  1. Money isn't everything!! He has a system set up, coaches in place where he wants them. He has built a football factory and has total autonomy. Talking to some of his assistants that coach other sports, they are happy being assistants and winning. Carthage is a very nice community to raise a family, a good school district and cost of living is pretty low. All of us should aspire to be in that kind of situation.

  2. Dumb ### needs to be thrown the book and pay heavily for his actions..... my issue is and maybe its just because I wasn't paying attention but I heard nothing of the suspect being in Winona the night b4 during the chase, it'd been nice for me and my family to be alert and on the lookout, but as I said it could've been me just not paying attention.... skin color plays no part in this crime.... he needs to pay to the fullest extent IMO, our tax dollars shouldn't go towards his lawyers or food or anything, lock him up and throw away the key

  3. You can poop my post all day long dude. I don’t give a rip. Come to work with me. Come see how fake this is. Your brain would probably explode of you saw the things we see everyday. I’m nearly a 20 year veteran and I can’t even believe it. 20 something deaths a week in a small place like Longview..... now think regionally... then state.... then nationally. That math adds up real quick. We aren't counting jellybeans. We’re counting ruined lives. Broken families. What a luxury it must be to stick your head in the sand and deny it/call it a hoax. Denying

Former Jefferson Bulldog Dee Mitchell here....what an unreal story of a kid who worked his rear end off to put himself through school and get rewarded https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/watch-oklahoma-state-walk-on-dee-mitchell-surprised-with-scholarship-while-working-his-shift-at-walmart/

  8. Here's a legitimate example: Liberty Hill moved up to 5A-D2 and in their first year with a slot offense dang near made it to the title game. Put that in your pipes and smoke it. There are a handful of teams in 4A that can not only seriously compete in 5A, but can seriously have a shot at making it to the dance......end of story.

  14. I think any program that wins 8 state titles in 13 years deserves at least an "also receiving votes" when it comes to top 25 teams in the country. Any debate about what they could or couldn't do in other classifications is academic. You don't win 8 rings with luck. Carthage deserves the hype.

  15. Completely agree...if Longview starts the right QB, which means the most talented and best skills, then they have a shot to make a lot of noise next year. I really don't care what last name the QB has at this point, just let the best one start regardless of age/grade...

  16. I don't won't to take anything away from any team . Its tough to win state at any level. For the most part, the playing deck has been evened out more with the split classes, except for 6a. A school with 2200 playing schools with 4000 kids is crazy. The landscape has changed. It used to be that the rural 5a/6a schools (JT, LV, LP, Midland, Odessa, Killeen etc) and inner city 5a/6a schools (Carter, Yates, Skyline, Kimball, Ike) had all the talent. Pretty much everything is in the burbs now, and the demographics are changing in the inner city and rural areas. At the same time, at the

  18. I hope Ohio State goes down in a flaming bag of poo. They did not earn that spot IMO. They are at the mercy of their conference and got bailed out by the NCAA financial support team and ESPN. Notre Dame lost 1 game to the best team in their conference in the Conference Championship game against the team they beat earlier in the season. A&M lost 1 game to the best team in the SEC, but they also don't have a win over that same team like Notre Dame. That is where I see the logic behind putting them in over A&M. But the B10 and PAC12 can kick rocks and drink pee. They had no reason

  24. Of course they do!! I'm so shocked that "something else" is to blame!! LOLOLOL!!! Just fire the "something else" and let a little dribbler parent take over...I'm sure they would win state!! LOLOL!!!

  26. I watched it because... well, it is football. I will say that usually the only games that I watch with real interest are Longhorn games. Most other games I watch for entertainment. For the higher profile games I watch simply to listen to some of the absurdity and flip/flop comments from the commentators.

  27. Yea I too have noticed that when A&M lost by 28 it was harped on and I think single handedly kept them from the playoffs. If they had lost by 17 they probably get in but 28 scared the committee. Then bama beats Ohio st by 28 and we get to talk about how great bama is where as the same 28 points were more of an indication of how A&M wasn't playoff caliber. Funny how that works.

  28. The Dawg D would make stops enough for the offense to score. I believe the Dawgs would beat Aledo. Aledo has a great offense just not as good as the Dawg D.

  34. I just hope the UIL allows home team streams to continue. We had so many viewers, we’d pay them a cut. That’s all they want. The problem with the playoffs I listened to is the commentators just weren’t familiar with the teams. And the camera work wasn’t very good in several games I saw.

  35. Ten interesting facts: 1. Senior RB Dwight Smith, who was named the Texas Sportswriters Association Class 3A Offensive Player of the Year, wasn’t even mentioned in Dave Campbell’s 2008 Texas Football magazine. He had spent his junior year in California. 2. CHS started the season 1-2, losing to Kilgore and Nacogdoches of District 14-4A. 3. In going through district play undefeated, CHS’s closest game was a 34-point win over Diboll in the district championship game in the final week of the regular season. 4. CHS didn’t score in the second half of its 62-20 bi-district win ove

  37. Pretty much what ^ said. I could dig deep into this but to keep it simple, I'll make comparisons. Allen's potential is slightly greater than Dez Chumley. Grant's potential is slightly more athletic, larger size version of Bivins Caraway or his pops, Quincy Grant. Now, we get to Tutt. MAYBE not quite HK, but he could be the 2nd best Lobo QB ever when its all said and done. 4* caliber QB for the future. Good problem to have if you're Longview, but you can only start one. Size isnt an issue with none of these guys, Allen is 6'1 180, Grant is 6'3 dang near 200 and Tutt is
