  1. See there much more entertaining before
  2. I think you were much more entertaining back when you were a little controversial instead of so informative :)
  3. Sad situation when the patients run the asylum. I have been in situations where some in the community would let it be known that they were "coming after ______ coaches job" Not a very good situation to say the least.
  4. Had one of the Dads coaching one of the little league teams, lets just say around the Tyler area, come up with a new offensive term and he was serious about it. Dollarback, (it was the slot receiver). He figured we had a quarterback, halfback, and fullback so why not.
  5. I have coached at two different schools that have had games at Tennyha as you spelled it. Both teams were excited about the chance to go to THE PIT and compete. Visitors side bleachers aren't that bad and the stadium is nowhere close to the worst in the state. Excluding the playoffs the atmosphere in THE PIT is second to none. Great place to play a 2A or 3A football game because you know that you will come out of that game knowing where your team stands.
  6. Think I'll go to another thread before I get into trouble.
  7. Well I think it comes down to is the glass half full or half empty, but I'm going to give you a +1 on that
  8. Both of my sons thanked me for making them run track when they were young (Jr High). It helped them with self motivation, discipline, speed, endurance, coordination, endurance, well you get the point. Both of them were tall early but very thin. (DNA) and were a little slower. They did dominate down low though when the Little Dribblers NATIONAL TOURNAMENT was played in (fill in any small town in Texas) lol. The results that I believe came from Track & Field were eventual all district performers in both football and basketball, qualified for regionals their Jr & Sr. years. To the point of the post, yes there is a connection to a successful football team.
  9. Good for Zach I guess that puts Miller on the mound against Spring Hill. How long has Miller been at Bullard?
  10. Prayers to Coach Johnston and his family. Continued prayers during recovery.
  11. Thanks for the info with the quote issue. I can assure you that threejs can name the other lefty I was talking about
  12. Cant figure out why the respond to quote isn't working on my account but here goes. Hey ThreeJs looks like Bullard has a pretty good lefty this year. Seems like a few years ago they had another pretty good lefty pitching for them but I just cant recall his name. Good luck to the Bullard Panthers the rest of the way.
  13. Games evolve in every sport we have. Football is changing yearly with the concussion issue. Players are bigger and faster than in the past. Look for the field dimension to increase in Football and everyone that has put in turf will have to change their field. Talkin about cost. Baseball rules are constantly being tampered with to increase pace of play ie. umpires getting the hitter in the box. Volleyball (to include the women) can now hit the net on the serve and the ball is in play. We could go on to other sports but lets just say c'mon basketball purest get with the times. My suggestion is 45 sec. shot clock, plenty of time for those teams that still want to slow down the pace of play.
  14. When my youngest son received the Andy Griffith gift pack from the grandmother, he didn't know what it was at first. Then after xmas break he would get in a little trouble for watching the DVD's instead of doing his homework.
  15. The backboard was not introduced to the game until almost 1900. The reason they decided to put a wood backboard behind the basket was to keep fans from leaning over the balcony and interfering with the ball. So see fans have always been a problem at basketball games lol
  16. Guess that Carl Edwards knew what he was doing when he jumped ship from Rouch Fenway
  17. Well just to move this back up I will sadly report that Paris backed up that 32-0 and 17th ranking (why 17 I still don't know) with a 95-44 victory over Tyler Chapel Hill. Just wondering if the bench saw any playtime in this one. You never know when those subs will be needed down the regional road.
  18. Mariota needs to be drafted by someone with an established qb. The old school way of preparing a qb for the NFL. Let him learn on the sideline from someone experienced like a Brady, Romo, Brees, etc. I know that this is not the way of the NFL these days but the fact is that the young man is not prepared for the pro style offenses of the NFL so bring him along a little slower and some team will be much better for it. IMHO
  19. How many basketball players are missing from White Oaks baseball team for the scrimmages?
  20. I too went to several Spurs games back in the day and the corner seating is not the same at all if they stay with the same arrangement. The corner seating used to come all the way to the floor. I guess we will have to wait and see (or not see) when we get there.
  21. Buckeye I cant guess why they are still ranked so low. Some teams in front of them in the rankings have 6-8 loses. Argyle 24-8 Hardin Jefferson 27-6 I can only guess it was strength of schedule. Did the Van tournament have any strong teams other than Paris there this year cause they won that one.
  22. Two years ago man I'm getting old. Thanks for the info. Good luck to ya'll this year in baseball
