee. 7th round is when you take a guy like this. I like this move better than Wright at 3.99. Matt Farniok is a versatile OL. Can play anywhere on the line. With Joe Looney leaving, there’s room for a guy like this to make the team.

  15. Was reading an article the other day about the upcoming alignment how the glut of new schools will be changing the landscape for mostly metro 6A and 5A schools. While East Texas 5A/6A is in the Piney Woods..... the fact is.... the metro schools affect us. They affect the cutoff numbers for classifications.... and for some... having metro schools aligned into their district has become an annual reality. No reason to think 2022 will be any different. Here are the scenarios I have tried to think of...I'm sure I'll miss a few. 1. Any 6A Div II schools headed to 5A Div I? Tyler Legacy? 2. Any 5A Div I schools headed to 6A Div II? Lufkin? Longview? Tyler? HP? 3. Any 5A Div I schools headed to 5A Div II? No real candidates 4. Any 5A Div II schools headed to 5A Div I? Texas High? Nac? MP? Hallsville? Whitehouse? 5. Any 5A Div II schools headed to 4A Div I? Sulphur Springs? Jacksonville? 6. Any 4A Div I schools headed to 5A Div II? Lindale? Chapel Hill?

I think they should have taken Sermon, the RB from Oklahoma to help carry the RB load .... Elliott just doesn’t seem to have the same spark as before .... Jerrruh better hope they can protect his over paid QB .....

  18. Rams Field Turf Project Seeing Huge Strides Towards Completion Composed by Ronny Samford Joaquin Rams Football Stadium on April 30, 2021 – Joaquin High School’s Rams Stadium is undergoing an overhaul. Joaquin now becomes the first facility in the state of Texas to install the revolutionary T°Cool® evaporative cooling technology to their new synthetic turf field. During warm weather months (especially in Texas), synthetic turf surface temperatures can get dangerously hot, consistently exceeding 150°, making fields uncomfortable and often unplayable. T°Cool® treated infill is a proven solution that reduces surface temperatures by 30-50 degrees, keeping student-athletes cooler and safer. The Rams football team is surely looking forward to using the new surface. The team finished the 2020 season with an 8-2 record and they posted a 4-1 finish in District 10 2A-1. They were a Bi-District contender as the second place representative for their conference.

  23. I don't know why Dallas took a WR, he probably won't even make the team. I would have taken a long shot on someone that might have potential to make the team. If none become starters I give it an F. The only way it's an A is if 5 players become starters.

  24. First year under Dan Quinn and Dallas have the keys to the draft to him. If Parsons and Joseph play up to their potential this defense could take a step forward. The d-line got some interesting pieces added to it. Secondary definitely got bigger. This needs to be a Dirty Dozen type draft. I just have my doubts.

  25. Omg another trump hit price by Barry! I specifically love that it’s not called an opinion article but a “perspective”. Lmfao this writers perspective is trash. Trump was right on both accords. Mail in voting is absurd and if you aren’t a citizen you shouldn’t be counted on the census.

Isn't your opinion of black legislators based on the fact that many of them reinforce your opinions? What do you think of Maxine Waters? James Clyburne? Hank Johnson? Val Demmings? Ilhan Omar? Ayana Presley? Hakeem Jeffries? Corey Booker? Why don't you tell us what you think of Tim Scott?

  42. Yep. TEA counts every head. UIL creates a formula. Example, TEA site has Longview at almost 2300 in october. The UIL number for that would probably be in the mid 2100s.
    1 point
  43. Yep. That's another contributing factor. Probably why you also have an influx of districtwide PT to LV transfers. Before the pandemic started, LISD was averaging 200+ incoming transfers from PTISD. And even during the pandemic, 194 kids transferred from PTISD to LISD. Bottom line, other than growth, people are simply finding ways to get their kids in LISD schools. The weird part about all of this? PT has a slow decline in enrollment, but the talent appears to be on the rise in West Longview.

  44. Doesn’t seem like PT really invests in their schools. And it matters. Don’t believe it? Marshall had a slow drop in enrollment for 15 consecutive years. They replaced every elementary school and built a new JH... now the HS is in the middle of a nearly $50 million (and counting) renovation.... Enrollment has increased every single year since the schools opened in 2018. Small increases (40-60ish)... but that’s huge after a decade and a half of decreases. PT needs to open the wallet. But given how hard it was to replace a nearly condemned stadium... doesn’t seem likely.

  45. I haven't lived in Longview since damn near when I graduated HS but man....everytime I come back home... never fails to see something new built. Neighborhoods, businesses, roads...etc. Part of the reason that I think PT is slightly declining is because majority, almost all of the new houses/apartments/neighborhoods in Longview are going up in the Longview (mainly), Hallsville (East Longview) and Spring Hill zones. I'm a bit of a geography nerd even though I tell aircraft what to do all day but, PT is also landlocked. They can't grow to the south and west because of floodplain (Sabine River)....and they also can't grow to the North and East because of the SH and LV zones. Wildwood is PT's biggest neighborhood (and its nice as hell btw) but even a chunk of that goes to Longview. You're also correct too on Longview being a no brainer option for school. You always judge a school district based on the oppurtunities they provide...and LISD provides amazing oppurtunities.
    1 point
  46. Meanwhile PT is on a slow decline. I live in Longview. No kids. But if I did... it would be a no-brainer for me where I’d send them. While LiSD has plenty of its own issues.... the opportunity to succeed is plentiful for an LHS student. Just a matter of them choosing that path Vs the wrong one. Unfortunately the ones that make the bad choice are the ones the community notices. The excelling students don’t sell newspapers. It would be a punch in the gut to see my child graduate a Lobo . But at least I’d know they were prepared to succeed at the next level of education.
