  1. X the biggest number you want to place here Could not have said this better myself
  2. Is this right? Has it really been 81 years?!!! Wow... congratulations Longview! Yall had an awesome team this year! Fun to watch! Looking forward to see what yall do next year!
  3. Yes sir, Pax, Gunter was very good. They would have played Newton much closer this year than they did last year. This year flew by fast - too fast, but it was very fun. There were some really good teams this year in 3A D2. I realize that one poster does not have any respect for the teams that are out west, but I wish that the smoaky folks could have seen Abernathy and Childress play football. Those two teams had some real power. Very well disciplined, physical, and would lay the wood. I believe that the smoaky fellas who appreciate physical football would have enjoyed seeing those two teams play. Yall have a Merry Christmas!
  4. Canadian is a fairly young team this year and will have a lot of their boys back. I would count on them being in the thick of things again next year. Would not be surprised to see Koetting have them back in the state title game.
  5. Good luck to yall! I hope yall make it.
  6. Yall have a good team. to be honest with you, I was scared to death of this game tonight. And yall did not disappointment. In the past four years, the only other 2a team that I can think of who was as successful at shutting our offense down like yall did tonight is Albany. Nothing to hang your head about on this one. Your qb and your tall wr are a lot of fun to watch, and your kids play hard and with a lot of class. I noticed this week that yall have had a lot of playoff success. Looks like a solid program over there. Congratulations on another good season and good luck to yall in the future.
  7. Muenster has never had speed. We have had several good teams through the years, and very few have had speed. With maybe the exception of the 1995 team, the 2013 team is the best team that I have seen Muenster have and there was not a speedster on the team. You know, it is possible to have a competitive, even good team without speed. It is called hard work and discipline. LOL As for the game tonight, both teams made tons of mistakes. Lovelady was constantly shooting themselves in the foot. I would love to have a dime for every false start penalty they had. And I do not know what is wrong with Muenster. with the exception of our opening driving, we looked awful. havent looked right since the Childress game. Several of us have talked about this and no one really knows what is up with the boys. I believe the difference in the game tonight is seen in comparing both team’s character of play in the second half to their play in the first half. In the second half, Muenster rose to a higher level – Lovelady did not. Aside from halftime adjustments and “come to Jesus” talks, I believe two things really helped us out. The first is the playoff success that these boys have had. Our seniors are 14-2 in playoff games, and in their junior high years they saw Muenster lose in area and regionals. They have the mentality down. And then the schedule we played in nondistrict prepared our guys. Childress and Cache will line up and hit you, and Pottsboro brings all kinds of things for a defense to face. We really got punched several times in those games and took a butt whippin in Childress. Two of those wins, Cache and Pottsboro, we really had no business winning. still cant believe we beat them... anyway, we had to play with a ton of adversity and I believe that paid dividends tonight. just my humble opinion though…..
  8. Greezy, we should get together and do this in the regular season sometime... you know, when there is not everything at stake... maybe we can get Horn and Carney together? Merry Christmas and congratulations to yall on a another great season. I am sure that Tenaha will have another good year next year, even with the move up... we will be watching...
  9. Thanks regal. Coach Carney and his staff have done an excellent job. You could see the "completeness" by our kicking game. No obvious weaknesses.
  10. Thanks for the support. Wellington was for real... of all the teams we played, they were the biggest and they were the quickest... very fast... they were the only defense that our offense could not drive the ball on, scored on big plays. and their offense was the only offense that our defense could not stop, they stopped themselves. Wellington should have been the state champs imo... keep an eye on them next year, they only lose two guys... they will make a run again next year. would pick them to be in the state title game if Stratford wasnt dropping down ***Edit: After I posted this, I realized that we did not drive the ball on Albany's defense either. In fact, we only had 246 yards of offense against Albany. Our defense carried us in that one.
  11. We have had a rough ride, no doubt... Petrolia was tough because that was a grudge match... they always play us tough and physical... other than that, it was Iraan, Munday, Albany, and Wellington. Iraan, the team that lost in the state title game last year was the weak link. still cannot believe we beat Wellington. Wellington had a huge line... tons of speed in the backfield and receivers... They were much bigger and faster than us, no doubt. don't know how we beat them. do not believe in luck, so I will say we got fortunate. Anybody from Muenster if they are being honest will agree... only thing I can think of is that our boys willed themselves to win... it is that Kraut mentality - stubborn and hardheaded.... the same reason that our blond-headed, blue-eyed young women go and marry men not from Muenster, and then make them move back to Muenster. hahaha
  12. Cool Man, don't worry about that. Honestly, I never have been on that app and do not intend to ever do so..... don't really care for apps anyhow. probably most of those people are not from Tenaha or Muenster anyway. Bandwagon jumpers misrepresent... on the other board, sure you seen it, there is a thread that has been up since the first two or three weeks of the year saying Muenster is going to be the 2AD2 champs..... granted that guy is not from Muenster, and at least he admits it, but it is still embarrassing. As for Tenaha fans, I heard nothing but great things from Muenster people who were at our game with you two years ago... have not heard a negative thing, and that is rare. When you play a team with class, you look forward to it, imo. asnd there is always one - and maybe even 2 or three - in every town that provide the drama with xtracurricular mouthing. classlessness is unbecoming, especially over something as trivial as a football game played by teenage kids.
  13. Hey Greezy, I read somewhere, maybe the other board, that you said you had made some trips through Muenster recently.... like during the summer. What were you doing in Muenster? Had I known you were in Muenster I would have met you and bought your lunch.
  14. Just thought that I would tell you a bit about Muenster: 1. We are not big (we will probably be the smallest team that you have played all year) 2. We do not have speed (compared to the teams that you have played, we will probably be one of the slowest) 3. Any film that you see on us will not impress you Looking forward to a game with no injuries and lots of class.
  15. gotta say that I read your post and laughed... just last week I was in Henrietta doing some work and went to eat. Ended up eating with 6 oldtimers and struck up a conversation. they started talking about high school football and I sat for 30 minutes and listened to them talk about how they dislike holliday so much and how they hateed losing to them this year... Having lived in the area all my life I know this rivalry well and it goes beyond the high school sports teams... believe you are spot on with your comments lol
  16. Yep, it only took our boys and girls a combined 8 trips to the state tourney and just over 25 years to accomplish the feat. Really happy to have a trophy here in Muenster.
  17. I get on here and read time to time. I have been following this thread and thought I would contribute something to it. I hear people make this argument, your statement, all the time. It is usually in the context of capital punishment. First, the severity of punishment does teach. The reason punishment should be severe for certain crimes is to deter those who can be impacted by it. Sure, severe punishment does not mean that there will be no lawlessness, and nobody argues that. Howver, for some, severe punishment is a deterrence and that is exactly why this kind of punishment is needed. This is where liberals miss the point. For those others who are not deterred by it, we have other ways to deal with them yet. It is all done to make sure that we stay a lawful society. As for this particular situation, you need to consider the entire team yet, because that is who is affected. It is not just the one player. And if you believe for a minute that kicking the kid off of the team will not significantly impact the other players on the team then you are fooling yourself. Of course it will impact them! Kick him off! It will teach the team a lesson, and it will eliminate the possibility of the boy doing it again. Who knows whether or not in a few weeks, the opportunity will present itself again yet, and the boy who is a senior will have nothing to lose because he is playing his last game, so he does it again. Except this time, is seriously hurts another kid. I heard it stated that he is just a kid. How about start treating these teenagers like they are adults? If people would start raising their expectations of teenagers, lo and behold, there might be a difference in the behavior of teenagers. Regardless, what this boy did is wrong. There is absolutely no room for any kind of this stuff in football, nor anywhere else. This is an extreme case and it should be severely dealt with. Am I am shocked to hear a “coach” on here arguing otherwise.
  18. I nearly fell in the floor laughing at your comment. Right on. If I were the coach, he would have not been on the team this past week. If he wanted to go to the game he could have went and bought a ticket.
  19. Hey Argyle guys (ScotlandtheBrave, regaleagle, Aguilafanatico) just wanted to tell you guys that I sure have enjoyed reading your posts over the past several years. You guys have class. Really enjoyed the Lauren Daigle clip too - that young woman can sing! Anyway, good luck against Wylie. I am pulling for you guys.
  20. Gamewatcher, I wanted to tell you thanks for your kind comments and gesture that you made toward our boys (Whitesboro) and me on the Mineola-Whitesboro thread. I apologize for not responding sooner, but I did not see your final comment until a few days ago. I want you to know that I will see those boys in the morning and pass your message along! And congratulations to yall on your big victory today! I listened to the game on the radio. Man, yall have a good team. Callisburg is no slouch. Best wishes to you against Sunnyvale!
  21. Thanks gamewatcher! Several of the kids that attend my church go to either Whitesboro or S&S, so I know them personally. They are good kids. Whitesboro and S&S both had good seasons and proved to be tough outs. Congratulations to Mineola! Now in case you boys do not know this yet, get ready for next week, because it is going to be a good un...
  22. I have never watched a game there, obviously, but I did stop by there on one of my trips through Fort Worth. It amazed me because I lived in Fort Worth for six months and never heard of that stadium until the book. Anyway, it would be neat if they are still playing games there. Very true! I just wish that the book ended differently, specifically the Amarillo game and the way Hardy Brown's life ended. Anyway, congrats to Aledo! And good season Temple! Merry Christmas yall!
