  1. Lindale has a solid sophomore group coming up. Several are already starting or contributing on Friday nights. Eagles should be in good shape for next couple of years.

  3. He’s brash, arrogant & thinks highly of himself; Those traits/character flaws are the reason I didn’t vote for him the first time he ran; That said, he is one of the greatest Presidents in America’s History... What we see now with the Puppet Joe Biden, is a Sham, a Joke, an Insult to everything America stands for, along with the laughing #### who is Vice President.

  19. So let me see if I understand this. Biden donkey stomps the oil industry for a year. His incompetence causes another (one of many) crisis, then the incompetent buffoon ask the same oil companies he’s attempting to make extinct, for help. This - this is the epitome of “you can’t make this stuff up”. This pulls the curtain away from the major glaring problem in America today - how could 81 million people be so stupid?

  20. I've had COVID twice, probably three times. Wait let me correct that: I've "tested positive" for COVID twice. I couldn't tell the difference between "COVID" and the Flu. All three times I just kept taking vitamins, drinking extra water, and continued exercising. It never lasted more than a day. Never been vaxxed, and haven't had a flu shot in over 20 years. Just good clean living.

  22. Government controlled single payer Healthcare damn sure isn't the answer .... unless you are for rationing, inferior services, government making healthcare decisions instead of individuals, families and doctors ... as high as healthcare costs already are, the last thing we need is a government bureaucracy running it .... THAT'S WHAT THE DIMOCRATS WANT .... You say a republican run plan won't work? .... they have a lot better chance of making it work than the dims .... NOTHING ... the federal government has ever operated has been efficient or cost effective .....

  30. Where did you find that old film?! I remember that game being played over at Groesbeck. Tough game and smash mouth kind of football. Coach Gardner lead Centerville to a win over us that night…..a mere 4 years later he lead US to a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP (back to back actually)! Good times for sure.

  31. This is a hard row to hoe. I agree it’s frustrating that people do not attempt to pick themselves up. It’s even Biblical to not help someone that will not work. We cannot forget those “bums” have children. They weren’t asked to be born. IMO it’s not Christ like to turn our backs on them because of their parents. Is it frustrating? By all means!!! We cannot say we are pro life and then not give a when that child of God draws its first breath. This is kind of what my earlier post was alluding to. We could allocate His money He blesses us with to those He commands us to help. Take government out of the picture. It’s not the government’s place to tend to the needy. The Son of God makes it abundantly clear what He will judge us on in Matthew 25. I get the frustrations. I have the same frustrations too. I just don’t want to end up in the goat pen.

  32. What do you guys think about these? All these are not mine, but I did add one. Respect your opponent, and then knock his block off in between the whistles. Straight answers are the best answer. If you want a coach to move on from you, say “Yes, coach.”” Believe in collective responsibility. That means for successes, as well as failures. Leave everything on the field, and don’t leave anything in the tank. Don’t swear, don’t get 15-yard penalties. Have fun, and cherish the moment. The big time is where you’re at. Don’t get sucked into the belief that the “grass is greener” someplace else. Practice as hard as you intend to play Don’t disgrace the gifts that have been given to you by not making the most of them. Luck is that place where preparation and opportunity come together, and it’s what you do with it at that very moment. Attitude, commitment, respect and performance. Attitude is how you respond to adversity. Commitment is how you go about you business of preparing in strength and conditioning, during practice, academically and socially. Respect is how you treat others. Performance is what you do when it’s show time. The first three everyone can control. How will you answer adversity?

  33. I don't really think so... https://www.thedailybeast.com/southlake-texas-school-official-gina-peddy-asks-teachers-to-balance-holocaust-books-with-opposing-narratives Texas School Official Tell Teachers to Balance Holocaust Books with ‘Opposing’ Narratives UH, NO AJ McDougall Breaking News Intern Published Oct. 14, 2021 4:55PM ET Andrew Burton/Getty Teachers at the Carroll Independent School District in Southlake, Texas, were shocked last week when a top district official asked them to offer students “opposing” viewpoints if they kept books about the Holocaust in their classrooms. An Oct. 8 audio recording obtained by NBC News captured Gina Peddy trying to explain a new Texas education law during a teachers’ training session on classroom library guidelines. The law, House Bill 3979, requires teachers to present “both sides” when discussing “widely debated and currently controversial issues.” Peddy said, “Make sure that if you have a book on the Holocaust, that you have one that has an opposing, that has other perspectives.” NBC News spoke to six Carroll educators, including four who were in the room when Peddy made her remarks. They said they were worried about inconsistent, confusing messaging issued by district officials, and fear they won’t be backed up by the board if an issue arises. Days before the training, after a parent complained, the school board voted 3-2 to reprimand a teacher for having a copy of This Book Is Anti-Racist in her classroom. “Teachers are literally afraid that we’re going to be punished for having books in our classes,” one elementary school teacher said. “There are no children’s books that show the ‘opposing perspective’ of the Holocaust or the ‘opposing perspective’ of slavery. Are we supposed to get rid of all of the books on those subjects?”

  38. Like I said....I'm an outsider looking in. And I could be TOTALLY off-base with my thoughts. But this is what I've observed from Jacksonville as a possiblity: The demographics at Jacksonville HS (and most of the 5A schools in East Texas) have changed since the mid 90's. The hispanic population at JHS has exploded. There is a misconception and and near-stereotypical view that hispanic students have no interest in football...or worse that they "can't" play football. We've all seen it insinuated and sometimes blatantly said on message forums. The thought that they "can't" play football is absolutely ridiculous. The statement they have no interest in football is where being a coach and a booster has changed from the way they were 20-25 years ago. It's imperative that an athletic director and head football coach ACTIVELY involve the hispanic community in football. Enrolling them in city league football prior to 7th grade. Getting them on the field in middle school... then into HS playing freshman and JV ball. The "good ole boy" network of giving the starting positions to the kids with a "rich daddy" or "booster dad" are gone. And that's REALLY HARD for some of these towns in East Texas to let that power go. They have always run the show.....and relinquishing that is going to require a culture change in a community. Thinking about the more successful 5A/6A programs in East Texas. Longview, Tyler, Marshall, Texas High.... what have they all done successfully? They have integrated their growing hispanic enrollments into the growth of football. Yeah... they are still playing soccer in the spring... but in the Fall...they are donning the pads. I see several schools in our district that are struggling to do this.... and their W/L column is showing it. They are still letting the rich white kid who's dad is a lawyer or owns the lumber yard call the shots. That just doesn't fly in 2021 anymore. Not when your pool of players is shrinking every year..... 1. Gotta trash the good ole boy network 2. Gotta actively recruit and teach hispanic kids football just like you have white and black kids for decades. 3. Gotta involve the hispanic community in the game, boosters, fundraising, etc, etc....... That won't guarantee wins...... but it will at least address the fact that your talent pool is getting smaller and smaller as your demographics continue to change. Like I said.... I could be WAY off base. But it's just something I've seen trend in several schools in the region. And it seems like Jax has fallen into that trap of being stuck in 1995.

  39. I watched the game on their live stream and from what I’ve seen the coaches have given up. There were two ejections of jville players and I saw zero concern from some of the coaches. Discipline has been lacking lately and that is unacceptable. I can take not winning (not easy), but I can’t take a team without discipline. It is doing these kids no favors on being taught how to be men. I’m my opinion, the coaching has run it’s course and needs an overhaul. it’s sad to see the Tomato Bowl what it is now. Yes, it’s a lot nicer with renovations, but there is no fear from opponents like there once was. Teams used to go to the Tomato Bowl for a battle that they would more than likely lose. Now they are going for field trip and a W. The tribe only has 1 win since renovation and that is very hard to accept from former players. And I may be completely wrong about what I said about coaches giving up, but that’s what I noticed from the live stream.

  41. Love the NDNs but if you just listen to players which I'm around a ton. They are done. The once Pride to play at the Tomato Bowl is over. What needs to be done to bring life back? How do you get them to play hard? Needs to be answered to get it back.
