  3. It's really only South Texas that has the issues.....the UIL has said opting up is an issue and they are looking at a few things, but they also said in the press conference there hasn't been a groundswell in 5A to make a change

  4. Well I can guarantee you there's not going to be any East Texas teams in 7A whenever they create it. But your other sentence is the exact reason why it hasn't already been created. The need has been there for a long time. Remember when it was just 5A and below, people were saying there was a need for this. It hasn't changed since then, especially when all they did was rename the classifications instead of addressing it.

  5. I agree Love thy neighbor. But I also strongly distrust they government. To believe those numbers you just quoted, you first have to trust the numbers put out by the government. I do not. They have been wrong and lied at every point during this whole fiasco. How someone would trust them and think they have your best interest at heart is beyond my comprehension. I hope it all works out well for all of us.

  10. That is a good question. History (the good, the bad, and the ugly) should be taught accurately. We should not gloss over the way minorities (particularly black Americans and Amerindians) have not received fair treatment over the course of our history...but in this case we also need to make sure that past wrongs do not create more racial problems today. That is going to be a hard tightrope to walk.

  12. Most cases of covid are relatively mild. Survival rate is in the 98-99% range. That does not sound all that bad until you start looking at the scale of it all. 1-2% death rate is an awful lot of dead folks when you are talking about scores of millions of people contracting a disease. Even if the mortality rate is "only" 1%...but you manage to reduce the number of infected folks by one million...then there will be 10,000 people still alive that would have died otherwise. That is why mitigation (including vaccines) is important. I dont want to get on Smoaky someday and find out that RF1 or Obi or Monte or Hagar is laying in a hospital on a ventilator. Love thy neighbor...................

  15. More contagious??? who’s more dangerous? rEnjoyLife is vaccinated! He contracts Covid-Delta and is asymptomatic. He walks through WalMart unknowingly spreading it to others. DB2.0 is unvaccinated. He contracts Covid-delta and has cold like symptoms that is being reported. He stays home and doesn’t get anybody sick. who caused the most damage? sonetimes you have to look at things a different way than what you’re being spoon fed to see if the info is worth getting the vaccine. My B cells, T cells and the cells in my marrow have memory of how to fight Covid. MRNA isn’t needed. I’ve had a dr tell me that. I had another tell me to get the shot. Talk about not knowing. That’s why you do what you think is best for you. If the shot won’t keep me from getting it altogether, I won’t take it.

  16. Most cases are mild, but those that have been hospitalized is what scares everyone else. Some of those cases may have been mild, but people will go to the ER for a sniffle today. I told the story of my friend last year that went in for back surgery, and they said he had contracted pneumonia. He didn't have a cough, fever, or even a sniffle. They were keeping him in the hospital to milk his insurance. He had to discharge himself, because they didn't want him to leave. Hospitals are notorious for that now. Yet we keep hearing that they're losing money.

  17. Who is telling you to be concerned about delta? Who is bribing, and paying folks, and decreasing prison sentences, and having million dollar lotteries to get people to take the vax? Did anyone get a million dollars to take the polio vaccine? The measles vaccine? Just curious why they are pushing this one so hard.

  21. God Will Save Me A terrible storm came into a town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately. A faithful Christian man heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to himself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.” The neighbors came by his house and said to him, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But the man declined. “I have faith that God will save me.” As the man stood on his porch watching the water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe paddled by and called to him, “Hurry and come into my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!” But the man again said, “No thanks, God will save me.” The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into his living room and the man had to retreat to the second floor. A police motorboat came by and saw him at the window. “We will come up and rescue you!” they shouted. But the man refused, waving them off saying, “Use your time to save someone else! I have faith that God will save me!” The flood waters rose higher and higher and the man had to climb up to his rooftop. A helicopter spotted him and dropped a rope ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder and pleaded with the man, "Grab my hand and I will pull you up!" But the man STILL refused, folding his arms tightly to his body. “No thank you! God will save me!” Shortly after, the house broke up and the floodwaters swept the man away and he drowned. When in Heaven, the man stood before God and asked, “I put all of my faith in You. Why didn’t You come and save me?” And God said, “Son, I sent you a warning. I sent you a car. I sent you a canoe. I sent you a motorboat. I sent you a helicopter. What more were you looking for?”

  23. Video says in Canada it takes 22 weeks on average to see a specialist after your primary doctor makes a referral. So as long as you are well, their healthcare is great. But if you have something seriously wrong, it will take 5+ months to get in to see someone who specializes in your problem. If that problem is cancer or heart related, it might be to late by the time you see that specialist. Sounds like a hell of a system! https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2016-08-03/canadians-increasingly-come-to-us-for-health-care The Fraser Institute, a Canadian public policy think tank, estimates that 52,513 Canadians received non-emergency medical treatment in the U.S. and other countries in 2014, a 25 percent jump from the roughly 41,838 who sought medical care abroad the previous year. In citing those numbers in its 2015 report, "Leaving Canada for Medical Care," the organization said difficulties in obtaining timely medical care at home is, increasingly, leading Canadians to seek it abroad. "It is possible [they] may have left the country to avoid some of the adverse medical consequences of waiting for care, such as worsening of their condition, poorer outcomes following treatment, disability, or death," the report says. "Some may leave simply to avoid delay and to make a quicker return to normal life."

  26. Yep, and I saw 2 more caught the Wuhan by not going by the CDC guidelines. The voting bill is why they left, but it would have been contested in court. So they are the only one's to blame over this mess. I'm fairly positive the measures to correct the Foster Care system would have been fixed, but noooooo they had to run like cowards.

  29. I could understand if they were losing before the semifinals, but they played North Shore the past 2 of 3 yrs at state. Northshore probably has just as many D-1 kids as Duncanville. Lost one by an unbelievable last second Hail Mary and another after their QB got hurt the week before and didn't play in the title game.

  31. 9-5A Div II: Week 1 Match-upsMarshall Vs. New Caney- I can admit this is somewhat of a homer pick. This is going to be tough for the Mavs. Opening the season with your longest road trip of the regular season is killer. No one hardly picked Marshall to win this game last year....and we saw what happened. I'm taking Marshall because NC is returning only three staters on offense. That's TOUGH. They will return their beast RB....who had a great night against us last season. But he won't have the great OL he had last season. NC will have a whole new WC corps too... so the pressure to spread the ball around, epecially in game one is a tall task. Marshall's strength this season will be defense....esp early on. If the Mav defense is stingy enough...... if the offense can just spark a little....this is winnable for Marshall. NC also only has 5 returning on defense. This could take some pressure off of a Mav offense that will be breaking in a new QB. Improved OL play will be a MUST for the offense to get things moving. Marshall steals a close one on the road to open the season (1-0). Tyler Vs. Texas High - Hard to pick against the Tigers....especially at home. They just don't lose there very often. Texarkana enters the season with the best offense in the district. They have the top QB without a doubt. This won't be the same Tiger team that struggled offensively Vs. the Lions last September. They found their identity once McHenry was nailed down as the starter. He passed for nearly 3000 yards last season.... eye-popping considering he was splitting duties early on. Toss in a 1200 yard RB in Braylon Stewart. If the WR corps cooperates.... the Tiger offense could be deadly in 2021. Defensively the Tigers have some holes to fill from last season, but not anything glaring or concerning. Tyler should be MUCH improved on offense in 2021.....but will it be enough to keep pace with Texarkana? That depends on the Lion's defense.... which could be much improved as well. I'm taking the Tigers because they are playing at home; they seem to be a few steps ahead of Tyler when it comes to their building process; and I think the Tigers have an advantage when it comes to in-game coaching decisions. Liberty Eylau Vs. Pine Tree- This is a tough one to call. Seeing how PT's offense redefines itself without DJ at the helm is at the forefront of everyone's minds right now (PT fans and non-PT fans). PT has rarely had trouble piecing together a pretty good offense for the last 10 years or so. The Pirates always seem to find guys that be efficient enough on offense to keep the ball moving and scoring points. The issue for PT has generally been a porous defense that would give up more. Lot's of 45-42 type losses for PT the last decade. Until last season. Defense became a strength for the squad in 2021. It's had to be disturbing that PT will have to replace basically their entire starting offense. OL, WR corps, QB..... I think they have 2 starters returning. The defense has 7 positions to replace. One could easily give LE the nod.... they are a playoff team from last season with 7 returning starters on each side of the ball. I'm giving PT the nod based on where I think PT is on a trajectory. But if they struggle in this game..... it could be a sign of a long season with DJ..... and that stellar defense. Nacogdoches Vs. Kilgore- This is another one that's tough to call. Both teams are going to be rebuilding their offenses in 2021. Kilgore is coming off of a region semifinals appearance last season while Nac broke through to return to the playoffs before getting man-handled by Huntsville in the first round. This game will likely come down to defense.... which means Kilgore should have the upper hand. That late season run by Kilgore was fueled by the Bulldog defense. Nac's defense relied on their offensive success last season more than stellar defensive play. Not to mention.... Kilgore is not an easy place to waltz into and steal a win. Nac's offensive question marks, defensive issues, and playing at R E St. John Stadium spells a long night for the Dragons IMHO. Forney Vs. Whitehouse- Whitehouse. Big. Forney was 0-9 last season. If the Wildcats can't win this game easily... even if they are having to practically rebuild their entire offense... it will be setting off some major panic alarms for Wildcat fans. WH has never been known for its defense....but a fair defense should shore up any offensive struggles in this game. Can't imagine this one even being competitive. Mount Pleasant Vs. Wylie East- MP is returning more back on offense than any other team in 9-5A. That spells good news for the Tigers because they could spend the offseason working on depth instead of replacing a ton of starters. Considering depth has been the Tigers biggest issue for YEARS... this is an excellent step in the right direction. They have a bevy returning on defense too....which again...allowed them to look at depth in the roster. If the coaching staff pulled it off this spring.... the Tigers could be a thorn in many sides this season. I'm not ready to call them contenders yet....but things could be looking up. Often times MP would be in close games at the half to see them slip away because of depth/exhaustion issues. If that has been shored up..... those close halftime scores could spell some close games at the end...and maybe an upset or two. Wylie East seems to be WAYYYY down from where they were just 4-5 years ago. Picked to finish dead last in their highly competitive 5A Div I district. I'm taking MP for the win. Henderson Vs. Hallsville- Both will be breaking in new coaches. But Henderson has been a consistent winner for several years. Hallsville has been in decline for a while.... and everyone wonders if they have hit rock bottom yet....or can they sink lower? Seems there has been little positive news come out of Bobcat land concerning football in a long time. Replacing your coach in June is a tough start. Numbers are down in football..... abysmally from what I've heard. Considering the football transfers I'm hearing that are headed East and West from Hallsville has got to be disheartening too. These appear to be two programs headed in opposite directions in almost every category. That being said....I'll take Henderson in a big win. I need some positivity out of Hallsville before I can pick them in a game. Prove me wrong Bobcats. Jacksonville Vs. Crandall- I honestly could see this game going either way. Crandall has most of their offense returning from last season. An offense that put up 38 points on the Indians last season...... the concerning part is that they also gave up 25 to the Indians who also return some of the key parts of their offense as well. Jacksonville returns more of their defense than does Crandall. This would be a concern if Jacksonville's defense had been more formable in 2021. Crandall also had the displeasure of playing the likes of Ennis and North Forney last season who were both 10-game winners last season. The Pirates were better than their record showed. Jacksonville had flashes of brilliance last season....but some ugliness too (the Hallsville game). Defense has got to improve...... until that happens... Crandall win at home.

They bring back the house and have gotten stronger and better as well. Heck we are not even a passing team and blew out yall in 7 on 7 in our first year to play. Gonna get real when the pads come on
