I thought Kilgore panicked and abandoned the run when they got down x 8 in the 4th. They should have lost it there but the D came up with a fumble recovery. After that the run got them right back in the end zone. What a game though.

Large group of freshman. Several Juniors with a couple of years of starting playing time. Should have a strong o-line with a descent run game. Good hands receiving corps. QB is gonna be questionable/inexperienced. Who knows about the defense...or as someone will probably chime in and say "lack of defense". I feel we should compete for the #4 spot. Tenaha, WS and Lovelady will be the frontrunners. Cushing will be the team to beat for the final playoff spot. IMO

Wow. Haven't been on here for months and I come back to this news. Two things...(1) I'm kind if surprised if this was a mutual agreement with the board. I thought last year would have been considered a step in the right direction. Esp with the win over Newton. Didn't PP make it to round 3? (2) I'm not surprised if he was job searching after a "good" season, he did Overton the same way. That stuff can definitely agitate a school board.

And not to be insensitive, but who cares about that now? At least run a 30 for 30 marathon. Or better yet some old school lumberjack competitions and strong man contest.

You are misinformed. He did not get a raw deal at Overton. He came is season one and went 9-3. Lost to Carlisle (on two pick 6 tds) Teneha, and Bremond in Rd2. But even with a solid group coming back, he started interviewing for other jobs (which some didn't like, but its part of the profession). The next season we were preseason #10 which was fairly accurate. Maybe a little high, but for sure we were a top 20 team. Then the bottom fell out... We lost our starting QB b/c he changed schools to pursue basketball, and the other kid mentioned that was dismissed from the team was probably gonna be the district MVP, and a couple of all-district o-linemen decided not to play. Not to mention Colmesneil dropped us and we had to replace them with San Augustine who was as one of the best 2A div 1 teams in the state. Yes his back was against the wall, and yes a 1-9 season will definitely make you want to look for something better. But he was always supported by the admin and by all the parents that I talked to.

IDK what #6 has to do with anything. Anyway...One thing you cant allow to happen is to have a schoolboard member pressure an AD to play the board members kid. I've seen this first hand. The coach stood his ground and the board was split on whether to keep him or not. We fought and kept him, but he decided to leave because he didn't feel supported. Also, there seems to be a mindset of some kids and parents that their child should get to play just because of seniority. No kidding. I've heard kids and say that they will wait until their senior year to play, so they can start. Who teaches a child that. Kids that put in the time and get better should play. No matter the classification.

Watched a few episodes of The Witcher and so far I haven't decided if I'm gonna continue. Watched several season of AHS but stopped on the season about the lesbians with the fear of clowns. I guess I'll skip that one. Started watching Mindhunter and am enjoying it so far.

He got his 15 minutes of fame. But as for the whole thing paying off for him...Well, he's still in the soup line isn't he? Unless someone brings it up in a "remember when" conversation, he and his action are an afterthought. This was no Rosa Parks equal rights stand-off. It was a look-at-me moment in time that will sit in the annals of sports trivia somewhere between "Who was the Ravens QB when they won the Super Bowl in 2001" and "Who played center for the Bengals this year".
