Thanks for the props! Sure looked like the Tigers manhandled the SS Cats last night!!! KUDOS@!

Crosstown showdown is always a battle. Paris, I think, has stablized at QB with one starter instead of alternating two...does give them fresh legs but team seems to rally behind 1 in particular. NL has good field general and if AJ can return with Price and Thomas learning that they can contribute, it could be a surpriser! Paris' speed is impressive and if NL's defense can pick off one or two early, it could be a lopside game...for now, it's early and I'll give the edge to the Panthers since so many got to rest last night in the early lead and impressive... Just glad Randy Nation is doing the broadcast this week...Topper wears me out with all the student interviews from the beginning to the end...listeners appreciate his intent but want to hear the play-by-play, not play-by-the occasional play inbetween interviews...sorry John! I'm predicting NL, VA and Paris into the playoff in that order!

Some of the best basketball in northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma is taking place in Paris, or wherever Paris Junior College is playing! The 2004-2005 NJCAA National Champs have once again recruited well and putting up numbers that bear your attendance. Coach Ross Hodge's Dragons are 9-0 in Region 14 conference and 17-0 on the year and they've played some very formidable opponents. Certainly they are well prepared for each game and have had a couple of close calls but the character of the team is always upbeat and ready to face the next challenge...they are on the road Wed but will be home for a 4 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, 1/26. Kris Wood's Lady Dragons may not have the matching record of their male counterparts but have won 2 of the past three games at the buzzer in cardiac style!!! You won't find any better entertainment for your $'s worth...ladies tip off at 2 p.m....last week there were 5 4-year university scouts checking out the talent... It's a bargain at twice the price! :happy65: :happy65: :happy65:

Sulphur Springs 28, Texas Hi 24 Breaks a string of 26 consecutive wins for T-Hi

Anyone have the score of the NL JJ Pearce score from tonight in Royce City?
-
Huh...the Panther Pack have been using that one for several years...I remember the year 2005 when the guys painted their bellies P-A-N-T-H-E-R-S...and on their backs P-H-I W-H-O ? Maybe he'll be a little more original...

T-Hi 55, Lindale 26 SS 44, Paris 20 (2 PAT's, 2 field goals-great kicker in A.Cunningham) NL 30, MP 22 What's the standings going in to this week???
-
We've seen what T-Hi can do two weeks into district...and with a couple of schools at 1-1, Friday night could be a turning point for one team. History in recent years will give a head-to-head edge to NL over a formidable MP Tiger team...the run ruled for NL against Paris...but the pass has been a worthy opponent earlier this year...put them together and it could be another Panther will! Panthers will be one game short of the post-season after this win!

Kudos to the North Lamar Pantherettes for a 10-0 district race...props to the Paris Lady Cats for 8-2 year and what reads as an amazing 5-game match on 10/19. Best to both teams in the playoffs...congrats Coach Strip on a great job...you'll be missed. 13 years straight in the playoffs for the pantherettes! Hard to beat that tradition!!!! :happy65: :happy65: :happy65: :happy65: :happy65:

:happy65: Nice job...many, MANY posts have gone back and forth between Panther and Tiger fans as long as I've been posting...and yes, on both fronts, there are those who seem to be over-exuberent about their affinity for their team. It happens. But as long as I've been reading threads, I've never been so embarrassed for my T-Hi friends. Certainly they will address your inappropriate comments. Much like those of us from here, we know each other, I'm sure they know you to 'sirius-ly'. Thanks to all our Bowie county friends for the props. The woodshed is where attitudes like this were taken in days gone by. But I'll be 'dog-gone' if I'll stoop to make such a comment against the Tigers or any other team. I'll log-off and delete the website from my computer before I'd take this forum that critical. Period. :nuke: You're toxic.

Paris SS NL (I know, I'm thinking with my heart, not my head!!!! but a guy should be able to dream, right?)
-
None here...just know the bull's eye on the T-Hi's back for the dominance at the top of the heap for the last few years...everyone else would like their chance of being on top... (and maybe if the UIL realignment, we may all get our wish whether some go up and others go down...but it's always a #### shoot!)
-
You make a good comment....'if they start hookin' up'...history has shown they have been hot-cold...dynamics may be right heading into the 6th game...but remember the secondary at NL has historically been prone to pick off a few air attacks... ;) By this time Friday night, you and I both will know the outcome, while it may not be the final!
-
Can't hide my Panther pride...probably will have more support from the other 11-4A teams than any game all year in hopes of 'leveling the playing field' for the remainder of the season. :o Like many of my panther 'family', I too see it being a slim chance to pull it off...but least we remember the Panthers have been in the play-offs the last five years...and it appears that T-hi has the strength but not the same depth they had the past 2-3 years... Not gonna gamble, but will say we all will be surprised with the final score...The razzle-dazzle from the back of the play-book may surface if needed! :o :o :o

not the first time a D1 recruit sat out his senior year but will make for lots and lots of discussion on this thread especially for the NL and Paris backers...and gotta think SS, MP, T and L will all be happy if he's on the sidelines! And for all schools, isn't t his the end of the 1st 6 wks??? That'll add to the questions of who plays and who doesn't in the first district game!!!!
