Can Kilgore clean up the turnovers and keep rolling ?

Well we kept pretty much the same coaching staff outside of Woods and the safety coach. So you couldn't expect much. But Kilgore definitely needs a new DC and CB coach.. I would start there and if a decent young minded OC is there would give them a look as well.
On another note did Chapel Hill Freshman QB turn 18?
I agree

Great game CH, Kilgore once again goes down because of a 1 dimensional offense . Sure was hoping this new coach would have more than that to bring to the table .Last year was the first year kilgore started opening up the offense and they looked really good . Hire a new coach and we just stepped back 10 years and tried to rely on 1 guy ( although he was a beast ) to carry the load .Very discouraging for the players and the fans .Sure would like to see something different in the years to come other than ground and pound especially when your offensive line is one of the smallest we have had in years .

Balance is key; Nobody is going to beat 2020 Carthage with a run only offense .
You are exactly right , this is as close to Carthage as I’ve seen kilgore play in awhile honestly and it’s pretty exciting . Going in year to year knowing that teams only have to prepare to stop our run was tough . But this year it’s really got the team excited knowing that they have a chance especially after each week that they continue to perfect the offense .

Last year was pretty bad especially by a team like Kilgore. This year they have a significant turnaround, hence the Coach of the Year possibility.
I guess I assumed you were talking about this season because it’s been far from horrible . The losses they had were from Carthage , first game , Gladewater, never should have lost that one and a close game to lindale . This team has never been as balanced as they are now and defense has played outstanding . They have continued to improve especially going into playoffs . Could really see them going a few more rounds if everyone stays healthy .

Chapel Hill hasnt played anyone with a pulse?
Lindale (Still in playoffs)
Kilgore (Still in playoffs)
Center (Still in playoffs)
Palestine (Made the playoffs)
Livingston (#1 Seed)??
Chapel Hill played Kilgore tough, not surprised they are rolling .

Kilgore wins , they will most likely have to use every weapon they have . There is a few that really hasn’t been used yet , but when needed they will come through ! Defense will control there running back and if they try to stop Kilgore’s running game that will open up another set of problems for lindale . Hope both teams show up healthy and leave the same way . Gonna be a good one !

Agree both have teams that shouldn’t overlook. Plenty of time for this thread.
Kilgore vs Athens
Lindale vs Palestine should be the main objective.
Main objective for the teams for sure , but since I’m not on the team and wanted to know peoples thoughts about the game then now is as good as time as any . If you think it’s to early then disregard and move on till next week !!

What are your thoughts ?

As well as giving everyone on the kilgore side the finger numerous times before halftime .

I see this one playing out like the GW/Center game with a lower score. Agree it should be an entertaining game.
I think you are right ,hopefully Kilgore can pull it out but I know they are taking it very seriously . Gladewater looks good .

Just a few years ago, Kilgore had a D1 WR and rarely threw the ball to him. (Hes at OK St.) So I wouldn't expect much passing. They like being predictable.
I still think about that often myself .

I agree with Kilgore not utilizing those receivers enough. You can tell when they start running the ball well the OC just stays with the run until it's a 3rd and long and then he calls a pass play when everyone in the stadium knows it's going to be a pass. I really hope these coaches use the talent they have on the field offensively anyways. The D is looking really good those young men play lights out if our O could help them out Kilgore is going to be a hard team to beat.
Exactly !

I did notice the o-line seems to be improving and I started seeing some good old o-line toughness Friday night . Once they lock up with you I feel they can handle business ,

Going with the Bulldogs. Alvarado gets blown out by two heavyweights and Decatur is ranked just above Kilgore in Maxpreps.
The Kilgore Oline is still a work in progress. When #5 has time to pass, he has plenty of guys who can catch the ball.
Yes he does , there is a good mixture of receivers available for sure and now is the time to be getting the timing polished . I honestly think our receivers are some of the best in our area they just have to use them and our QB has a arm that can get it done , I just think he needs the confidence that comes with repetition.

Kilgore problem is the offensive lines doesnt block the middle well at all, Kilgore will literally run the ball in the middle 15 times. The QB looks to have a little speed wont use that, and he can throw the ball and they dont use that. Kilgore will run the same 11 on defense practically the whole game, so second half the defense gets worn down. Especially when the offense isnt moving the ball. Team is talented, I just dont think the play calling is thay good.
I agree

Gotta mix the pass with a heavy run game.......otherwise they'll stack the line and your team will not make a deep run. 9 or 10 wins vs maybe 12 or 13 in a successful season???
I agree !

THOUGHTS ! ------DEFENSE STILL LOOKED NICE WITH SPEED AND AGGRESIVENESS, BUT ITS STARTING TO LOOK LIKE WE ARE SETTLING IN ON THE SAME RUN HEAVY OFFENSE THAT WE ALWAYS HAVE . WE HAVE SOME REALLY TALENTED RECEIVERS THAT WILL GO GET THE BALL , WHY NOT USE THEM AND HELP OUR BACKS OUT A LITTLE . I THINK THIS TEAM CAN CONTINUE TO PUT UP WINS AS LONG AS WE KEEP FROM GOING ONE DIMENSIONAL .
Kilgore vs Needville

So Bay City beat Needville , IC beat Bay city and Needville but both were close games . Bay City was definitely a good team watching them play Kilgore . I Don’t think Kilgore will sleep on Needville seeing how tough they played both BC and IC . But I’ve seen kilgore so many times this year adjust when the run or the pass is being slowed down . I think kilgore has enough weapons they will continue to fight through the next 2 rounds . And hopefully more !
