  1. Having a good program creates consistency. That's what the gentleman was inquiring about. Go "Bark at The Moon" Jake E Lee!!
  2. But if your looking to build stats, small school is your ticket. Come see us. You'll love it here .
  3. Lest you forget... Baker and the "move ins" system is no longer operating. Have you noticed? Check the record before that era hit. Game could go either way for sure, but we are confident we can win it this year.
  4. Yeah but it was the same situation last year and they won district. I guess I expected more of the same this year. Any idea what the numbers are now in Alto?
  5. I read these posts and people keep asking what's going on in Overton? I think the better question is what's going on in Alto? You have to dig deep to find an Alto team that has struggled like they have this year.
  6. Could've went either way. Or could've been worse. Turnovers tell the tale. Overton won the turnover battle and that was the difference. Great aerial attack vs great running game. Ash kid is fun to watch.
  7. Basically the voting Overton is going to go with whichever generation you played with. It's either a Kennedy or a Brager or a Starling. Also in the 70s there was the "JB Express" Jimmy Brown.
  8. Mmmm. I wouldn't put Johnston or Sikes on the list. But some of the other should definitely be considered. The way I see it in Overton is that we need to look at what criteria makes any single QB our best ever. Gill was when I was but a wee lad. But from what I know he was a gamer and could move the chains. I don't know about District Championship or playoff record though. Tony Jackson won 20 games in two years including a trip to the quarterfinals, had a good passing game but we were a run heavy team back then. Kelly Cook IMO is still the best all round QB we ever had. Was a 4 year starter so his win total should be near 30 I would guess. Unfortunately we had to play Groveton and Rodney Thomas three years in a row... we lost. Travis Jackson definitely gets consideration. Took a team to the semis, and surely had 20+ wins in his career. Stat wise Marshall was king for a couple of years. Lead a couple of teams to the playoffs, but had to play Bremond, 2nd round ,senior year... we lost. That leaves us with Still. Two wins last year but set school scoring and passing records. 6-0 this year and should set new records, and at this point we should be considered a shoe in for a play off spot. And he has his Senior year still ahead of him. So is it wins, or stats, or grit that you are looking for. My money has always been with Cook!
  9. Lol. Nothing close to what happened to us in Cushing last year. We would have won by two scores easily if not for the horrible calls. That being said... yes football and baseball officiating has not been good for a few years now.
  10. Middle aged. Unless 112 is old. Then I guess I'm past middle aged.
  11. Surely people don't think we are picking on weak teams. Remember we are the one who have won 4 games in 3 yrs.
  12. I agree with you about the competition level so far. I read on another website that had a post about this game and it was pretty accurate. We're beating the teams this year that we should've beat last year. James Bowie was a tough team and I look at that as our only solid win so far. As far as district games go, I don't know what to expect from Cushing, but I really think we can win our first seven games. It is what it is, and until we find a way to beat Carlisle, Teneha or Alto we will still be looked at as a third or fourth place team. That being said, We probably should have beat Alto last year. Teneha was not as good as what the score indicated. And Carlisle, well let's just say it's hard to have a 70 point turnaround in one season against a team. But we are on the move and we are improving.
  13. Idk. Maybe 2017. Went 9-3 that season. Lost to Bremond 2nd round.
  14. Would be a great confidence win for us. Lost several close ones last year. Got to win those close ones this year.
  15. Overton 14-0 over Boles... I think.
  16. I was leaving as Timpson put point 50 on the board. I was disappointed to see such a good team play so undisciplined. I'm gonna guess that they had around 20 penalties. 3 cost them scores and one cost them a possession deep in Beckville territory after recovering a fumble. Also, Beckville may be a bit overrated. Timpson O-line was too much for them tonight.
