  1. The Bulldogs were great on defense again, making one mistake all night. Jasper awaits the winner of the Henderson/West Columbia game tomorrow.
  2. We went three rounds deep last year before losing to West Orange-Stark 18-16, but the last time we went farther than that was in 2004 when Gilmer beat us 49-47 in the 3A title game. Historically, we've had a bunch of regular season success but haven't often seen that translate to deep playoff runs in the postseason.
  3. Poor Dublin. My uncle lives there and is a die-hard Stephenville fan for a reason. It's gonna be a long night for the Lions. Newton 56-7.
  4. Stafford beat Sealy 33-3 tonight to secure this matchup. The game will be played next Friday at Beaumont ISD Stadium with kickoff set at 7:30.
  5. That was the only time that Jasper has made it to the title game and such a painful way to lose.
  6. That was a good write-up. The Spikes/Williams backfield has been pretty good for Jasper the past few weeks.
  7. Agreed. Kilgore seemed to be shell-shocked from the beginning and other than the busted coverage on that TD pass, couldn't really get anything going. I'm sure Jasper's speed had a lot to do with that, but Kilgore couldn't adjust to it. It's been a long time since Jasper has been that solid on defense and that's what gives them the chance to go a few rounds deep.
  8. I've only been on this board a few days. I usually post on the SETX board that kind of covers Jasper, but there really aren't a lot of posters on either board that follow the Bulldogs. That's mostly because every two years, Jasper flip-flops between the East Texas district (Carthage, Diboll, etc) and the Southeast Texas district (Silsbee, LCM, etc). It's great to be by Lake Rayburn, but from a high school sports perspective Jasper's in an awkward spot.
  9. Jasper games: www.kjas.com or search "KJAS" on tune-in radio.
  10. Most of us are proud of how we played, but not willing to rub it in, I hate to get on one of our few posters here (JasperDawg), but all of that was uncalled for.
  11. I didn't mean for that to sound cocky at all. I just might have underestimated us up to this point. We're by no stretch unbeatable. That's been proven already...
  12. I know what you mean. I'm pretty surprised about a lot of what I heard tonight. Based on what we heard about 10-4A. maybe Jasper is better than even we think.
  13. That would surprise me. As much as I respect Silsbee's program, I've never seen Jasper overmatch them like this year. They're just not good and I think Henderson wins that game probably 28-7, if not worse.
  14. That's true, but Kilgore would beat Silsbee handily right now too. They're our most historic rival and they're usually really good, but they just don't have much this year.
