Just give him a little more time.

So you saying that this job will not come open? If that's true the mesquite job will.
-
With the school board meeting coming up, will we see another job open up here in East Texas?
-
Coach Pope did not participate in the summer leagues. Although he was a good coach, player development is very crucial. These girls coming up now were downstream when he was there. Spring Hill is still suffering from a few years ago having those budget cuts. That's when coach Duncan was let go and also Coach Taylor on the boys side which now these two are running the program at Sabine. Spring Hill needs these coaches they have now to stay for a while and the programs will come back. These kids of late just saw too much turnover.
I agree with your points, but how do you get good coaches to stay at Spring Hill?

Hopefully one of these years we can invent a sport that we might actually be halfway decent at.
They way to get better is by firing all the coaches in every sport and starting over lol. Also kick a couple of students out to drop down to 4a.

Welcome back coach.
-
Wish he would of stay at JT, he would of added another threat to that offense.
-
If you speaking of Coach Ender, he has done a great job with the boys program.

Pretty much yeah. Even though some do, but most of our athletic girls do not play soccer. They have have never played basketball, just soccer. The current girls varsity has 2 Seniors (1 playing her first year)Follow that with 1 Jr, 3 Soph, and 3 Freshmen. The JV is winless on the season. The fact is, these girls were "coached" by great ladies, but they were not basketball coaches. These girls can barely dribble the ball, let alone score. Most of the girls have quit, because they just can't play, which is fine, the game isn't for everyone. So, yes, the Coahes failed to teach the basic skills at the Jr High level, and so we are having to deal with it at the HS level. The current girls coaches are great, and doing a fantastic job with teaching, but we are really behind in the basic skills area. They work hard and will play to the end, but it will be awhile before we can really compete with most teams.
I disagree, the problem started when the program let Coach Pope get away.

I thought he was from Gilmer where Coleman was the OC before heading to Jacksonville, my bad. An I believe if a man has a hot wife he will get the job over the coach with the ugly wife hahahaha.

Was last year his first official time to call the offense and he has a hot wife for the record.

Good luck to Coach McFarlin. I know his dad was a heck of a defensive coach, so I'm sure he has a great mentor in him to learn from. And if what gostwriter said is true, that he did a lot of the game planning and adjustments this last year, then I'm sure Lindale will be just fine.
I like Coach McFarlin always been a good guy but at the end of the day they are still Lindale. Looking to finish 4th this year so we shall see,

Seems like a manageable schedule for them could see them possibly making a run at the playoffs. Anyone know if they will stay with the power game or try to go to spread?
They will be fighting for the fourth seed if they make the playoffs.

Mercer is doing a good job.
We've got another tough year of football and then, the Mercer era will begin with groups of kids he's had enough time to work with. These 1st 2 seasons of his, he didn't have enough kids in the program to compete. They had all moved away or quit football long ago.
He's doing good things. Year 3 will be better (the best in SH in a long time) and year 4, he will have us in the playoffs.
Another big difference now is a DI and DII in 4a that didnt exist 4 and 6 years ago. Our younger kids are able to compete against schools more their size. They are all having success and staying in the program now.
If Mercer can find an OC job back at the 6a level around the Plano area next year, he will be out of there. On a side note Spring Hill does has a couple of 9th grades that can play just need to find about 7 more of them.

Only two football coaches were removed, the DC, and whatever the girls basketball coach coached. The rest were both tennis and both middle school basketball coaches. If anyone else leaves, it would be because they wanted to.
The OC who wasn't calling plays had the title removed also. I am wondering how did he let go the best tennis coach Spring Hill ever had who also won state I believe?

I have saw more than a couple of jobs come open on the THSCA job board. The tennis coach has done a great job there, did she retire? Also heard the athletes in an uproar because two coaches was let go that been there for ever.
-
Spring Hill not gonna make playoffs either. First time in 16 years. But get rid of other coaches besides baseball coach....Go figure.
Yes baseball coach was a good guy, but the AD think he has a better plan in place haha. He will end up like the last AD next year
-
They knew who they wanted from the start.
-
As I said before if the OC figure out how to move Miller around like they did Ross JT will have a shot.
-
Or maybe he has a better offer on the table somewhere else.
-
Well if the baseball coach need to stay in the area, he can go down the street to Spring Hill and still finish 0-10 or 1-9 in football.
-
Wasn't this job open two years ago?
-
Maybe the other brother heading back home to Troup.
DeSoto Open... again.

My bet is Gilbert or Mathis, going with Mathis. Don’t see Gilbert leaving Tiger land just yet but I could be wrong.
