  1. You got that right. Rankings don't mean squat in the playoffs.........
  2. West Sabine plays the same way: hard nosed and fundamentally sound. The pitching performances against Colmesneil were an aberration compared to the rest of the season. 1-9 can swing it as well, with no easy outs up and down the lineup. Should be a good series.
  3. Field turf? That stuff is nice. Have you seen anything on Harleton? When I think of WS on the diamond, I think speed on top of speed. Should translate well to turf......
  4. West Sabine is coming off a grueling 3 game series with Colmesneil and Harleton just swept out Bowie. I will be the first one to tell you I know nothing about Harleton and what they have or don't have, but any team that gets this deep in the playoffs has to be a quality team. I think it will be an interesting series. Thoughts? Comments?
  5. This is confirmed? I have never personally been to Gary how is their baseball complex? Heard it was good.....
  6. I would but I'm workin 10-6 tomorrow. Thanks tho...
  7. Will do. About to get my grub on at IHOP....
  8. See you in basketball Wolfman!!! Be safe getting home......
  9. Should be a good game. Who is the designated home/away?
  10. Ahh yes, but each of these teams had won at least two games, unlike the Scarborough situation. I am all for more football and four teams getting in the playoffs can be a good thing. Just saying that there should be a contingency plan in extreme cases such as Scarborough's.:)
  11. 1-9 is better than 0-10. Said team would probably be one and done as well anyway. It's all about the $$$$$$ in the end, who has it and who doesn't. I'm all for more football just make it QUALITY football. No one (outside of the team posting the score and their fans) wants to see a 65-0 playoff game with a running clock. Last year Diboll got in at 1-9 after beating Huntington the last week of the season(they finished 1-9 as well), and then were summarily trounced by Fairfield 65-0 or 65-6.
  12. I agree. The more football the better in my opinion. And yes, after that last championship game ends I will be counting down till next August. Not complaining about anything. Just think there ought to be a rule where you have to be at a minimum 1-9 to get in the playoffs. I know the whole incident in Scarborough's district with one of the schools folding was unforeseen and unavoidable, and I hope that after next season this problem is addressed and certain contingency plans are put in place......
  13. Was talking about 2A this season. I didn't clarify myself. You are right......:)
  14. Yes it does happen from time to time, but statisics are weighed heavily against the Paris's, Tarkington's, and Whitesboro's of the world(just using the examples given not singling anyone out). None of the schools mentioned here were 0-10 either. It all depends on your perspective. If you are consistently near the top of your district you argue that everything is watered down, whereas if you are consistently near the bottom of a district you are all for it because you get to have the playoff experience. Most of the time in a 1 seed vs. 4 seed game you get the outcome like Newton (46-6 over New Waverly),East Chambers (41-7 over Palestine Westwood) or the 64-0 debacle WOS had over the aforementioned 0-10 Scarborough, where they had a running clock by the half. At the end of the day it's all about the $$$$$$$$$ made by the UIL.....
  15. Pulling for Chapel Hill in this one. Went to HS with one of the coaches.........
  16. I can remember a time where you actually had to WIN your district to even MAKE the playoffs. Anyone remember all the hubbub when a second team was allowed? Now those seem like the good old days.......
  17. Try to explain to an 8-2 team that went 3-2 in a six team district that narrowly missed out on the playoffs that a team who failed to even compete much less win a game did make the playoffs. There shouldn't be a running clock in a PLAYOFF game for God's sake. Feel bad for the Scarborough kids who had to endure a season full of beat downs. Maybe the UIL can make an exception for this district and add a team or two, due to unforeseen extenuating circumstances......
  18. Lol. I agree I think Alto should cruise........
