Doesn't the coach who wins district get Coach of the Year most of the time? The fact that Spring Hill finished 2nd, behind Bullard, and made it to state and Bullard did not should garner him some consideration for Coach of the Year for East Texas. The Spring Hill girls stepped it up come playoff time. Congrats to them and their coach. :thumbsup:

Good season for the Lady Lobos, but didn't see them getting past this round. They are young and will be back next year.

Congratulations to Jacksonville. I thought Whitehouse would walk away with this district. Keep up the good work over there.

How many applied for the job? Spirit.......will you be the first to break the news, now that you are out of town? I think Tomlin would be a great choice, but I think Carr might have the inside track......he is already used to not getting his players until late.

The Lufkin coach is supposedly related to the soccer coach, or someone on staff. He is the frontrunner from what I have heard. Now, here is my question.................what has he done at Lufkin? Can anyone out there give me some numbers on him? I know Lufkin has been good in football, but what have they done in basketball.......say in the last ten years? If McFarlin hires a basketball only guy, then maybe some of you are wrong. If he doesn't hire the most qualified guy, then his true colors will show. By the way, how did the Daingerfield basketball program do when he was there? Can anyone of the McFarlin supporters give us some numbers there? Wally did not leave just to leave, I can promise you that.

So, are you saying that the new basketball coach will have to coach football? Will Whitehouse basketball be like Troup basketball in a few years? I think Troup basketball used to be pretty good.

There is no rule about playing while school is still in session. If you commit to something, then you should show up.
