I was thinking the same about SA if we had both been in Tenaha’s division we would have multiple titles a piece. They couldn’t cut it in D1.

never went to too many scrimmages. but one i even talked my wife into going to was when palestine came over to scrimmage carthage. pederson made a few end runs but dont remember him on the field much. and his last high school game laying belly down pounding the ground as muckelroy made an effort to console him.

For carthage the d is as good as expected even without one of there starting lb not playing tonight the o needs some time for the oline to gel but qb ,receiver and rb looked like there should not be much drop off if any

Makes more sense, it seemed like Garrison was missing a couple returning pieces off that team from last season. Garrison will be fine and give Timpson hell. The backup QB looked every bit of a starter and those tall receivers will wreck 2A defenses. Your defense looked good up front but got burned simply because of the speed difference.

got a chance to check out 9th grade scrimmage. Only did a controlled scrimmage. I believe it was 3-2 Tyler. Looks like it was only 9th grade A-teams because both only had like 30-35 players. Marshall QB #5 is really quick and fast. Drummer for Tyler is really good. He will be a varsity next yr. Wouldn't shocked me if he moves up this yr. I don't think this group is as good as Wade group from a couple yrs ago, but they will be ok. Got some good kids to work with and a good group of kids on O-line. #75 hurt a couple kids from pancakes.

I don’t believe Tenaha has ever been in what is now considered 3A. Their school district is tiny compared to surrounding districts. I don’t remember a time when they didn’t have the lowest enrollment in Shelby County. Garrison has always been a consistent winner. Like anyone else, their success tends increase when they get a good coach and keep him for a while. I guess that goes for any program. Joaquin has had two coaches since 2002. We are 141-72 (.665) over that time span.

Tennehaw had their success in the peewee leagues. Garrison won their state championship in what is now 3A DII ,,,, that's two classifications higher than any title Tenneyhaw has won. If Garrison had been playing in the same classification as Tenneyhaw, they would have won 3 or 4 more state championships .... take your lame "real TTown" talk back down to the peewee leagues ....

You know beans about the coaching staffs in East Texas. Coach Therwanger is one of the best in AA. He’s turned them into a consistent winner.

My experience has been that those who are anger mongers about school issues, who threaten or menace educators or sneer at them, generally don't have one iota of passion toward actually helping those same schools in any constructive way. So, water off a duck's back. Until they get physical, then they should go to jail like anywhere else, and that doesn't always happen.

My view on vaccines for what it is worth, I've taken the flu shot and caught the flu anyhow, I have not taken the flu shot over the years and still caught the flu, on the other hand I have taken the flu shot and not caught the flu & did not take the flu shot and still didn't catch the flu. In the military I also was run through the shot line and didn't have a clue what shot they was giving me. I have taken both shots of the moderna vaccine and had no reaction to it, nothing. I have taken the pneumonia shot, both of them and got pneumonia anyhow and spent 3 days in the hospital before all the Covid stuff hit. It was so close to that time that I was tested a month later to see if I really had Covid and I did not. So does the pneumonia shot work, who knows my Doctor recommended it since I hit the 60 year mark. He also recommended I take the Moderna shot. I know people who have not taken the Covid Shot and they died, I know a lot more people who have not taken the shot and caught Covid and other than being fairly sick got over it and are doing just fine my daughter being one of them. I have to believe the shots work or I would not take them since I hate shots but as I said some of those shots I have taken didn't work. I'm at the stage of my life where taking the shot is a roll of the dice and I hope I don't come up with snake eyes. Ok enough said smokem if you have them.

I heard yesterday that many of the employees working for the companies that make the vaccines are not taking it ... including doctors .....

But since you want to bring up the past you know that is Crockett only win over franklin in football history... What about the 80+ we put up on yall the year before? Btw you do realize that yall had a team full of seniors and got bounced in the 2nd round that same season? I agree. They will be tested by arkansas but they are the favorite in every game but bama and possibly lsu on the road depending how lsu rebounds. This is why I think 10 wins is a letdown. You have to split lsu/bama and win the rest for this to be a year you can live with as an A&M fan. The time is now. Other teams in the division are down, bama is replacing basically its entire offense, and A&M returns 20 of its 22 defensive players and brings back the majority of its offense besides QB and a few non drafted Oline players. A&M will have some really good teams over the next few years but they may not have a schedule this good with this much uncertainty in the division. Like Stoney, its do or die for me as well. I'll sit here in early August and call Bama a must win game.

The only way I see that is if its a VERY tight game with bama and then A&M wins convincingly against the rest. They will also need either OU or Clemson to look mortal throughout the season and lose a game or two as well. Playoff hopes live and die October 9th IMO.

If you keep that attitude Pleasant Grove will beat you. We know Gilmer is great, but we also know what happened in the state championship game last year. PG will be young, so a lot of us don't know exactly what to expect. I think they could be a lot like 2016. They came together with a win over Gilmer and that could happen again this season.
