  1. Stanford has more tradition than tech but to say there programs is a step above tech at the current time is not true. When was the last time Stanford finished consective years in the top 25? As far as Stanford paying him more I really do not think so. There last coach was making around $800,000 and Leach is currently making $1.7 million not to mention the cost of living in California would be 10 times what it is in Lubbock. Lubbock definitely is not in a pretty part of Texas but as far as medium size towns go it really isn't that bad. The people are nice and there is plenty to do for college age people, although you won't find me spending the rest of my life here.
  2. some people do care believe it or not but you don't have to
  3. Well this makes me kinda sad. Unfortunately it sounds likely that they will offer him the job as Leach met with the Miami AD and their defensive cordinator(Shannon) tonight. Apparently they are trying to keep their DC who had been in the running for the head coaching position. Leach hasn't been the best coach in the nation and our defense has frustrated me for several years now but I love our offense and hate to lose him if he does decide to go.
  4. Not the most exciting matchup ever and it won't be seen by many since its on the NFL Network but I guess this is about what tech earned this year.

  6. I totally agree with this and would like to just add that its one thing if you leave your starters in the entire game when blowing a team out but if the second and third stringers are in why should you tell them to stop playing or not run the offense that they run in practice every single day. Live reps are more important than any amount of practice so coaches should take advantage of this when they have the opportunity to get some young men in that don't normally get that opportunity. This is division-1 college football with coaches getting paid in the millions and players that are grown men that could be fighting in a war so if they can't handle 3 extra points being added on when a field goal is kicked then they are going to have a hard time getting through life.
  7. 2 of the 3 are done for good at ttech http://www.lubbockonline.com/stories/11010...d_4509956.shtml Leach dismisses two Tech players BY DON WILLIAMS AVALANCHE-JOURNAL Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach has kicked offensive lineman Dimitri Lott and defensive end Rashad Hunt off the team in the wake of their arrests Friday in connection with a Lubbock residential burglary. Leach said another player arrested in the same incident, linebacker Julius Howard, is in good standing with the team as far as he is concerned. All three are freshmen who came to Tech as scholarship athletes. Leach said the dismissals of Lott and Hunt are permanent. Though his statements Monday didn't reflect it, Leach said after Wednesday's practice that he already had written off Hunt "for failing to show up to meetings and classes and some things of that nature.'' He said he decided Tuesday night to dismiss Lott. As for Howard's status, Leach said, "He's fine.'' Explaining their situations Monday, Leach said he didn't think Howard "had a significant role in any of this.'' Shortly before 3 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call from a Lubbock resident who said he saw two men leaving through the front door of his home and then noticed electronic equipment missing. Police obtained a description of the suspect vehicle and subsequently arrested all three players after a traffic stop. According to police, the missing electronic equipment was discovered during the stop. Mike Calfin, a Lubbock attorney who represents Lott and Howard, declined to comment when contacted Wednesday. "It's too early to say anything,'' he said. Hunt lost his scholarship before the season when he was ruled academically ineligible. Though barred from playing, rules didn't prohibit him from working out. Tech offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh said recently that, of the offensive linemen the team signed in February, Lott and Chris Olson had been the most advanced during workouts this season. Lott had been training at guard and center.
  8. How do you know this? There is no way to know....Its easy to do "IF's" all day long but they mean nothing.
  9. Baylor never did have a 21 point lead against Texas so it is stupid to say they would have scored atleast 1 point in the second half if they had. Tech doesn't have a top 10 secondary but it is top 20 sitting at number 17(nothing like the number 117 ranked pass defense of A&M last year) while Baylor sits at an unimpressive number 60 in the nation. Im not a big stat guy but I had to points this out. http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?ye...assdef&site=org Tech is favored by 17 for a reason
