  1. I meant I'd be afraid to see what Lancaster would have done to Marshall. But since they are done with their season, there should be no complaints. Outplayed, out coached, out classed, referees, no complaints or excuses. Too much talk before game and too many complaints after.

We had a great season from what we were several years ago. At least we still have a program. There was no out classed. I am sorry I do not think you know what you are talking about. I believe if you will go back and look at all the post, the Mav fans never claimed they were going to beat anyone. All we have done this year is be thankful for ever win after the past several years. I really do not think any Mav Fan said on this site one thing about referees in this game. We were out played and will venture to say there is no one in our district or 16 5A that could stay on the field with these guys. They were by far better than any of the teams in 15 5A and 16 5A. They had size, speed, and experience on both sides of the ball.

  2. MarMav congrats to the Mavericks for a great season and for the Huge win over Longview. I mean that truely. I WAS at the game and hated the weather conditions ended up like they did cause I saw this coming. Guys truth is Texas High matches up better with Marshall. T-High would have won against Marshall with the Mav QB healthy and if it was sunny, dry, no wind, and 70 degrees. I know what your saying..."That's easy to say now since T-High won".... But truthfully why wouldn't Texas High win that game!! The Mavs were the same team almost totally as they have been the last 3 years. T-High beat the Mavs the last two years in good weather and even AT Marshall. QB was the same both years and Haller kid was in the same roll last year I know not sure of the previous year. 2013 45-0 T-High, 2014 41-14 T-High, This years weather just kept T-High under 30 27-7. Not taking anything away from the season the Mavs are enjoying not at all, but enough with the excuses. Just enjoy your Playoff draw in D-II and good Luck. T-High will be busy Playing a D-I District Champion for their first round!!

How would you know what would have happen. No, we were not the same the same team we were the last two years. Alot of the same players, but not the same results. We went from 1-9 to 9-1 in those three years. Think that is a little difference. You nor I will ever know, but how did the Tigers playing D-1 District Champion in first round go for you?

  3. THS and Marshall could have played that game at Jerry's World under the dome and the results would not have been any different except the Tigers would have put up more points.

I am sorry I do not agree with this. I did not attend the game because of the weather and everyone but a few of the Texarkana fan base said the field and conditions were really bad because of the rain. Like I said I was not there but would have liked for the game to have been moved but some did not want to move the game.

  4. I agree UnclePig. Clint Harper has done an outstanding job since returning to Marshall. Playoff appearance his first year. Playoff win his second season. And now in his third a POSSIBLE undefeated district championship. His theme coming in was "Regain Respect" and i think mission accomplished. The school board deserves some credit in recognizing what he would bring and giving him the opportunity.

You are correct Real Mavfan. He has done a wonderful job.

  5. Back to football talk...gonna be interesting to see how this 'high powered' Marshall offense responds to the #1 defense in the area.

Only one team has been lucky enough to pass for over 100 yards against us this season. That was Lufkin with 108.

Granted, thank goodness the opposing teams' WR's couldn't catch in some of these games. But then again, alot of those throws were rushed because our front 7 have played so darn well this season as well.

I guess they responded pretty well. Had 320 yards passing nearly 3 times more than LP.
