  1. The calls for the offense to ply clean is just pointless at this point. They are who they are. They’re not changing. The defense is good, but they’re still gonna make bone headed plays. Is what it is. We can call and scream for them to clean up their act. But the fact is, we’re a turnover machine on offense and the team as a whole is on pace to be the most penalized team both in penalties and in yardage in the history of this program. King’s play calling isn’t changing. The time management isn’t changing. He’s been the same way since he first took over, and we’ve lost potential state championship game appearances in the past because of it. Definitely not changing with this year’s bunch. Would love nothing more than for our program to become a Highland Park in terms of discipline, but that’s a joke just thinking about it. QB play isn’t changing. We are who we are. Faster I and others realize that the better off we’ll be. I’m not gonna lie. We’ve had some teams in the past I was pretty much over with after game 3 or 4, 2016 being there most obvious. 2014 as well. But this one is just hitting me on another level. There is so much talent. So much. And yes we are young. But the young ones are the ones stepping up and saving our season. They’re the only reason we have a shot at the post season. I just am so beyond frustrated with how right there this season is. How on the cusp of being a state title contender this year we are, but we’re not one because of one position. It’s disheartening to know no matter what we do, we’re stuck with it. That and we’re going to get to go through the exact same thing again next year. All me a pessimist or whatever, but King is set in his ways and nothing is changing. I can hope and hope and hope but it’s for no good. And we saw that with the play calling last Friday. You can hold Highland Park, in two meetings, to 4 total touchdowns and 71 TOTAL rushing yards…yet still find a way to lose both games in almost identical fashion. It’s just beyond defeating and disheartening. I know people don’t agree with what I’m saying, or how I’m feeling, or the way I called out a player in the HP thread. But if I’m gonna celebrate and scream how good a player is going to be one week, they should also get that same feedback when they’re playing poorly in my eyes. You shouldn’t have it one way. We’ve become a program just under being actually elite/one of the bests these last two years, and I really feel it’s because of one position that refuses to be addressed. Now I know I don’t see the daily ins or outs. I’m not there and I have no reason to be. I see what I see, and also hear what I hear. But King has been leading this program for nearly 20 years now. The things that got on at Longview are as predictable as King’s play calling. It took us getting blown out just for him to start his own son. Is what it is. Will be there at most games the rest of the way, but that realization of where we are and where we’re going has definitely hit. And it’s nothing to Arlington unless something changes.

He’s brash, arrogant & thinks highly of himself; Those traits/character flaws are the reason I didn’t vote for him the first time he ran; That said, he is one of the greatest Presidents in America’s History... What we see now with the Puppet Joe Biden, is a Sham, a Joke, an Insult to everything America stands for, along with the laughing #### who is Vice President.

  9. Disagree. It was absolutely his worst game, but this was not 100% on him. Two weeks in a row with no halftime adjustments. Two weeks in a row with horrible second half play calling. Two weeks in a row where they completely forgot about Bijan in the second half. Again, this was Casey’s worst game, but there was so much more as to why they lost this game than just him.

  10. It’s not bigoted to say sword fighting cannot produce a child. It’s based on scientific fact. It’s also a scientist fact that there are only two genders. We supposed to “trust the science” on a substance that has no legal recourse attached to it, but the left can live in fantasy land when it comes to science?

Sick people were masks way before the government says this. I've known about this since I was a kid. I'm very anti rich people having poor people fight their battles or as you guys call it, government.

  16. This one is interesting for me. When I run the numbers for all games played, I get De Kalb favored by a significant amount. However, I don't have any doubt that Pewitt played a far tougher pre-district schedule. When I run the numbers for only district games, Pewitt is the favorite - although the sample size is really small. Just to summarize - I get a 41-19 De Kalb win when I run the numbers for all games played for each team. When I run only district games - and there are few, I get Pewitt in a 46-39 win. In my experience, this means that the game will be a close one. Here are some breakdowns by wost and best games - by my own metric : De Kalb's best 3 vs Pewitt's best 3 : 54-21 De Kalb De Kalb's worst 3 vs Pewitt's worst 3 : 27-21 De Kalb De Kalb's worst 3 vs Pewitt's best 3 : 45-20 Pewitt De Kalb's best 3 vs Pewitt's worst 3 : 61-0 De Kalb So based on this, I get a final somewhere between a 45-20 Pewitt win and a 61-0 De Kalb win. Wide spread - which means, I have no idea! Based on all of this, I predict De Kalb as the winner, but these teams always beat each other up, so who knows? I just wanted to participate

  18. Brother....I completely understand what you are saying. I am a few weeks ahead of you on how I feel about all of this. Blessed we have a John King but frustrated in some of the things he does. I also fully acknowledge that he has probably forgotten more about football than I'll every know and deals with things I couldn't imagine, but I can be a fan who has an opinion, none the less. The part I highlighted above is who we are and will always be. It will take a generational player to elevate us (every so often) to being elite for that particular year. I honestly don't think we will see any better than this. I don't think it is apathy...for me, it is a realization of where we are located, the talent we have, and what we are in terms of the program and coaching. Again I do recognize we are really in an incredible place as a non urban program. So I am going to sit back, let him do his thing and keep my expectations accordingly. I grew up in the days of Bero...I'll take John King over him or any other.

  23. Tough loss to take last night but there were a lot of things to like about where Sark can take this program. Sark had a great game plan coming into the game and I don’t think OU would’ve stopped the Texas offense if the Oline wasn’t so bad. As I pointed out in the shootout thread, Texas had 6 second half drives and 3 were doomed by Oline penalties and a 4th drive was ended with heavy pressure on the QB. For the first time that I can remember Texas had the best WR on the field in the RRS. Worthy was a stud yesterday and even after his costly turnover he came back and had 4 catches and a 31 yd TD catch to tie the game. The defense had a great gam plan for Rattler and gave up 13 points to the offense he led. (the TD was heavily aided by a missed called on 3rd &10 when the WR stepped out of bounds. The other TD was the 4th &1 run by Williams) The defense was not prepared for Caleb Williams and the young QB had the game of his life. Even when he was pressured and hit his passes found OU receivers. He threw a TD on a 3rd &10 where he got a bad snap and had pressure in his face after picking it up, he stepped up rolled right and hit his man in the endzone. Special teams had another punt block and Dicker made his FGs. Worthy and RoJo had mental errors bringing KO out of the endzone. RoJo brought his out to the 18 and the drive went 3&out after a sack on 1st down. Worthy obviously we remember the fumble. Texas is a much more improved team from game 2 to game 6 and that’s nice to see. Texas also has a coach that can out scheme his opponents and that’s nice to see. Texas is lacking at offensive tackle and pass rusher. Those two things won’t be fixed this year but this program is headed in the right direction and I think Sark was the correct hire.

  24. I want to give a big shout out to Zach Calzada for his performance tonight. I was his harshest critic and he deserved so much of it, but he rose to the occasion tonight and trusted an his offensive line in a masterful performance. Not so much the stat line but just how well he played compared to how limited he's looked the last 4 games. And that final drive... Coming in after what I thought was a blown out knee and executing a beautiful drive with even a strong scramble to grab a first down.... Young man you earned every bit of that tonight. Being carried off the field is something not many people for very many teams have ever accomplished and you deserve that after a gutsy performance.

  25. first and foremost to the C DAWGS as usual a well played game I tip my hat to. I honestly wish yall continued success for the rest of season. about our OC or lack there of. Randy Birdwell was set to take over the OC position after Brian Barbay retired after last season. Shortly before this season started he (Birdwell) was hired as HC at Hull Daisetta. while Jasper does have numerous position coaches for the offense there is no OC. so the play calling has fallen on Coach Barbay. to say the least it's good for about 56 yards of production. it is by far the weakest/worse offensive strategy in Jasper modern Era football.

  30. I went over this with another poster. Masks were not designed to keep virus out. They were design to keep the wearer from spreading the virus. No one ever said, they protect you, they protect others. That's why people who believe in masks complain about the ones that don't. The N95 just happens to do the best jobs of somewhat protecting the wearer. Once again, masks are NOT for the protection of the wearer. That's ALWAYS been known.

  33. Silly liberals. My body. My choice. I thought that was a popular a chant you guys loved. TikTok is a source of news now? A foul mouthed nurse is an expert. They’re thousands in the medical field who do not trust this shot. I guess Trump did do something right for you after all. You libtards are as gullible and sad as those Qtards. In your own little way, of coarse. Listen. If you’re in favor of a guy being able to tuck it back and declare he is a woman, you lost any credibility when you suggest a person can’t choose whether they receive a shot or not. Especially when those shots come from companies that are given full immunity from any civil litigation.

  37. Wellllll, I'm gonna speak to some of these issues, then I'm gonna disable notifications and abandon this thread... As an admitted johnny-come-lately and a hired gun, I don't have near the amount of skin in the game as 9/10th of the guys who post on Lobo threads. I haven't put in the time or tears that most of y'all have. I'm totally "new money" and a shameless sunshine pumper. I don't pretend to be anything different. At the end of the day, I'm just happy to be here. So please take my takes with that in mind... 1.) I don't care how much you think Tweet, or comment, or research, or break down film: there ain't a single one of us who take the losses as hard as the kids in those uniforms or the coaches on that sideline. Period. No matter how frustrated you think you are, it simply cannot compare to what they experience. These are coaches who work 6 and 7-day weeks, 12 and 16-hour days. These are men and women with families and lives outside of work, that don't really exist from July through June. No amount of money is worth that. Also, these are kids who go to school all day, have homework and tests, have relationship drama or hard home lives or emotional issues. They're also living in an extremely weird and complicated and polarized time right now. Far more so than the relatively halcyon days many of us enjoyed. Any one of them who "doesn't care" about winning or losing quite simply would've been eaten alive by junior high. They all care, and they all want to win. Every game. State, every year. 2.) In principle, I disagree with calling out this or that player. At the end of the day, even the oldest of them are only on the cusp of adulthood. Sure, 18 is "legally" an adult, but every one of you guys knows the difference between teenage "man" and a full grown man. I try to keep an encouraging posture with all of them, regardless of the situation, because I can't help see all of them as "just kids." BUT, at the same time... Lobo Nation is different. It's not better or worse, it's just different. The kids who come up through the grade school all have a certain intensity that isn't like other places. Doesn't matter if you're playing peewee league or church league or even during recess: there is an expectation of excellence. I see my 9-year-old son barking orders pre-snap or upbraiding teammates for slacking, and I see the kids who either roll their eyes or shrug and walk away. Some kids can't hack it, some kids have the dog in them. Only the strong survive. 3.) It is so easy for me, from the comfort of anonymity and the pristine perception of hindsight, to roll my eyes and say, "Wouldn't have called that play." Or perhaps, "King should start Smith instead of Jones!" It's safe and comfortable to do when you're free from the bounds of accountability or responsibility. But that's a sword that cuts both ways... as the top dog of Lobo Nation, John King understands that he is probably going to get too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses. He ain't a daisy, he knows how it works. His name is next to every win and every loss, and he's a big enough man to put it there and sleep soundly every night. No, even I don't agree with every decision or call, but I damn sure respect the hell out of a man who does the job he does. That goes for everything we see on Friday nights, and everything none of you see the other six days of the week. No, he's not above criticism, but he's also more than worthy of respect. They all are. We're all so lucky to be a part of this. We would all live a little better if we tried to enjoy all this a little more. Lobo up.
