  3. It's not just him. It's Congress. Republican and Democrat controlled congress. They act like $3T is needed. What they need to do is dump programs that we are sinking money into with no return.... you know... like their salaries.

  4. as bad as 2019 was, JT still made the playoffs. I also wonder how different last yr could have been if Ford was the QB. Oh well....I hope this yr is the start of Tyler High getting back on track for the tuture. Holt is gone, but I think McFall will be ok at QB. He has made a few throws this yr, that I like. Also like the freshman qb.

  5. Any fracture you can go ahead and chalk up 4-6 weeks from the time of injury. Throw in a surgery you can go ahead and tack on another 4-6 weeks. Basically meaning he would be back for a Bowl game at 100%... Even if it was the quickest timetable possible, it would be pointless to have him return for 2 games and a bowl.

  7. Yes I do. Michael Sam was a borderline UDFA talent. Goodell was willing to press any team into drafting him to help sell a narrative. Goodell knows as much about football as Richard Simmons does about having Raquel Welch alone in the back seat of a ‘78 station wagon.

  8. How many refugees are enough? Just let them in until nobody can support them? Hell, just send money to their home country. It would be nice to accommodate everybody, but that is impossible, not to mention this is the way in for terrorist and criminals. Why don't we just take over the whole world and do away with all these pathetic governments. Does that sound familiar? We can't take care of the whole world.

  14. If those new hires leave after a short time for a better job all I can say is...good for them. Many employers have come to believe they are entitled to pay sub-par wages...and maybe your cousins employer does not want to pay more but he ultimately may not have a choice. When there is excess labor available employers have no problem using the labor glut to depress wages (supply and demand) but now the shoe is on the other foot (finally). Also, it is absurd that your cousin has not had a day off in a couple months. Unless he is an owner or manager it is not his responsibility to ensure his employer is adequately staffed.

  26. This one is interesting for me. When I run the numbers for all games played, I get De Kalb favored by a significant amount. However, I don't have any doubt that Pewitt played a far tougher pre-district schedule. When I run the numbers for only district games, Pewitt is the favorite - although the sample size is really small. Just to summarize - I get a 41-19 De Kalb win when I run the numbers for all games played for each team. When I run only district games - and there are few, I get Pewitt in a 46-39 win. In my experience, this means that the game will be a close one. Here are some breakdowns by wost and best games - by my own metric : De Kalb's best 3 vs Pewitt's best 3 : 54-21 De Kalb De Kalb's worst 3 vs Pewitt's worst 3 : 27-21 De Kalb De Kalb's worst 3 vs Pewitt's best 3 : 45-20 Pewitt De Kalb's best 3 vs Pewitt's worst 3 : 61-0 De Kalb So based on this, I get a final somewhere between a 45-20 Pewitt win and a 61-0 De Kalb win. Wide spread - which means, I have no idea! Based on all of this, I predict De Kalb as the winner, but these teams always beat each other up, so who knows? I just wanted to participate

  31. Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Leviticus 20 English Standard Version Punishment for Child Sacrifice 20 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Say to the people of Israel, Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3 I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name. 4 And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, 5 then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.

  32. He should try for a medical RS. you’re talking about Johnathan Gray from Aledo. Texas had a stacked backfield that rivaled anything Bama has had. JGray, Malcom Brown and Joe Bergeron. Texas had Case McCoy at QB then. Had they been better than average at QB then, Texas would’ve won multiple conference titles and been in the national title picture then. Yea, case best OU and aTm in the same season, but he was the reason they lost games they shouldn’t have too. That backfield was crazy good. Anybody that could’ve taken the top off a defense would’ve been a difference maker that couple of years give me a thumbs up if you love the Longhorns!!!

Also, you and I both will not be so glib when we stand before our mutual Father. Neither of us will be answering questions with a yup. You and I both will be trembling in fear. https://friends.carenetdane.org/2019/01/17/what-does-the-bible-say-about-abortion/

  37. Nope. Not with the defense this team has, not with the receivers this team has. I truly believe we are one position away from competing for state this season. It just so happens that one position is the most important in football at this current time.

  38. Brother....I completely understand what you are saying. I am a few weeks ahead of you on how I feel about all of this. Blessed we have a John King but frustrated in some of the things he does. I also fully acknowledge that he has probably forgotten more about football than I'll every know and deals with things I couldn't imagine, but I can be a fan who has an opinion, none the less. The part I highlighted above is who we are and will always be. It will take a generational player to elevate us (every so often) to being elite for that particular year. I honestly don't think we will see any better than this. I don't think it is apathy...for me, it is a realization of where we are located, the talent we have, and what we are in terms of the program and coaching. Again I do recognize we are really in an incredible place as a non urban program. So I am going to sit back, let him do his thing and keep my expectations accordingly. I grew up in the days of Bero...I'll take John King over him or any other.

  39. The calls for the offense to ply clean is just pointless at this point. They are who they are. They’re not changing. The defense is good, but they’re still gonna make bone headed plays. Is what it is. We can call and scream for them to clean up their act. But the fact is, we’re a turnover machine on offense and the team as a whole is on pace to be the most penalized team both in penalties and in yardage in the history of this program. King’s play calling isn’t changing. The time management isn’t changing. He’s been the same way since he first took over, and we’ve lost potential state championship game appearances in the past because of it. Definitely not changing with this year’s bunch. Would love nothing more than for our program to become a Highland Park in terms of discipline, but that’s a joke just thinking about it. QB play isn’t changing. We are who we are. Faster I and others realize that the better off we’ll be. I’m not gonna lie. We’ve had some teams in the past I was pretty much over with after game 3 or 4, 2016 being there most obvious. 2014 as well. But this one is just hitting me on another level. There is so much talent. So much. And yes we are young. But the young ones are the ones stepping up and saving our season. They’re the only reason we have a shot at the post season. I just am so beyond frustrated with how right there this season is. How on the cusp of being a state title contender this year we are, but we’re not one because of one position. It’s disheartening to know no matter what we do, we’re stuck with it. That and we’re going to get to go through the exact same thing again next year. All me a pessimist or whatever, but King is set in his ways and nothing is changing. I can hope and hope and hope but it’s for no good. And we saw that with the play calling last Friday. You can hold Highland Park, in two meetings, to 4 total touchdowns and 71 TOTAL rushing yards…yet still find a way to lose both games in almost identical fashion. It’s just beyond defeating and disheartening. I know people don’t agree with what I’m saying, or how I’m feeling, or the way I called out a player in the HP thread. But if I’m gonna celebrate and scream how good a player is going to be one week, they should also get that same feedback when they’re playing poorly in my eyes. You shouldn’t have it one way. We’ve become a program just under being actually elite/one of the bests these last two years, and I really feel it’s because of one position that refuses to be addressed. Now I know I don’t see the daily ins or outs. I’m not there and I have no reason to be. I see what I see, and also hear what I hear. But King has been leading this program for nearly 20 years now. The things that got on at Longview are as predictable as King’s play calling. It took us getting blown out just for him to start his own son. Is what it is. Will be there at most games the rest of the way, but that realization of where we are and where we’re going has definitely hit. And it’s nothing to Arlington unless something changes.
