Just curious, did Alto lose any kids that may have changed schools during the two year hiatus that may come back? Any talent that may return?

IDK what Lovelady will bring to the table this year, but they've been on a roll lately and they probably still have some talent leftover from those teams. Based off of the last few year I'm going to put them as a favorite. Teneha will be the same as last year... They will win games with athletic ability and no discipline. Overton and Mount Enterprise will be the swing game for third and fourth place IMO. Unless Grapeland has something going on that I'm not aware of. Maybe they bring a playoff team to the district.

This would be a fun district!
I'm thinking we lose Carlisle and get Grapeland.

Trust me y'all have the best passing attack mart has seen. No running game and defense hurt y'all.
From what I've been told we went over 400 yds passing. Sorry, I'll let the topic die now.

Secondary has been the weak point since the first game or Overton pass game is the real deal. Overton caught my eye weeks ago so I started paying attention. If your running back did t get hurt against tenaha it's a different game. Kids never quit.
Our passing game is crowding 3000yds I believe.

Turnovers are part of the game. I said this for long time if you can kept mart under 25 then you are in a shoot out with mart. Look at their last 4 loses. Those teams kept mart under 25 points. Defense defense defense.
Lol. Well that formula went "out the window" early on.

Well what's done is done. And that's the result that 99% of the people in the football world expected. Now, I don't want to sound cliche and I know what everyone's going to say "okay, yeah right", but those guys aren't 40 plus points better than us. I know what the score read and I know we could not stop their running game. But we moved the ball on those guys through the air. I'm thinking we may have had nearly 300 yards passing. But we also had three turnovers inside their 10 yard line and gave them the ball once on a fumble around they're 15/20. There were a couple of more opportunities that we missed but that's part of the game. By no means am I saying we should have won, but I think we could have been within 2 scores. JMO.

Got family over in the big town of Overton. Pretty sure you'd know them. Thomas family. If memory serves me right I remember my uncle Jamie mentioning the name Sartors a time or 3.
Hell everyone knows Jamie

Here is a link to the top receivers in Texas...He's #54 in total yardage (not sure his stats are in for the DeKalb game)

There you have it... No. But very impressive for a sophomore.

We've backed into the playoffs more than once as a 3 or 4 seed, owning a losing record. I'm not a fan of it. I wish there was a system to have an at large invite to teams with winning records only. But what nightmare that would be. The two team format started my Sophomore year in 82. We were still playing in 8 team districts so a 3-7 record meant you probably lost nearly all district games, and had basketball on the brain for the last few weeks of football season. Now, IMO, with the 5 team districts the kids, and some coaches lower the bar on winning. I've heard it more than once in Overton... "All we have to do is beat Mount or Cushing and we're in". I can't stand that mindset.

Anyone tell me how the Sipes kid (WR) at WO did tonight. Heard he was having a descent year.

I think this series will go 2-2. I also think Mount could possibly change that, but 20 pts is a big turnaround to make on a playoff team. 3-1 to District 11 at best. Sorry, not sorry Carlisle, buy y'all drew the short straw.

Rough night though. Lost that guy who is a two way starter. Lost our other starting LB (leading tackler)to what I was told was a hamstring injury. And another 2 way starter to what looked to be a leg injury.
Regardless of our woes, Teneha is better. Their defense played well and their running game was clicking.
I believe we play Evadale in Bi District
