  1. Do not pretend your arguments are not opinion as well. What is fact is that the SEC's bowl record and BCS bowl is far superior to the Big 12 since 1996 as well as head to head in those bowls. And many more national championships. What is funny to me is that Big 12 posters wonder why the SEC is proud of its conference and yet you argue equally as strong for the Big 12.
  2. AS most of this is just opinion on both sides, mine is this. 1. The SECs top six teams all would have a legitimate chance to win the Big 12. None of the Big 12 schools would have better than a 50/50 chance to win the SEC. 2. Yet another SEC team is going to win the national championship this year. 3. The SEC will have, like just about every year, a better record and BCS bowl record than the Big 12. I would take that over balance or depth any day. With that being said, I think the bottom of the SEC would do well against the bottom of the Big 12.
  3. I do not care what people say about Les. I like him and I was rooting for Bama. He made some aggressive calls. I like the onsides, still probably get it if the kicker waits a tad longer. Alabama caught completely off guard. Yes, should have kicked the 40 whatever yarder and punted the 54 yarder. But his players obviously love him and play hard for him. He has kept LSU relevant and competitive for more consecutive years than any other LSU coach I can think of, including Saban.
  4. The reason the SEC is given the benefit of the doubt is of course the national championships. But that is not all. In spite of the middle and lower class tier of the SEC appearing weak, they win the majority of their bowl games. Since 2000, the SEC's bowl record is 66-43. The BIG 12 is 52-50. The PAC 12 is 37-39. The Big 10 is 39-55. The ACC is 44-49.
  5. One thing is for sure. Easy schedule or not, nobody in the Big 12 wants any part of Alabama. It would be embarrassing.
  6. With no quarterback last year, LSU went 13-1 with as tough a schedule as a team can play. They have as good a defense as any team in the country and a stable of running backs. Also, they have exceptional special teams. No way they are overrated. Definitely a top 3 team. USC has a great offense but a suspect front 4 on defense.
  7. As a coach, I always want teams in my district to do well in the playoffs. It is a sense of pride and camaraderie I guess. We have competed against one another all year and I think it is natural to want them to do well. The SEC I believe sees it the same way. I am sure not all SEC teams root for one another though, particularly Auburn and Alabama.
  8. Congratulations to former Sulphur Springs pitcher Colby Suggs in getting the win for the Razorbacks!
  9. Sulphur Springs gets the #1 seed for allowing the fewest runs scored.
  10. Ask just about any college player and the physical toll after playing a physical team is worse than playing against the spread.
  11. The SEC (including the Miss St. and the like) has a better bowl record than any other conference and it is not that close. SEC 40-23 over the last 7 years and 15-6 in BCS bowls. The BIG 12 is 29-25 and 8-10 in BCS bowls. Again this includes NOT just the elite of the conference. 8 NC to 2 NC. Year in and year out SEC is better. Fact. 5 different SEC programs have won NC in BCS era. BIG 10 has a better record against the SEC than does the BIG 12. SEC has still won more than both.
  12. Nobody said every team in the SEC is unbeatable. But facts show that overall as a conference it is the best year after year. All you have to look at is ranked teams, records in bowl games and records in BCS bowl games. The SEC is first and their is no disputing it based on those facts. My comment on Florida and Oklahoma was to answer the question that so many have posed this year. Let's see how a big 12 offense would do against the SEC defense. We have seen it. It has happened before. Yes, pride in your school and conference is just another thing that makes the SEC so unique.
  13. Not an opinion. I can give you game after game that really happened with the SEC over the last 10 years. Usually same result. Big 12 homers just do not like it that the SEC is so dominant.
  14. It is comical sometimes to hear that SEC defenses are only good because they play bad SEC offenses. However, if you look at the games during the BCS era. SEC offenses score a lot against other conferences and usually shut down good offenses. I could give numerous examples, but will give one. Florida versus Oklahoma 4 years ago. Bradford's OK averaged nearly 50 points a game and gave up very few. Florida holds that BIG 12 offense to 14 points. Completely dismantled them. OSU would have met a similar fate.
  15. No way OSU stays on the field with LSU. LSU would run the ball down their throats. OSU is not as good as Oregon in my opinion and look what LSU did to them. Alabama is just that good.
