  1. I say close game like Atlanta with gilmer winning with superior athletes. Both are well coached and disciplined. But I say gilmers players are better.
  2. Lol that was my bad. We played LE who is a great division one team we beat. So is Carthage who we beat that just beat navasota. That was my confusion on saying we already played atlanta. But my point still stands on everything but the fact that we've played them already. And let me tell you a story. I know a lot of people. And one of those people told me about the time he talked to a Tatum coach about playing gilmer. That year Tatum was destroying everyone. But when it got to the gilmer week it was like practice was at a standstill. They knew what they were facing in gilmer. I've seen it myself. They come to play. But two touchdowns in and boom, its like they just want to leave
  3. Gilmer is good. Very very good. And they keep getting better every game. When they played Atlanta the first time, they had no idea what their own identity as a team was without last years seniors. They've come into their own now. Atlanta is good, but gilmer can stop their run game better than a pass game, which atlanta won't bring anyways. Gilmer will win. That's the thing. At the back of every atlanta players head its there. Atlanta hasn't beaten gilmer in a decade I believe at least. Gilmer gets up by two touchdowns at any point in the game, and we already have atlanta beat because those players have it in their head they can't beat gilmer, same with Dangerfield, same with Tatum, same with a lot of our rival schools. I put my money on gilmer. This isn't west orange stark where I'll freely admit its up in the air. This is atlanta. Gilmer to win
  4. Center is about to get trashed.... Gilmer is dominating defensively and offensively. 14-0 is just the start
  5. Now all that being said, this is one of the games gilmer could really lose. Center certainly has its shot. And a good one. Anyone who picks them over gilmer has their head on a little sideways. But that game could go in centers way real quick
  6. And pleasant grove was an excellent example of what a good gilmer game could be. Seven turnovers and we still put up that many points and win. Pg played amazing and still couldn't beat a gilmer that couldn't walk in a straight line without dropping the ball.
  7. If I had to put a score out. I'd say a closer one 45-30 gilmer. Gilmer is coming to play, not worried is different from overconfident. They know center is good, they just know they have the ability to win and they're going to go at it. Centers going to come to play, and I see spears folding a bit under pressure closing the scoring gap from an otherwise more dominant gilmer win. Gilmer running game will be big, with depth and skill, drawing in the defense that gives gilmer a huge amount of passing opportunity. Zack's been looking good. If he plays like pg itd be tough. If he plays like mexia gilmer for the big win
  8. Okay. So I'm friends with all the gilmer players. They aren't worried. Not even a little. Neither are the coaches, when we have a sincere chance of losing like against argyle a couple years back. The coaches would talk about it being a tough game. The players would be nervous. The thing is they shouldn't be scared. Last weeks gilmer would beat the best center game. That wasn't even close to gilners best game they can play. Gilmer to win
  9. Honestly the buckeyes played their worst game of the year against pg, and pg played their best. We won anyways. How many teams do you know win with 7 turnovers and still put up as many points? The buckeyes played a good game against mexia. Not an excellent, not their best, but a good game. If Gilmer plays well, center won't win even if the play perfect, because mexia's problem wasn't playing bad, It was that we were just that much better. Now what's this I hear about hurt players on centers team?
  10. Yeah I say gilmer if they keep the turnovers low. Gilmer is just the better team. Gilmer would have to play bad, mexia would have to play great. But I say gilmer
  11. Don't you think we'd have a better qb than the one we have this year? Lol trust me on this, we don't recruit. That mclane Carter kid? I knew him since he first moved to gilmer in fifth grade. He left for one year and then moved back in with his dad. He was gone for a single year and people accused us of recruiting. Our entire team is made up of people we've had for a while. All our stars are the people we've grown in the program. Blake lynch? His stepfather and mother live in gilmer. His stepfather coached here. He moved because of that. I wish we did recruit, I wouldn't have to look away every time I see that qb throw another a mile away off target -_-
  12. And on the population thing. Gilmer is a small town. I mean we have a kid or two move in every now and then, but just as many move away. It's a small town and the amount of kids isn't really growing. We don't really have move ins just to play football either. I mean we turn down people like that quite a bit. Gilmer isn't into that kind of stuff. Our teams are already good. Having one person move in doesn't make the team. The team is already there. I remember losing several athletic superstars just because they couldn't get their head on straight. The success of the program should be attributed to the program alone. And the day we have enough to be d-1, they'll move us up. There's no funny business lol
  13. My prediction is gilmer by quite a bit. These kids are better than they've been playing. And they play way better in the spotlight compared to a team they don't really believe will be an issue. They've been to state before and won. They know how to use that second gear. Gilmer is going to put it down, and hey, even if I'm wrong, if it's close trust me it's not gonna be pg winning either way
  14. I used to play for gilmer recently. And when I got out I stayed involved with the team. I can say that under coach traylor, if a coach would've said something like the pg coach said, we would've used it. Maybe not consistently harp on it, but we would've posted it on the wall. Maybe even tape a paper with that quote on every locker. The players would talk about it, and the coach would speak of it in the before game speech. Our fire was always the program and to win, but it definitely never hurt to have a coach or opposing player say something we could get fired up over. Is this still the same under coach turner? Most likely. Coach Turner was actually coach traylor's mentor for a lot of things. Would gilmer bring the fire without the comment? Heck yeah, that streak drives them, but it doesnt hurt that they can get behind what that coach said
