Wish we could have played Marshall in Independence Stadium. I'm getting tired of playing in Tyler. I'm sure Independence was probably booked though.

I watched Good exclusively on quite a few plays. He's definitely the real deal. He was drive blocking well down the field. Too bad he didn't get to play much as a Sr. I applaud the Paris coach for trying to get control of his team, but he still has some work to do. Twice during the games Paris took 30 yds penalties (15+15) because of players mouthing at the officials after personal foul calls. One player was ejected. That stuff has to be stopped before the Wildcats can step up to the top of any district.

I think both of these teams know better than to underestimate the other.

Don't follow 1A that much so I don't know about Beckville. My hearts with Maud though.

True....not many THigh fans were that confident about that game. Same as I'm not about the Marshall game. If we win I'll be happy, but I'll not be smacking anybody this week.

Not sure what the final was in total yardage, but it had to be quite lopsided. Leroy Jones must have had well over 150 yds rushing at half.

Yeah.....DII just got a lot tougher. Everybody will be chasing Waco...IMO. That's one loaded team this year.

HP better hope for DI. I don't think anybody's gonna keep Waco from the DII crown.

I believe it would be co-champions with Sulphur Springs being the higher seed. In my book, Sulphur Springs would be the district champion. I don't care what the politically correct term is. They WON the district in my eyes.

Least favorite: Texas Stadium....worst place in the world for a highschool game. I can give you 50 reasons.

If you're an "outsider"....why has every post been something about a Maud parent being proud of their kid? You joined the forum 3 days ago & all you've had to say is about Maud. Doesn't really jive with your outsider statement.

It'll be interesting to see how T High responds after a district loss. I hope that the young kids we have step up & fight back. This season is still in great shape for a rebuilding team. I'd like to see them finish well & get a playoff win or two. There's no reason all 3 playoff teams in 11-4A can't cause some damage in the playoffs.

I actually like the grass fields & am hoping THigh stays away from the turf. I'll have to admit though that the SS turf definitely needs some work. The turf is about the only good thing at Grim (well the stands are ok). But there is a major overhaul coming as soon as the season is over (restrooms, dressing rooms, concessions, and press box).

Yeah Rollison was very good. I'd put him as the 2nd best QB we've seen.....right behind Duron of Evangel. He didn't throw enough deep balls to really get an idea of his arm, but his scrambling & short throws were exceptional. He'll really be a star to watch next year when he's a Sr. Does he lose a lot of his receivers????

The field was wet...which was very strange. But the better team won on that night. The field didn't beat Texas High. No DL line pressure & the scrambling of SS QB beat us along with the SS defense. I wouldn't accuse anybody of intentionally cheating, but the fact the referees had to put time on the clock 3 times in the last minute was strange. Somebody was asleep at the wheel on the clock. But even then, the referees got it right....which is all that counts.

Have to favor & root for MP here. MP 31 Lindale 21

I'm glad I was cautious with what I said pregame. Haven't eaten a lot of crow recently....it gives me gas. Just a little nibble for me please.

I said I'd wait til the replay to comment. I think the right call was made. Somebody said earlier that they were across the field in the student section & he was CLEARLY not in the endzone. After making the catch he fell backwards & part of his body did appear to break the plane of the endzone......but not the ball. However both referees are clearly looking at each other with neither making a call. It was not cut & dried, but I believe the correct call was made. I do NOT believe it should have been a TD.

Congrats to MP. Very nice win. I had a gut feeling that Lindale was gonna knock off No Lamar. I don't have that feeling next week. I think MP will assure themselves of a playoff berth with a 14 pt win.
